“We’ll open to me and Vlad standing here with the road behind us.” said Dylan.
He was a twenty two year old sandy haired blond with broad shoulders and a smile that got him a few spots in commercials as a teenager. He had manicured nails and bright white teeth that were even and sparkled cleanly. He wore a designer shirt and jacket fixing the mini microphone clipped to his shirt.
“Yeah, I’ll set up the tripod and roll and just start when you’re ready.” said Max the camera man.
Max was a chubby twenty three year old who wore a faded blue Phillies hat backwards on his head and dressed more like a construction worker headed to the bar after work than a cameraman. He didn’t think much of this project, but it was experience and fucking off in The University of the Arts lab didn’t give you that. Anything extra to pad the film resume was welcome.
Dylan nodded and was anxious to get this video done and over with. He was neutral on the paranormal, he’d filmed a video in the summer of 2020 during lock down of a day time UFO/UAP in Gloucester County New Jersey over a high school football field which garnered him forty thousand subs on YouTube and ten thousand followers on Instagram. It was a moment of catching lightening in a bottle and Dylan planned on using it to help further his career as an influencer. He and Max were both students at The University of the Arts and were the only two in their film class that could work together without their egos getting in the way.
“Should we leave enough space between us so people watching can see down the road?” asked Vlad.
Vlad Clortho was not a student at the The Arts or any university for that matter.
He was a YouTuber from Philly with a small but loyal following of twelve thousand subscribers who watched him do ghost hunts and urban explorations of places both famous and unknown. His name was actually Victor Dellaruse, and Vlad Clortho was a combination of character names from his favorite horror movies. Dylan was jealous of Vlad’s slowly growing sub count, while his own stagnated.
“What for?” asked Dylan.
Seeing Vlad wearing his customary black goth clothes and his face made chalky white by applying cover up which to Dylan looked horrible.
“So people watching can feel drawn in by the road.” Vlad said easily.
