I am at Saroj Niwas sitting in my pergola all

alone,

The bright sun is shining but nightfall is coming

along.

My world is lonely and the whole yard is quiet

and free,

Birds and doves twitter as they hop from tree to

tree.

The rain falls on the roof top and the doves are

with their mate,

I am alone and lonely without the loving

company of my mate.

The water is not able to cool my grief nor my

sorrow and sadness,

Whole world is disturbed I am with the fond

memories of my mistress.

I see a pretty little pigeon descending from the

sky to land in the yard,

She represents my Pretty Lotus and is my

delight of the backyard.

The colourful lorikeets that hang on the trees to

get the sweet juice,

They give me the joy that we used to enjoy

while drinking the grape juice.

All is not lost in my life and I am still interacting

with my sweetheart.

I love to often sit in the pergola and feel she is

still part of my heart.

It is now getting harder though as the time goes

by

I find I am getting older but missing her more as

time goes by.
