INTRODUCTION (1st edition)
Dear Reader,
Everything we say and do is an affirmation of either fear or love. Although I understand the solidarity behind wearing a T-shirt that reads: "I'm One of 65,844,610 Americans against Trump," if we don't turn around that "against" mindset—we simply empower Trump and his agenda.
In my opinion, this is how Trump got elected:
The Red State voters pictured Donald Trump in the White House (imagining him making good on his promise to roll back progress to their idea of a "Great America" made up only of white bread and pasteurized white milk, with no chocolate milk or squaw bread allowed.)
The Blue State voters pictured Donald Trump in the White House (imagining in horror all the devastation that would follow his election.)
Over 90 million eligible voters (40% of total) did not vote in the 2016 presidential election. Their reasons for abstention added a low level energy vibration of "whatever" and "it won't matter"—which is down on the frequency scale with Mr. Trump's hate-based campaign.
Combined, all of that fear energy elected Trump.
Unless we progressives begin doing something radically different as a collective whole, Trump's threats will materialize in all the devastating detail we have imagined.
We think in images, and when we get emotionally involved with those movies playing across the screen of our minds, and we picture the scenes in great detail, until they feel so real we can taste the popcorn, then those pictures must materialize.
That is the creative process of our universe, and we can't escape the law of attraction when we push against what we don't want. That doesn't bring us what we do want, it merely makes what we resist even stronger.
We fight terrorism, and the terrorists multiply.
We fight cancer, and it turns into an epidemic.
We fight Donald Trump's agenda, and… Guess what? His agenda grows stronger.
I was born in Texas. My heritage is Anglo-French, and I am qualified for membership in the DAR, "Daughters of the American Revolution." Perhaps the spirit of revolution is in my blood and has helped push me to write this book, although I must admit it is far outside my comfort zone because for much of my life, my outlook was, "Don't rock the boat, whatever you do!"
But I can't sit by and watch, like so many people did with Nazi Germany. I have to speak up and share what I think will help us. We can't allow Trump to get re-elected in 2020. I am writing this book to help Democrats and Progressives gain a better understanding and application of the law of attraction, so that the travesty of a man like Donald Trump in the White House can never be repeated in our country.
Every tyrant, every dictator and despot in history has eventually been defeated, but we cannot wait four years in a hopeless and helpless state of mind and then pray to defeat Trump in the polls. An organization in Alabama called Southern Poverty Law Center reports that in the first ten days post-election, there were 867 hate incidents in our country as white supremacists and avowed neo-Nazis celebrated Trump's election.
Personally, I don't believe the average Trump supporter is an extremist, racist or bigot. I feel that most of the people who voted for him were simply following their belief that a Republican candidate was the best choice no matter what others might be claiming about him. It's sad to realize that the hard-working middle class farmers, laborers, small business owners and factory workers in the Red States will be hit very hard indeed by Trump's widespread economic plans regarding minimum wage, tax benefits for the super-wealthy, and other issues that will adversely impact the lives of so many millions who gave him their blind support.
Wishes and hopes are a start towards creating our manifestation list, but wishing and hoping for change isn't enough.
We have to take inspired action, we have to imagine what we do want for our country, and we have to do all this in great enough numbers to make a difference.
To help mitigate the disaster of Trump's term in office and head off a potential re-election in 2020, in these pages I share how we can use and apply the laws of the mind more effectively and beneficially.
Now is a good time for me to point out that I'm not a political analyst, I'm not someone you would see on the streets shrieking into a news camera or picketing outside one of the Trump buildings in NYC.
I'm an inspirational writer. I show people how to heal, recover from grief, and be happier. I'm also someone with the gift for making complex issues easier to comprehend and apply. I am a perpetual student of the natural laws of the mind and how we can transition out of humanity's Old Worldview of struggle and war, and into a New Worldview accessible to us from the insight quantum physicists have given us—a new view that explains that as incredible as it may seem at first, we actually create the results we experience, and we create them with our thoughts and the emotional images those thoughts form in our minds.
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: —
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass."
James Allen
When we think "in secret" it means those hidden beliefs that we all hold inside, and which pop up in response to life situations by bringing an image to mind.
I also bring to the table my lifelong experience in relationships with narcissistic men. Donald Trump is an extreme narcissist. People with this "personality disorder" are typically defined as being completely self-absorbed and possessing an unnaturally high level of entitlement: the rules don't apply to narcissists. They demand constant attention to mask their overwhelming insecurities and erupt in rage when they are inadvertently or purposefully thwarted.
This book offers a new point of view, a new approach to defeating and neutralizing Trumps' radical, hate-based agenda.
We'll use the laws of the mind to attract success in the causes so dear to the hearts of compassionate and progressive people in America. All our friends around the world are welcome to join in visualizing peace. We can prevent the massive havoc and destruction that Trump and his supporters are championing.
When it's a big result like an election, it means many millions of us were involved in the outcome.
Hillary Clinton won the 2016 presidential election as the People's Choice, and now We the People have the amazing opportunity to join together in service to progressive ideals, and then, out of seeming devastation, create tremendous good for our country and global wellbeing.
We the People desire progress that helps the greatest number of people, instead of going back to the insular white bread, pasteurized white milk worldview espoused by Trump and his supporters.
This book includes a crash course in using the laws of the mind such as the law of attraction in a more effective way than most of us ever learned.
For instance, the law of opposites tells us that there is always an equal opposite for everything. If it is 30" from the top of your table to the floor, it must be 30" from the floor to the top of the table. We readily understand similar examples of polarity or opposites such as hot/cold, on/off, dark/light, up/down, back/front. But a more interesting effect of the law of opposites is that when we are faced with a situation that appears really dreadful, that means there is an equal opposite that would be really wonderful.
I see the potential to create beauty out of the dark night of Trump's election.
The law of grace gives us a shortcut past karma, so that when we invoke grace into our lives, we can accelerate our results to, well, to warp speed.
This book is not a rehash of the campaign. It's not a plea to take action for the many wonderful causes and issues that the Democratic platform supported and continues to support, although I do list the main issues in a separate section for review and inspiration to get involved.
Consider this a call to action of a different variety. It's a pebble tossed into the lake, rippling outwards with the invitation to join me in visualizing progress, and in doing so, think those results into manifestation.
I know from experience in my own life that an undercurrent of panic will pull the rug out from under you and serve up the very results that you dread.
Let's not let that happen to America. Let's not let Trump truly win, by allowing his agenda to proceed into fulfillment.
If we fear and dread his presidency, we become inadvertent collaborators— transmitting our invisible energy straight to him and his cronies and feeding their greed for power.
In Part One: What Do We Do Now?, I explore the metaphysical and other reasons behind Trump's win, and what we can do about it. This section includes a special message to the Teens and Tweens who are our up-and-coming voters. I've included a recap of the issues, and messages from various organizations who have mapped out their plans for offsetting Trump's radical agenda.
Then, in Part Two: Inside the Mind of a Narcissist, I share my own experiences and perception about what drives an extreme narcissist such as Mr. Trump. I'm not a psychologist—but I survived way too many years of being married to a narcissistic verbal abuser, and I learned a lot about how to handle the situation, and how to change my behavior so I could be happy anyway.
Part Three: Alphabet Soup to Strengthen & Inspire offers words of comfort and, I hope, wisdom, on 26 topics listed in alphabetical order A-Z. The list of topics was gifted to me during meditation, and I am grateful to be of service in this way.
For those readers who weren't aware of or following my Stress Relief Blog
Countdown to Trump's Inauguration, I've included all 31 blog posts in Part Four:
31-Day Countdown to Inauguration 2017 I intended the blog content to be an integral part of the book, so don't skip this section under the assumption it's redundant.
By the way, a warm welcome to any Republicans who did not vote for Trump because of his extremism, or who did vote for him but now realize with horror that the "gossip" about his corruption and right-wing extremism is all too true. I grew up in a family where my dad was a Democrat and my mother was a Republican. But back then the party differences were not as wide apart as they are today, where basic freedoms and inalienable rights for all are truly at risk.
I offer a message of hope for the future in Part Five: In God We Trust Whatever your beliefs or lack of them, we all know that we did not create the sun and the moon and this planet we inhabit. Some energy is behind all that we see and experience, and we are all connected in this energy field as part of the whole.
In closing the book, I present my request that you make a commitment for
change, described in Part Six: Call to Action. Prepare to embark on the greatest adventure of your life as you access a new level of courage you may have thought was meant only for those we call heroes. After all, a hero is someone who saw a need, walked through the fear and said, "Yes, I can do this."
Let's move forward with love in our hearts and get to work on creating a greater country and a better world, with liberty and justice for all.
Namaste—I see the Light in you.
with love,

Evelyn Roberts Brooks
