1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1 small glass wine or brandy
2 teaspoons anise seeds
6 cups all purpose cake flour 3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup sugar blended with
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method: Preheat oven to 385º F. Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream well. Add eggs and anise. Cream again. Add wine. Sift dry ingredients, except cinnamon sugar. Add to shortening mixture. Roll out thinly on a floured board. Cut into shapes and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake in oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes about 80
