rules were making me a hermit and isolating

me from the rest of the world. I was getting

proud and judgmental about other people’s

behavior.

Strict rules weren’t bringing me closer to

myself. On the contrary, I was ignoring things

that were natural and enjoyable. And I was

getting more and more disconnected from my

body.

Yoga is not about being strict and dogmatic.

It’s about finding a connection with our own

self. And for that, we need to experiment,

forgive ourselves, and honor our needs, rather

than follow any rules we read about. No matter

how rational they sound.

 

BAD HABITS on the WAY

If you want to start yoga, don’t let your bad

habits stop you. Many times, I’ve heard people

saying, ‘First I need to stop smoking,’ or ‘First

I need to start eating healthy food and lose

some weight,’ or ‘First I need to get in the

habit of waking up early.’ And I have to say;

it’s all nonsense.
