Dreamer

Looking, I see the crew trying to take those beams off of me but I know that it will not help. That me is dead. I turn and now find myself on what has to be a different world.

In this night time sky is two moons.

Here at my camp fire is a mixture of, shall I make an understatement, species.

I just know their species names. I do not, however, know where the hell I am.

They are all looking at me. The one I know as the leader, a large wildcat humanoid, tells the group. “He is back in one of those trances. Who knows what we are going to get into now!”

I am in both the dream world but I am still aware of this world. I start to speak to the group but in an almost trance like tone.

“My long lost wife is here with me in bed, she is almost on top of me. She was telling me that I will be with her. She does not say when but then she leaves. She has an important job to do. I demand that she come back but the others are telling me that she cannot at this time. Now I start making things move and I am threatening. Punching the walls and such. All the while demanding she come back. This world has gone from color and now is black and white as one was telling me that she was in the next room being dismissed for bringing me there without it being my time.

Now we are in a peaceful field with women picking flowers. Again she is not with me and again I demand but this time the sky goes gray with clouds. My wife is lying on the grass unconscious. I pick her up and start to run towards the forest. The woman in charge tells me not to go into the forest. The sky over that starts to go gray as I carry my wife towards that forest.”

I am back with the group and they all are intensely looking at me. I must think because I really feel that the dream is very important. Holding up my hand in a motion to give me a minute to let the meaning sink in.

“I lost my wife when we were very young. She made a rash decision in a fight that was going on and she fell. I still miss her terribly even after these decades since. In the dream, she again made a decision to bring me there to give me a message. She was to give me the message here in a dream not take me to where she was. Wanting her made me make decisions that effected the realm that she is in.”

I point to a young man who was barely in his twenties. “I appoint you as my guide.” I touch him on his forehead and share some of my cognitive powers with him. He passes out. I tell the group,

“This one will be my check. I am now certain that I will make some decisions that will be emotional rather than logical. Decisions based on self needs rather than the greater good. This one will now be my logical side. He now has the backbone to stop me from those emotional decisions. I also ask all of you, especially you leader, to question me if I do not go on the right path. Make me explain my reason but with this one in that talk..”

I remember that large man on that narrow path at the fork in the path. I do not want to be a half baked cake. In this case it could get people killed.

My revelation has shocked all. Doubt my directions? They have always led the group to succeed but most times in a round about way. More like logical illogic. Like the leader said, they never know what they were going to get into but they always knew that it was in the best interest of all.

Now they are being told that I may cause the world to go black and white. Cause the sky to turn gray and that we may need to carry the fallen running towards the danger. Is that danger the way out? Now they realize why I gave some of my power to that young man.

That man woke up and now I knew why I chose him. He sounds just like that large man on the path but I knew that it is part of the plan. The man is not even connected to the one on the path. Maybe, I’m wrong. As I think that, the man smiles at me.

We have some battles and most of the time, that one is silent. There did come the time that I gave my directions. That man spoke to me but in front of all.

“Isn’t that what happened long ago? You let your wife make a decision but the repercussion was her death. Think, didn’t you change what you foresaw in that dream. She welcomes you but disappeared. She got in trouble for calling you there. That memory is now calling you to chose a half baked plan. Wake up and don’t cause the world to go black!”

Suddenly I realized that, even though I am here on this world, I was being steered back towards that upper road.

“I’m sorry.” I tell the group. “He is right, I was making an emotional decision based on a similarity not on these circumstances. We need to do this…..”

After we won that battle, I was being praised for my plan. Again it was a roundabout plan but that was not what the opponent ever would have expected. No one died, no one was injured.

I stopped them from praising me. I have the man who corrected me come to the front. “This is the one that you need to thank. He is the one that stopped me from making the same mistake that I made so long ago. Now it is his time to take my place.”

Grabbing a hold of him, I pour my powers from this world into him. Then I am apart from them. I see that me drop to the ground and the man start to tell them that I had transferred my power to him.

I hear him say that I had someone waiting for me. I turn and wonder what else do I need to find.
