Chapter 3: The Visit

A few weeks had passed since Samuel last met Billy, and as fate would have it, he found himself standing on the doorstep of Billy's modest house tucked away in the peaceful suburbs. Although Samuel had never set foot in this place before, an inexplicable sense of familiarity washed over him, as if he had finally arrived home after a long journey. The anticipation in his heart was palpable as he lifted his hand to knock on the weathered wooden door.

Billy opened the door with a warm smile, and they embraced like old friends reunited after a lifetime apart. "It's good to see you, Samuel," Billy's voice was filled with genuine warmth as he ushered Samuel inside. "Come on in. I've got some coffee brewing."

Stepping over the threshold into Billy's abode, Samuel couldn't help but inhale deeply, taking in the comforting scents of woodsmoke drifting through the air and the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked cookies wafting from the kitchen. The cozy ambiance of the house enveloped him like a familiar hug, wrapping him in a sense of belonging that he hadn't experienced in years. Every corner seemed to tell a story, every nook whispered of shared moments and cherished memories, creating a tapestry of comfort and welcome that spoke straight to Samuel's soul.
