First assigment

Mercy now gets serious. “We have your first assignment. The world that made the AI that caused you to be that monkey under glass, is now in the process of trying to make a stronger version. This time they are putting in an army of defenders in the program. You can use anything your imagination can conceive.”

She now gives me that picture of where the wifi is located on that world. I concentrate and tell her that there is a gap in their security. Of all places, it is in the main programmer’s home. I tell her that I am stopping both of our times and thank her for showing me the courtesy of treating me as a person of worth.

As I leave, I hear her thoughts. “Of course I treated you that way. Do you believe you don’t deserve it? You need to know that you are worth it. People will only pay the price you put on yourself. Price yourself extremely high.”

I am now just hanging in space. I remember those cartoons that showed people is space and all they had was a glow around them. I decided that I would now make my shell like a flowing cape with some flames and lightning. As seen from a world, I allow myself to be seen as a rogue comet. I love it.

But now it’s time to go to war. That planet is in sight. That programmer’s leak is just screaming its invitation to me.

I step through my door going from space to their world. Funny thing, my cape is still with me and it is like it is alive. Undulating in the wind as it trails behind me. They cannot see me. That’s a shame. I pass by a large store front window and look at my reflection. I look good. She is right, you this world does not have enough wealth in total to even buy a minute of me.

Time to work. Their time is still frozen. I walk and look. What I see is opulence. There, in my sight, is no poor struggling to exist. All I see is a population that does not need to work. All have bots that do the work for them. They don’t even walk. Everyone has a floating couch that looks like those old fainting couches.

Looking around, I determine that they need to all learn a lesson and I know exactly what I need to do.

Arriving at the programmer’s location, I restart the time. Now I can smell their air. Even that has a fowl taint to it. The smell of pollutants that all these bot batteries are emitting. Time to give this planet a rest.

I see the wifi stream and dive. I love being right. His firewall does not have a block on the wifi input. Only on the harmful content, malware and virus. I am just the wifi signal. I follow the path to the location of the program and enter it.

The landscape is what I choose it to be. Why not keep it as the medieval settings. I materialize and immediately I am confronted by an army of newbie killers like in the game I played. Here we go.

Using my sword first. I still want some actual experience with it. It does not take any time for me to see their pattern of attack. The program is just that a program, an algorithms series of commands.

This may get boring. I sword fight but then I decide to bother the programmer. I freeze this portion of the program. A bug. I can see that his attention is on this and he is reviewing the script. Now is my time.

As he is working on that, I see the half built castle that the AI is being constructed in. Again this is not a real challenge, I look forward to a fully activated AI but I now return my attention to the castle.

Looking at the almost complete AI. It is just standing there. No life yet. Tall and muscle bound. I can tell that only the brain is yet to be completed. I now become its brain. Now to show these greedy bastards just what they are worth.

Cheap junk you find as prizes at a crooked carnival.

While he is still figuring out my bug, I activate. First things first, I destroy his back door access program. I activate his sofa and have it uncontrollably exit his house and fly high into the air. Almost to the clouds, the power to it cuts off.

The ground came up quickly to claim its first victim.

Then batteries all started to catch fire. All those people could do is fall off their transport. They found that they actually were very weak. There were a lot that could not even drag themselves away from the burning sofa and died where they fell.

Now for their infrastructure. All supply delivery systems and food preparation kitchens have ceased to work. Those have also burnt down along with any construction and repair systems.

This world is now cooked. He had a good computer system with back up power for everything so I caused a cascade power failure. No repair system.

Now for the last thing. I head for the wifi. I leave but now flesh and blood, I am at his computer keyboard. I call up my program and set it to run.

Now in the air is an over whelming smell of fried electronics burning. I walk out his front door. There are whole blocks on fire. Rising above it I fly to the city center and land.

Allowing the people to see me, they are still arrogant bastards. I am bombarded with demands to help them. They were arguing with each other as to who is more important. All I see is a city of nothing but slugs.

Again a few feet above them in the air, I use a broadcast voice.

“I was one of your victims. Your greed caused me to be a prisoner in an exhibit. I look at you slugs and wish there was some glass that I could bang on it. I should just leave you like this but I will show you more sympathy than you deserve. God of mercy, would you please come here.”

She appears floating at the level I am at.

“I heard your call but where are the sentients?”

I go along with her but now I put my feelings into my response. I put some glass between the two of us and the slugs. I also manifest two boxes of popcorn. I eat the corn as I really bang on the glass.

“Come on, do something! I paid good money.” I stop there and look to mercy. “I can’t even pretend anymore. I destroyed everything. They are now in the premachine era. All these “people” will just die where they are. When I showed myself, all they did was demand me to help them. They were even arguing over who was more important. I find them all just pathetic and none of them are redeemable. I defer to your judgement but couldn’t this world benefit from reforming and letting a deserving people settle here?”

In just that instant, the dual god of all, Terry and Olga, shows up and confirms what I just said. They told Mercy that there is no redeemable here.

“It is our decision for oblivion for them and their bodies will nourish the new world. Electronic Commando, you have done well. I am pleased with your methods. Sometime we may join you in one of those games you first played. Be advised, the imps have caught wind of them. They want in on it. It will make the game interesting. They want to play the goblins in your game. They do comment that the real goblins are nice people.”

Now they turn on the slugs and all dissolve. Oblivion for the souls. They now tell us to leave but not before I am shown a resort like land.

Introductions to the new commandos

“This is the realm of the old gods. They failed and were sent to the final life.. We gift this to you. Just so you know, the imps’ vacation here. We have set up an online game system in your new home. Both you and the imps can join that one you joined and have fun. We also have an alert system that will tell you about AI’s going rogue.”

I like this place. It even has a pool. The first time I came by it. There were floating little bodies, some at the bottom. I just shook my head, got the pool net and fished out the bodies. I dumped the first into a bucket. The rest looked dejected and got up.

What they did not know was that I was warned about this stunt.

I went into the house and called out to them. I knew that they were Times fellows so I called Time hear. He tells me just to call him Sam.

“Sam, I hear that you now are allowing some of your fellows to travel with the sages. These that are here seem to need something to do. You know what my task is. Destroy evil AI’s and then act as the AI causing the creator’s great pain. I have asked and I am able to take them in with me. I will keep them safe. They will be allowed to run rip shod in the works but I will be able to retrieve them and get them out safely..”

I can see that they are getting excited, time to hammer it home.

“If you have doubts, I have an online link here. Time, how about you and your fellows take a ride along with me? I will open the door to the wifi. With my ability, we all will become electronic. You all will be linked to me. I leave, you leave. No matter where you are, you are tethered to me. No one is left behind.”

The imps are all for it so Sam says that he will go along. I first tell them that they want t pick out how they look in the game. I am told, “What’s the difference?” At their size, in a game, they are right. What’s the difference.

I do the tether but they don’t even notice. Opening the door, I see the wifi whirlpool and dive. I can hear them laughing hysterically in delight. Now we are a party of adventurers.

Almost immediately, here comes the newbie killers. A group of small players, no challenge. They come at the group and are caught in a maelstrom of little people attacking them but with a twist only imps could think of.

Within seconds, something that would be impossible manifests itself. There standing completely frozen are the killers stripped naked with the imps peeing on them. They have even made balloons so they can float over them and urinate on their heads and poop on them.

Both Time and I are struck motionless. Time turns to me and says, “It seems that their imagination can be manifested in here. I guess it is safe for them but I don’t know about the other players.”

A crowd of players are now laughing and clapping for the imps tactics. They are a little confused. Never have they had a crowd approve of their work. I walk over to them and address the crowd.

“How do you like my party?”

Now the imps are really looking around. They heard party. I tell them just think of what you want. All of them now have a beer that seems to never run dry. Now they are getting drunk bold and trying to pick fights with the crowd.

“Anyone want to have a round with them?” Sam asks. A few of the younger ones have to try so they pull swords. He soon backs away when the imp he is challenging pulls out one of those great swords.

You need to have been there to believe the scene. There was a tall player being intimidated by a six inch warrior doing an impossible show with a seven foot great sword like it was a feather. The player backed away so I made a large dragon appear. The one imp dissected that dragon in a few swings.

Dragon parts were falling to the ground.

It lands down in the classic three point landing, head looking to the ground. I peed my electronic pants when it looked up in that stance and said, “Anyone of you punks want a piece of me?”

Then he and his fellows laughed. They were having fun and now those players started to laugh with them.

The group pointed out the tough players and those imps went into stalker mode. We achieved notice and a game rules enforcer that appeared. They made the enforcer look like a rookie.

Soon it came time for us to leave. I told the followers that we will be back but the imps did not want to go. “Time watch this. I felt the wifi stream and followed it. Kicking and screaming, the group of imps were back to flesh and blood.

A lot of dejected faces but I sat them all down.

“You got a taste of what I meant that when I leave you have to come with me. I can hear you grumble but think of a real mission. I will let you loose to wreak havoc on an electronic world. Destroy and humiliate those who would enslave worlds just to enrich their own pockets. It would go on until the computer collapse and I would pull us all out. You will be able to walk in their ruined world and flavor their coffee in front of them and they would have to drink.

In that electronic world, just think and you will fly like a bird. Know this, nothing can hurt you. Out here, you will know who needs correction and who needs to not exist. Do you want to have a lot of fun?” ”

By now they are cheering. Time gives me the okay to have this group for a while to see how they will do.
