A final look back
Reading the goblin history, I read that their original owners had grown unable to take care of themselves. The jumpers have reported that, on future visits, found that they died out. Those planets were made into refuges.
This has me curious about our original planet. I talked to Razen about the possibility of hitching a ride to see what is happening there. It turns out that the counsel of ten wanted to see what has happened. Also to see if there are any of our folk there.
Serena was adamant that she did not want to see it. She said that it only held terrible memories that she does not want to revisit. She did want me to go so I could tell our kin how their exodus effected the felids.
Our ship reached orbit and broadcast a request to land. There was nothing but silence.
Upon landing, we see exactly why. There has been a revolt where the royals and nobles were overthrown. Most were executed for bringing on the total break down of their way of life.
We found that there truly were no mouse folk on the planet. Most of the felids that were left had dispersed into the country side. I stopped at the site of my cavern. There was a sign there that just said one word.
Sorry.
We made the right decision.
