Chapter 4 The Birth of Nations and Civilizations
I. The Emergence of Nations
Around 5,500 years ago, following the withdrawal of the devils and animal goblins, the White-planet people and the Yelleem people established their separate nations. The Yelleem people crowned their leader as the Yellow Emperor, while the White-planet people hailed their ruler as the White Emperor. These two nations thrived for hundreds of years until the White Emperor waged war against the Yelleem people about five hundred years later. Ultimately, the White Emperor triumphed, and the Yelleem people became a vassal kingdom under his rule.
Around 5,000 years ago, the White Emperor unified the continent of North Ahuriga, establishing the Ajiza Empire. This empire faced the challenge of frequent flooding from the Jiza River, which was crucial for the people's livelihood. The White Emperor mobilized the masses and successfully diverted the river, safeguarding the lives and productivity of the people. His accomplishments earned him admiration and worship from his citizens. The legend of "the White Emperor ruling the water" became a cherished tale within the Ajiza Empire.
As the Candle-planet people settled in the lower reaches of the Ufatig River, they flourished and developed. Around 5,000 years ago, they formed the Ailan Kingdom in collaboration with the local inhabitants along the eastern bank of the Ufatig River. Simultaneously, the Cand-par people near the Yinpar River established their own nation, the Yinpar Empire. Approximately 4,800 years ago, the Yinpar Empire flourished, giving rise to two grand city-states: Zodas and Bahara.
During this period, four major birthplaces of human civilizations emerged on the Blue Planet: the East Kunlun Empire, the Ajiza Empire, the Ailan Kingdom, and the Yinpar Empire. Although these civilizations were all agrarian, they inherited cultural traits from different planets within the L-solar system, resulting in diverse languages and practices. The Ajiza Empire (alluding to Ancient Egypt) inherited the White-planet civilization, specializing in divine rule, incantations, and granting high status to women. The Ailan Kingdom and the Yinpar Empire inherited the Candle-planet civilization, focusing on agriculture, bronze tool-making, and displaying a keen interest in commerce and trade. The East Kunlun Empire inherited spiritual cultivation and the culture of PVED (the Practice of Vital Energy Development), as well as the silk civilization of the Blue Planet.
About 5,300 years ago, the East Kunlun Empire emerged on the East Kunlun continent, comprising several kingdoms. Among them, three states stood out: Barworm Kingdom, Heluo Kingdom, and Yuliang Kingdom. Notably, the Yuliang Kingdom boasted a state organization employing 100,000 laborers, a sophisticated water irrigation system, exquisite jade artifacts, and silk clothing. These achievements surpassed those of any other contemporary nation.
The Jooya people were the descendants of the Jooya-moon civilization. The Jooya-moon was the only moon of the White Planet in the L-solar system. After migrating to the Central Fusang continent, they established a tropical jungle civilization. However, due to geographical proximity, their civilization did not significantly impact subsequent human development. In their earlier days on the Ahuriga continent, they were known as the Lie-shan Clan due to their practice of slash-and-burn farming. After relocating to the Central Fusang continent, they formed their own nation, and their kings were referred to as the Yan Emperor or Red Emperor by the people of that time.
In this manner, humans thrived independently for nearly 2,000 years, and civilizations blossomed across various regions. Around 4,800 years ago, the Yinpar Empire constructed immensely large cities characterized by societal equality. There was no distinction between the rich and the poor, as all housing adhered to the same standards. Each home consisted of a courtyard-style single house. The cities were meticulously designed to incorporate public amenities and boasted well-connected streets and excellent drainage systems. Residential buildings were equipped with pipes for waste disposal and toilets on the second floor. The waste from the toilets was channeled through pipes within the walls to the sewers. Intricate underground waterways crisscrossed the cities, showcasing an unparalleled level of sophistication that surpassed even the developments of cities thousands of years later. The houses in the Yinpar Empire were constructed using burnt bricks, a level of advancement unseen in other contemporary nations, where bricks were reserved solely for royal palaces and shrines. At that time, the Yinpar Empire embodied an ideal country of equality, peace, and openness. Concurrently, the Cand-sci people established a highly advanced city near the Tahman River, known as the city of Tahman.
II. The Birth of the Institution of Marriage
Following the retreat of the devils and animal goblins to 4-dimensional spaces, their desire to control humans persisted. They sought ways to exert invisible control over humans. It was through the suggestion of the chimpanzee monsters, they discovered that bonobo groups were much happier than chimpanzee groups.
Bonobos lived in matriarchal societies, while chimpanzees embraced patriarchal systems. These distinct groups displayed vastly different patterns of behavior. Chimpanzee groups adhered to strict social hierarchies and engaged in fierce and brutal power struggles to establish leadership. When chimpanzees from different groups encountered each other, they often engaged in deadly fights, resulting in the annihilation of one group's males and the abduction of its females.
On the other hand, bonobos thrived in matriarchal societies, where older female chimpanzees held leadership positions. Relations between bonobo group members were harmonious and amicable. Even interactions between different bonobo groups were characterized by friendliness. When two bonobo groups met, females from both groups would engage in mating, leading to a joyful and harmonious outcome.
The devils learned from these chimpanzee groups that a patriarchal society has the potential of a means to control humans. By promoting monogamy or polygamy within a patriarchal framework, they could plunge humanity into a cruel struggle, keeping them away from happiness.
Subsequently, around 5,000 years ago, the devils and animal goblins came to the 3-dimensional space of the Blue Planet. Utilizing black magic, they disguised themselves as kings of various countries, replacing and eliminating the original rulers without detection. Under the guise of these kings, the devils introduced patriarchal concepts and marriage systems based on monogamy or polygamy. They only needed to remain in the 3-dimensional space briefly to establish such institutions and concepts, allowing time to shape human evolution in their desired direction.
During that period, the Yelleem people, the Jooya people, and some tribes in the far eastern region of the East Kunlun continent were most strongly influenced by the patriarchal system. To enforce this system, some devils and animal goblins mandated that women avoid encounters with men on the road or face punishment through whipping. Consequently, the status of women declined significantly, gradually reducing women to slaves within families. This led to the emergence of hierarchies, centralization, increased inter-kingdom competition, and frequent acts of war.
In strongly patriarchal societies, the institution of monogamous or polygamous marriage essentially amounted to domestic slavery. Women were reduced to unpaid caregivers and reproductive tools, and stripped of their human rights. Husbands could freely subject their wives to domestic abuse without consequence. Distorted beliefs were propagated by the devils, such as advocating the death penalty for women who committed adultery within marriage, while granting men the freedom to engage in extramarital affairs to minimize the likelihood of male infidelity.
From its inception, the marriage system was rife with bloodshed, domestic violence, and inequality. For women, marriage meant transitioning from princesses to slaves, destined for an unhappy fate. The evils of the marriage system extended far beyond, leading to detrimental consequences such as domestic violence, divorce wars, conflicts between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, human trafficking, exploitation of the marriage system for financial gain, prostitution, sexual repression, incest, foot-binding, circumcision, martyrdom, abandonment of female infants, population explosion, centralization, dictatorship, loneliness in old age, and its impact on eugenics. Since the implementation of patriarchal marriage, humans have been ensnared in a web of oppression, tormenting one another relentlessly.
Thus, marriage can be seen as a malevolent curse imposed by the devils on humans. The institution of marriage in a patriarchal society represents hell, while the matriarchal system of marriage embodies paradise.
The reason behind the devils' hatred and oppression of women lies in the women's advantage in spiritual power, enabling them to easily access true divine revelation from the universe and gods. In ancient times, most tribes had female religious leaders who issued oracles to guide major decisions. This posed a threat to the devils, as widespread female psychic communication could steer humans in the right direction and expose the devils' schemes, undermining their control over mankind. Consequently, the devils sought to oppress and torment women through various means, preventing them from fulfilling their role in psychic communication.
During that era, the White-planet people, the Candle-planet people, and the people of the Barworm Kingdom were less influenced by patriarchy. Even with the introduction of monogamy, the Ajiza Empire upheld a high status for women. Although the king of the Ajiza Empire was male, women enjoyed equal rights and personal freedom in all situations. They actively participated in agricultural, handicraft, and commercial activities, playing vital roles in religious practices.
Within households, the status of women surpassed that of men. Women managed family property, and all of a husband's belongings were under the control of his wife. The Ajiza Empire followed a matrilineal rule of inheritance, where property was passed down to women, not men, ensuring women's economic independence and power within society. This matriarchal system nurtured harmony, peace, and equality among its people, with minimal instances of violence or oppression.
In the institution of marriage, women possess the freedom to choose their life partners, and both spouses retain the right to initiate a divorce. However, divorce poses a significant financial burden for men. The law mandates that husbands must allocate two-thirds of their property as compensation to their former wives after separation. This particular system and custom elevated the status of women within society.
For a considerable period, approximately 4,000 years ago, the empires of Ajiza, Ailan, and Yinpar thrived as matriarchal societies. These societies recognized the leadership and authority of women. However, over a few centuries, these nations transitioned into patriarchal societies, where male dominance became prominent.
III. The Devils' Hunt for the Candle-Planet People
Around 3,700 years ago, the devils observed that the Yinpar Empire and the city of Tahman stood out as the most prosperous and advanced civilizations among many nations. The people living there enjoyed a blissful existence, unaffected by the patriarchal system. However, the devils could not stand that humans lead joyful lives. Whenever they encountered the Candle-planet people, the devils would subject them to destruction. The devils simply could not tolerate the existence of an advanced civilization created by the Candle-planet people.
Driven by their jealousy and hatred, the devils aimed to dismantle the countries and cities established by the Candle-planet people. Their initial attack was directed at the Yinpar Empire. However, the Cand-par people had managed to preserve advanced flying saucers and bombers from before the Great Flood. As a result, the devils found themselves unable to win the war. After their defeat, the devils realized they still had nuclear weapons. Hence, around 3,700 years ago, they employed nuclear weapons to obliterate Tahman City, founded by the Candle-sci people, as well as the two major cities of the Cand-par, which are Zodas and Bahara in the Yinpar Empire. The devastating power of nuclear weapons caused the instantaneous death of all the inhabitants within those cities. Only a few individuals who resided outside these cities managed to escape with their lives.
Once again, the Candle-planet people were forced to scatter and flee in order to survive. Some residents near Tahman City sought refuge in the southern desert, while others fled northward and dispersed around Mount Herman, not far from Tahman City. Some inhabitants of the Yinpar Empire fled westward, seeking sanctuary in the great mountains. Some chose to escape to the east and settled in the Barworm Kingdom on the East Kunlun Continent. Before their dispersal, the kings and tribal leaders of the Candle-planet people collectively decided that the only way to evade the relentless pursuit of the devils was to intermarry with local populations, altering their appearance to assimilate among the Blue-planet people. By assimilating into the Blue-planet people, they could exist and propagate across generations. Consequently, the Candle-planet people who sought refuge in different corners of the world intermarried with various races of the Blue-planet people in subsequent times.
Yateland People
Following the Great Flood, the Yateland people inhabited high mountains. Around 5,500 years ago, due to climate changes caused by "the War between the Bear Emperor and King Chiyou", the Yateland people from three distinct mountain regions migrated westward and northward, eventually settling on the West Kunlun continent. Due to limited fertile land suitable for agriculture and the combination of a cold climate and geographical fragmentation, the population in each region remained relatively small, resulting in slower development. This circumstance made the Yateland people less influenced by the patriarchal system. Gradually, they developed a unique maritime civilization.
Later, around 3,700 years ago, during an ice age that caused a drop in temperatures on the Blue Planet, another group of the Yateland people migrated from high mountains. Some of them headed southward and settled on the plateau in the eastern part of the Central Kunlun continent. It was here that they encountered the Cand-par people who had sought refuge in the mountains. The Yateland people and the Cand-par people intermarried, giving rise to a new and larger ethnic group known as the Yat-Cand-Par people, or YCP people.
The Cand-sci people, who had fled to Mount Herman, also intermarried with another group of the Yateland people. Both groups possessed advanced knowledge in science and technology. Their union resulted in the formation of the most intellectually gifted group of people on the Blue Planet, referred to as the Yat-Cand-Sci people, or YCS people. The devils, fearing that the YCS people would develop superior technologies and advanced civilizations that could challenge their control over humanity, harbored a deep hatred for this race. Consequently, the devils devised various methods to carry out genocide against the YCS people. The YCS people came to be known as the Tahman People as well in later times.
