Maribell is in her zone

We did not get far because she sent out a BOLO over the CNC. We were met by Sharon and other females at the Elizabeth plant. We told her we were just checking up on the plant operations.

It was a good excuse until she told us to turn on CNC. There we heard that Maribell has started a countdown. The word she has put out is that if we do not return in five minutes, there will be a ten thousand dollar bounty on us. Tied up and delivered to the flash room.

Sharon said that they may hold us there until the bounty starts. Harcourt offers fifteen but is shot down. Female honor. We surrender and flash back for the dressing down we are going to get.

Harcourt must secure High Peak on their first available date. That will give her the time from now to get things done. We each are given orders.

This time, Harcourt thinks he can throw her off her game. As he is ready to flash to High Peak, he throws her a curve ball. “You need to check with your mother. You may need to plan for two.” And he is gone.

Maribell is just standing there seething “SHE BETTER NOT HAVE. MOM!” Now she goes to find her mother with a few of the youngest children. “Mom, what did daddy mean by I may need to plan two weddings?”

Kile catches wind of what has been revealed when he heard the loud inquiry of his mother so he put on his man pants and faced the raging woman.

“Please don’t yell at grandma. While I was visiting them, I met a nice girl named Mica. We have been going out for a while and grandma brought up how you and dad got married. I talked with her parents already.”.

She stops him right there. She looks at her mother. “I specifically told you that I wanted to be consulted before you introduce him to someone. You did not listen.”

Judith stops her right there. “I did not introduce him. She came to work in our mansion as the new book keeper. Your son sniffed her out. They are a good match and want to get married. They only have been waiting for a good time to meet with you and Brad.”

“Now, they need to be here now. Kile get them to flash to the room. I will get your father. I’m mad and if I’m mad, he will need to …” she does not get to finish because I come in because of the tone.

“Why is your mother mad at all of us and you’re being ordered around?”

Like a true Jenkins, he flashes out. Maribell is left sputtering. Then she unloads on me like I set this whole trap for her to fall into.

“Your son, do you know what your son in cahoots with my parents has gone and done? He screwed up this whole thing.”

I endanger myself and grab her tightly. “Calm down. Breathe in and out, calm down. Judith please explain what this woman that is love dearly and I thank the gods every day that I have this wonderful woman in my life. Maribell, you are starting to grow hair, calm down or I’ll have Arron get the hose.”

I am holding her while Judith tells me that Kile has found someone that he wants to marry. She says that she did not set this up but Maribell insisted that Kile bring her and her parents here, now.

“I believe your mother when she says that she did not set this up. I will release you so you can go and have your mother get you fixed up to meet her parents. You are, after all royalty and we need to have you calm and presentable.”

I almost caused my own death but stopped myself. She was so angry that she lost control of herself. I did whisper to Judith to have Brenda take her into the bathroom and use the plastic stick. Judith knew exactly what I was inferring. She led her to her room but had Brenda tag along.

Kile, Mica Simpson and her parents flashed here and came out of the room to hear shreaking of a school girl running to me with the plastic stick. Kile looks at her then looks at me.

“I see you found an interesting way to put her in a better mood. Congratulations third time is a charm and we needed it.”

The mood is brighter now, Maribell is pregnant and she has released most of the tension she was feeling. We went to another room and we all introduced ourselves. Maribell had her mother sitting next to her holding her hand.

Two important things in one day. I start

“First of all, lets dispense of all the formalities. We are just people. If what I think is going to happen happens, you will be family so please no bowing and no your majesties. Lets have these two start.”

Mica tells us how she had just started doing the palace book keeping. She was learning the ins and outs from the one that was going to retire. It was at lunch when Kile sat at the same table to eat his lunch. He was taken by him on the first sight.

When she said that Maribell sighed. “That happened to me too. The second I saw Brad, I was hooked but it was during the wedding prep for his first wife. She and I were best friends.”

It is nice to see her smiling.

Through talking, all of us parents know that it is true. I speak to her parents.

“Now I understand that you are okay with my son marrying your daughter. I can say that we will welcome her into our family and you also become part of our family’s inner circle. My daughter has just gotten engaged also. They want to get married at the spot we were married at. If I am not being pushy I would like this a double wedding but we now need Gloria and Ryan in here. Kile, would you please get them.”

He leaves so I tell her parents that being ruler of the world has its privileges. I will pay for the whole thing including dresses, suits and all that goes with it for you, your husband and Mica. Separate honeymoons of course.

“Mica one last thing before he comes back. You know that I will at some time step down and Kile will be leader of the world. Lean on us but remember an important lesson. When you need help, that is what family is here for. Make sure that you stand up to him when he needs it. I am not allowed to get away with too much. Just ask Maribell.”

We laugh as the three come in.

I fill them in and then ask if it would be okay to have a double wedding. Kile and Ryan get a taste of what I have just explained. Gloria jumps and hugs Mica telling her it is going to be a excellent day to have a double wedding. Then she strikes terror in my heart.

“Let’s go find Arron.”

Oh shit, but later I am told that she thanked the both but she did not have someone she was interested in that could distract her from her studies.

CNC, the word is now out. History. Two of the three are going to be married on the same day at High Peak. CNC has said that due to their privacy, they will never release the honeymoon destinations of the couples but they wish them well.

If you thought that my wedding was hectic. You should see this. The one major thing is that the drill sergeant has been told to step down. With her being pregnant, her doctor told her that she was no longer young and he will not release her to do all that stress. He nailed home the point that, at her age, now in her forties, she could miscarry easily.

I heard that and called out on CNC for someone to step in. Someone that Maribell approved is now running the show. Very well in fact. She knew every tailor and supplier that will snap to attention when she spoke. There have been a few times that Maribell was politely told to go away. “Everything is under control.”

I have not told her and will never tell her, I value my own life, there is not half the drama of my wedding at High Peak.

Time passes quickly and before we knew it, it was the day that all the guests arrive. This time we made sure that the invitation said that the rule of not coming after the royals arrived is suspended because that they are the son and daughter of Zorn and he will be there all the time.

The weddings went off as planned and everyone had a good time. Both couples were wed by a man who used to be an anti demon cult leader. The cult‘s name was the True Light. Once he was the last human on this continent. He saw all those who he knew enjoying themselves. They would visit him but they would always take the human form just to not upset him.

Finally he reached out to the one person who caused him to start the cult. He sat down with his father who shed new light on his leaving. He found that it was really his mother that poisoned his mind that his father left them. He was no good.

Sitting with him he learned of his father’s research. He really saw the true light. Both he and his father petitioned Zorn for a meeting. To their surprise they were granted that audience.

When they met, the first thing he did was to apologize for his behavior the last time they met. They both tell of his coming to grips that he had been entirely wrong. He asked Brad if he would be the one to do the incantation. Which he did. There sitting is a rare thing. He is a male harpy.

Brad tells him that he is going to be very popular.

The next thing that Brad heard was that he was now preaching peace. Giving his story of ignorance, then the peace. He started to have a following. It was not like he had before. Before was a message of hate. Now his message is of love for everyone.

He got mega donations but always gave away ninety nine percent of it to those who don’t have. He only keeps just enough to exist. He is known to camp out rather than spend for a hotel. This is broken when the same person that he once tried to capture became his mentor. Brad offered him the opportunity to now have someone in BBM monitor and distribute the donations through their philanthropic organization. BBM corporation has a wonderful reputation for just that. It has been a wonderful merger of two onetime enemies.

This is why, when Brad asked him to officiate the wedding, he did not hesitate.

Those two couples were treated to an opening that no one expected. He came out in his harpy form and had an invocation that was so inspiring that it was talked about for years. He announced to the gathered that the three and the two mates were the hope of the world. He told them to celebrate because something wonderful was going to be discovered in their lifetime. It would be at a crisis time and the lost will be found.

It was almost a prediction that these would face a challenge and find the lost ones.

That was what made people wonder,

Who were the lost ones?

A voice from the distant past

They are the three but now everyone is eager to see the two spouses. They want to see Kile with Mica and Gloria with Ryan. It is almost a book makers running bet on how long it will be before Arron finds her mate.

This time they are in their favorite vacation home Elizabeth. It is rumored that the king and queen may stop to pay their respects to the newlyweds.

They were in the England mansion when Gloria just stopped. It is the first time Ryan has seen this but Kile and Arron assure him that she gets messages from other people in the final life. He knows of the connection to her deceased grandmother who will communicate with her mentally to guide her but, on those, she does not freeze.

They have learned that when she has a voice message, you need to heed it. Arron always carries her tablet and immediately starts recording. She tells him that he needs to carry his or his smart phone just in case she freezes when we are not together,

They heard a man’s voice come from her. “You need to go find my Cross Roads. Vital information is there from the beginning of changelings. It is in this land in the hot spring cave.”

When she came back, she tells them “We need to flash back. I need to talk to our parents.”

The three flash back home and call a family meeting. Gloria tells me what has happened. There is no doubting her. She does have that connection with the final life through her grandma Gloria.

“We need to have your grandparents here.” I say and with that, we hear the room flash and Devon, Harcourt and Judith come out. I have them sit down and tell them that something major has happened.

“I’ll let Kile and Gloria explain.”

Kile tells us that they were in the England manor when a male voice came through Gloria. That it almost sounded desperate. Then he asked Gloria to elaborate.

Gloria told us the voice was from the beginning of the changelings. “I need to find a place he referred to as Cross Roads. Our history has said that during Zorn’s time, he had most of the changeling’s flash to this country along with the beginning of the CNC. That was because the humans killed his son and wife.

Now Arron plays the recording of the voice.

Grandma says that his name is Billy Barker. She told me that he wrote his story and had sealed it away. We will find that journal under a rock, in a cave that had a hot spring in it. She did say that, even though it has long since caved in, that journal is still in there.”

“Did she give you any location?” Rose asks

Standing there Gloria again freezes and the male tells us that he can only send a picture of what the surrounding area looked like while he was alive.

Its Devon that suggests that Gloria sent that picture to the CNC and ask our England family is they recognize this vision. She does with the instructions that time may have changed the look somewhat.

We get around a dozen places where the topography is somewhat similar. They were able to whittle down the location to a smaller area. With lidar mapping and thermal imaging, only at one of the locations they were able to see and outline of a very ancient village.

An archaeological dig was started and the items found were dated to ten to one hundred thousand years ago. They did find some items that were that old but looked like they were electronic. They also found asphalt road remnants.

This corresponds to what Billy told Gloria. He told of the store where he got the CD player for Blaze. The finds are what confirms that this is where Cross Roads was.

In that message, that Gloria received, there was a cave almost a day’s walk in the southwest direction. She flew and could see an eroded rocky outcrop. Landing, she is able to see that this is a collapsed pile rather than a solid out cropping.

She flies back and Kile with a few of his generals follows her to the area. They dig and do find the floor of the cave and an area that looked like someone rearranged the rocks to make a tub.

In a trance, Gloria now goes over to a rock and tells Kile to go full wolf and move it. Under it is a sealed clear box. In it was the journal. She did not open it but flashed back to the home.

The corporation had worked and found a way to open the glass coffins without decay. They said that this would be a good test. Either the process would work or the journal would turn to dust. They were able to stabilize it.

They were successful but they all came to Brad. They were shaken at what it revealed. It was Billy Barker, human. It was his tale from age ten. The virus, meeting his wives and being bitten by a mutant. Until that bite, they could not interbreed. They could not change form. After he recovered, he was a universal that could interbreed. Those children would be immune to that virus but they could change from their species to human and back. He said that he was the last human but was told by the gods that the human form was a tribute to him.

It would explain why we have the human form. We never knew anything other than it was just to blend in. Zorn’s chroniclers said that it was humans that killed his child. So the origin of that form had to be forgotten over a long time before Zorn.

The journal clearly says that Billy was the last human. The old yet modern electronic bits. It sounds like civilization had built up to our level or beyond, lost that level so much as to take untold generations to reinvent everything they had.

This will be news that will shake us to our core. I feel that this could lead to war. Not between species, not between class but between those who accept this and those who will hold it a blasphemy.

I make it known, through CNC that it is my decision and mine alone that we will publish the journal in its entirety. Let the chips fall where they may. We shall not hold anything back.

Deep down I already feel that I will regret it.

My gut was right

A deep rift has developed between those who believe it and those who believe that it is an invention that makes an anomalous form real when it isn’t.
