Honeymoon in the old country

Anthony and Regina boldly enter the old country. It is time to finish what the day of hiding started but could not be accomplished until Anthony became whole. Not until he married Regina.

Using their new joint powers, appearing at the border only to find that the guards have a list of people not allowed in. Anthony and Regina are on it but they just walk through the gate

They feel something and now hear the swords dropping on the ground and the guards are frozen by the mere act of touching them with a weapon. The couple turn and scold the guards but show them mercy

“We are eternal and cannot be hurt. We could erase you as you stand but we won’t. Go home and know that you have now come to be noticed by the gods.”

This happens more than once during the short distance from the countries border gate.

Mercy is shown but this time the last ones to try are let go with the instructions of running before them to tell all the guards that we cannot be harmed. The next to try will be made an example.

The next group try and are reduced to a height if six inches. They must run for their lives because now they are potential prey at their new height. More are shrunk even though the guard commander sent a female contingent figuring that we would not harm them. They were shrunk to six inches and were sent to the ones that were shrunk before.

The god of all tells them that they will have a few more joining them. “You and your descendants will never grow any taller than the six inches.

He made a call to the god of time. Time came and collected them.

The two now are starting to be given a wide birth.

Anthony and Regina come upon an impoverished domain ruled by one of the nobles that just so happened to be desperately sick and could not go on the conquest. In other words, he was conniving, scheming and figuring that at least he will control his domain.

The two start helping the people. Giving them food and meat. Healing and helping the people to recover their dignity. They gave a hand up, not a hand out.

The noble with his guards come down to capture the two that have totally upset his reign. The guards recognize the two as the people shrinkers and run. They leave the pompous ass there and he still commands the people to obey him.

The people turn on him but Anthony and Regina prevent them from harming him. They call on the Watcher and ask her to take him on a vacation.

He thinks he is being honored. As she accepts the request, he starts demanding things. She just says one, he continues his demands, two. Finally at eight he demands to know why she is counting. She tells him that is the number of days’ vacation.

Anthony knows and is laughing when the noble demands, because of the stress of his ungrateful subjects’ constant requests for more food, he needs a month.

The Watcher tells him that it can be arranged they both disappear.

Anthony tells everyone to remain here, he is laughing as he tells them that each minute is a year in her time. He demanded a month. She will give him thirty minutes and he will be back here. He will experience thirty years on that world.

He explains that he was shown that world. Barren, lifeless, feeling hunger and nothing to eat. Thirsty and nothing to drink. Never aging, never dying. You feel the pain if you hurt yourself but will heal.

“His mind will never be the same.”

He is brought back but all can see that he is completely insane as he runs off into the woods never to be seen again.

The watcher tells us that in a few days, he will be taken by the god of mercy, his soul healed and be placed on another world. He will live a life that will end with him taking a bullet that is meant for a great changeling ruler.

They are going from villages to towns to the capitol. They are showing the population respect, Helping and for the most part changing the residual leadership to doing good

Finally arriving at the capitol and the remainder of the king’s family. All there try to kowtow to them but again, there is treachery behind the scenes by the ones that are vying for control. .

They use the favorite royal theme, poison in the food

The two eat with no effect but one of the poisoners dies at the table and the others realize that there is another poison plate left.

The two tell them all to eat. “We switched plates. We knew that you were going to try to kill us. We cannot be killed, now eat.” The other one that carried out the plot dies with out even taking a bite. Anthony informed the rest that they did not do the actual poisoning but all are complacent. The remainder disappeared

Now the whole world has been informed, by the gods, that they were kind but just. Compassionate and necessarily brutal when needed.

The world now knows the couple is favored by the gods. The guarded courtesy to others just becomes normal to all. There will always be the malcontent but they are treated with kindness.

They are visited

Anthony and Regina are now an old married couple of five years. In that five years they calmed and claimed the old country. There were some troubles at first but now, his family is not in charge anymore, neither are they.

They are now letting a commission of area elected officials that meet and discuss where the people want the country to go. None of the officials can run again. No career officials. Every year twenty five percent retire and are replaced by new. That way the seasoned show the ropes to the new,

Now the two are more of advisors. They do not want to rule and especially they do not want to be worshiped. More and more they want to just fade into the background. Just when they thought they could do, they now have five visitors.

The god of mercy now talks with us.

“A very long time ago, the first world had a virus that almost wiped out the world. Of the portion that survived, some mutated and preyed on the ones that were not changed. My predecessor removed those mutated healed their souls and put them on other worlds. On the original world , humans died out but the last human had been bitten by a mutant. He was able to mate with any species. They became changeling. Now that world is all changelings. They are a modern society. More advanced than yours.

The other world got a goodly portion of those healed souls. The remaining souls are on this world. She looks a Regina and says that all the humanoid races are those souls but with the twist. “You can produce children with humans.”

The god of all, “We are going to take you to a world called Randan. That is your sister world. They have chosen to remain as you are. We want you to meet them. This will be a surprise to them. Right now, the rulers of the origin world and their families are visiting. It’s time to reunite but we will only take you two. We leave it up to you as to what you want to tell your world.”

They open a door to a wooded mansion. There are a lot of children and adults. Those people came to a halt when they saw the gods appear followed by a felid and human. Everyone gathers.

“It is time,” Terry tells the gathered. “I need Rick and Azael to come forward. Also Brad and Kile.”

We see those people come forward.

“This is Anthony and his mate Regina.” He turns to us. “Rick and Azael are from this world. Brad and his son are the leaders of the original world.”

We all shake hands. Now the god introduces us to the crowd.

“Anthony and Regina are from the world where the god of mercy placed the majority of those mutated healed souls. It was a peaceful world of only humans, those souls were given the ability to change. Almost from the start, those humans were delighted and welcomed the first ones to reveal the true form. That is how they live.

Now the three families are reunited.”

There is a cheer and all come over to us. A lot of handshaking.

Terry speaks again. “This first meeting is to show these two what your worlds are. Anthony is a full human as are a lot of their world. He is a demigod mage as his mate. Regina is a changeling. Their world is almost the same as Randan but less advanced. They need to be shown what Randan has to offer. Then we need to go to the original world.”

Azael sends Ruth to the mansion and has her get a copy of the Journal. She presents it to Regina.

“This book is the journal of the originator of the changelings”

She calls Gloria over and has her tell the tale. Gloria however looks at Anthony and says that he is ancient. Anthony tells her in thought not to say what she wanted to say. Gloria hears her grandmother warn her not to reveal what she has seen.

Gloria now says that he is one of the souls that were from the origin world and smiles. She explains how she received the word from Billy as to where the journal was. That it has been authenticated by the gods.

Kile is looking at his sister and Gloria just nods in affirmation. Then puts her finger to her lips in the shush sign. Later she does tell both Kile and Arron who he is and that the gods will choose when to let him say who he is.

Now Anthony feels that it is the right time and tells the gathering that he remembers being a human on a different world. “I was shot and killed by someone that I loved. It was a society that had all the things that a modern society has.

He looks at Brad “It was on the line of yours. Planes, electricity and such. So I know what is right. The gods have corrected me in my youth as to what I can and cannot introduce into my world. I now know that we are not ready for those advances, yet.”

Regina and I talk to the different groups but then we sit with the core groups from the other two worlds. The gods know what I am going to do but they specifically me to relate the nobles fate.

I tell them of how we had to flee from the kingdom because of my abilities posed a threat to the king. How they killed all those children. They found the story of the shelters funny because they could see that it only was for a day. Shocked on how I used a spell to make each see the others as me.

Their mage wanted me to share the spell but I could see that she got a god alarm. She told me to forget it.

“Regina and I were married after that. We went on a honeymoon to the old country. We found a village that the people were starving and sick because of a bastard noble. The gods put him on a world for a few decades there Then the god of mercy told me that she took him, healed his soul then placed him on another world. She told me that he lived a quiet life until one day, he leaped in front of a great leader. He was killed taking a bullet meant for that leader.”

Brad and his whole group are visibly shaken by what I just said. I ask “What is wrong?”

Brad relates that on his world, a man named Silas Smith jumped and took an assassin’s bullet that was meant for him. He is visibly shaken.

Regina takes his hand in hers and looks into those shaken eyes. “That noble was a bastard in our world that cause nothing but heart ache and death. It seems like the god of mercy left some memories intact. To me, it sounds like he was making amends for all the harm he caused on our world. We will make sure that his tale is finished in our world.”

Brad’s wives come over and hug the both of us. His first wife, Brenda, tells us that she has always wondered why he did that. She always remembers him in her prayers. Now she will also tell him that he his going to be remembered as doing a good thing on his home world.

I do tell them, because of my intimate knowledge of him on our world, “Just know that he was a full human on both worlds. The gods have informed me just now that he was the only human on your world since the last one, Billy, died.

Brad told us that as soon as he gets back, the world will know that there was a true human and he gave his life to protect him. “I will tell the tale of your world’s noble.”

We were shown around the mansion. The children brought us to their machine and I laughed. There was an ice cream machine. I related the trick I played on the imps. I went to the machine and got sprayed. I heard the imps laugh.

“I bow in defeat. Taken down by my own prank. I salute you imps.”

After being shown how the door works. We are given a picture of Brad’s mansion. It is a white large building with what looks like wooden beams on the outside. It really is a stately building. We all step through.

“This is our world.” Brad tells us. “The reason I chose this place is that this is the country that the first was born and died in. We will show you the reconstructed village of Cross Roads and the original site. First I would like to visit our grave site. That is where Silas is buried along with a number of fallen ones are.”

He explained the Connors and the bomb. He did tell us that his daughter’s husband was a Connor. “Most of that family that hated died off. The children, for the most part, were good and were let out of their parent’s curse.”

He tells us, not that I did not notice, that our presence is now known across this world. I interrupt him saying CNC. “It just keeps on talking in my mind.”

We are told how to turn it off and it is a blessing. Regina is confused and asks, “How do you live with that chattering in your mind?”

Brenda tells us that there are generations that grew up with it and feel fine with it. Only those of you that did not grow up with it, seem to be bothered.”

I notice something. While we are being driven around the town, Kile is being the one to point out this or that, not Brad so I ask. “Is the leadership being transferred on this world?”

Brad says that it is. “Even the corporation is being given to our adult children to own and run. Both my wives and I want to retire from this high pressure life. We are just looking for a place that will be out of the way.”

They show us the cemetery and there is the name of Silas Smith. There are people on honor guard there so I speak loud enough for them to hear. Both Regina and I stand to attention and I speak to the stone where his name is inscribed.

“Silas Smith listen to what I have to pronounce. We faced you on our world and your actions caused great pains and sorrow. The gods seemed fit to give you another chance. With what you did here on this world, sacrificing your life to save someone, I hereby acknowledge your heroism and valor. It will be made known of your redemption and made an example to all that even evil can change itself to do great deeds.”

We bow and I see that most are in tears.

After seeing this, we all sit in the mansion and talk.

“There are things on this world that I had in my previous life. Almost nothing here will be allowed to be brought to my world. There are a few things from Randan that we will allow. Now I am going to reciprocate. Brad, I am sending a picture of our mansion. If you would, open a door to it and I invite you to visit.”

He does. The older husbands and wives come but the younger say that they have the corporation to run and the youngest ones have school. They excuse themselves.

They remark that it is more open than Randan but there is a peace here and the fresh air is actually better here. Rick and Azael are very interested in the lights. I tell them to think ask for the plans. They do and are surprised at the details.

“If you improve on it, please let us know but the lamps are all charged by the children as training to control their magic.”

Azael comments that is is wonderful to see real humans walking hand in hand with changelings. She looks at us and smiles because Regina is in her canid form. Regina tells all that they can relax and change into their original form.

All do and there are cheers as humans and the other species see their true form. Some of the females, regardless of human or changeling are looking at him and daydreaming. It’s his second wife Maribell that swats him on the arm.

“Everywhere you go, you get the same reaction. You can’t help yourself, can you.”

We show them around including the shelters. They love it. I can see them talking,. When they are done, it is Brenda that comes over to us.

“If it would be acceptable, we would like to have some outlying area to build vacation homes here. We would also like to discuss travel arrangements and restrictions with your world. Between Randan and our world, we have an official body the can only open between world doors. Visitors must go through them. There have been no one that has violated that. We would like to set up the same.”

I look at Brad, “As long as you do not try to bringing CNC, we are open to the vacation homes. I now feel that I need to make a broadcast.”

Addressing our world, I explain what we have learned. About our world being related to two others. That these are representatives of those worlds. They have opened what they call a door and want to have friendly relations but governed interactions. I tell them that Regina and I have been to both worlds and are comfortable with the interactions.

“Now I must tell you all about that notorious noble who defied the gods.”

I go through the tale of how he saved Brad from an assassin’s bullet. How he gave his own life in that action. “He is now to be held up as a goal to love someone so much that you would give up your life for them.”

The people in our village have gathered and thank the visitors for making this world complete. All are being invited to visit anytime.

We work out the same rules that the others have.

One strange thing but really not strange is that our people all say the same thing. The original world is fun to visit but it is too noisy and too busy.
