Compared to Alternatives
How does Free-eBooks.net compare to Project Gutenberg?
Project Gutenberg focuses exclusively on public domain classics — works whose copyright has expired, typically books published before 1928. Free-eBooks.net includes public domain classics AND tens of thousands of modern books submitted by living authors, giving you access to contemporary fiction, current business books, recent self-help titles, and more. Both services are completely free and legal.
How does Free-eBooks.net compare to Library Genesis or similar sites?
Free-eBooks.net is 100% legal. Every book in the library is either in the public domain or has been submitted by its author with permission. Sites like Library Genesis distribute copyrighted books without authorization, which is illegal in most countries. Free-eBooks.net offers a safe, legal alternative with a large and growing catalog of author-approved titles.
Is Free-eBooks.net a good alternative to paying for ebooks?
For many readers, yes. Free-eBooks.net is particularly valuable for readers who enjoy discovering new independent authors, reading classic literature, or exploring business and self-improvement books without spending money. The library may not have recent bestsellers from major publishers, but it offers thousands of titles across every genre that are completely free and legal to download.
