Xiao yànzi, chuan huayi,
The little swallow, brightly dressed,
Yànzi shuo: "Zhèli de chuntian zuì meilì!"
She replies: "Spring is the most beautiful here!"
Xiao yànzi, gàosu ni,
Little swallow, let me tell you,
Jinnián zhèli gèng meilì,
This year things here are prettier still,
Women gài qi le dà gongchang,
We’ve built large factories,
Zhuang shàng le xin jiqì.
With new machines.
Huanyíng ni,
Welcome,
Chángqi zhù zài zhèli.
And please stay for a long time.
