Candice James is currently in her second 3 year term as POET LAUREATE of the CITY OF NEW WESTMINSTER. She is a Director and Past President of ROYAL CITY LITERARY ARTS SOCIETY, Past President of THE FEDERATION OF BRITISH COLUMBIA WRITERS, Past President of SLAM CENTRAL SPOKEN WORD SOCIETY and Past Director of SPOCAN - CFSW She is the Author of 8 poetry books, A SPLIT IN THE WATER ( Fiddlehead 1979); INNER HEART - A JOURNEY (Silver Bow 2010); BRIDGES AND CLOUDS (Silver Bow 2011); MIDNIGHT EMBERS - A BOOK OF SONNETS (Libros Libertad 2012); SHORELINES (Silver Bow 2013); EKPHRASTICIM - PAINTED WORDS ( Silver Bow 2013); PURPLE HAZE (Libros Libertad 2014); A SILENCE OF ECHOES (Silver Bow 2014). Her 9th book of poetry MERGING DIMENSIONS published by (Ekstasis Editions 2015) will be released in the spring of 2015. Candice is also an Honourary Professor of the Academy of International Arts (Greece); A director of the Muse International (India); a recipient of the Writers International Network Distinguished Poet Award and the Pentasi B Woman of Prestige Award (Philippines). Candice is also a professional visual artist and a professional musician/singer and songwriters with over 100 of her songs recorded and released internationally.
