Backlink Building Phase #3 – Let’s Play The Ball

If you followed the Strategic Link Building System to a “t”, all of your links should be indexed by Google, which is important before you move to the next step.

Before you dive into Phase #3, there is one very important question you need to answer - How many unique visitors per day you are getting to the website?

There are several factors, what Google measures when it decides the ranking for the website. Here they are:

1. On page optimization – all your blog posts should be optimized accordingly,
2. Off page optimization – this is how many backlinks you have and how valuable they are,
3. Activity on your website – how many visitors are visiting your site daily and how much time they spend there,
4. How big are your website – how many pages your website have and how frequently your website is updated.
Comprehensive guide to the factors 1, 2 and 4 you will find in my Blogging Mechanics Special Report – How to Grab the #1 Spot in Google for Your Newly Created WP Blog. You can find it on BloggingMechanics.com.

Now, usually if you do the proper keyword research, if you followed the primary and secondary keyword principle, plus content that you published on forum blogs is what people are really looking for (in order words, it is extremely valuable), you should see at least 20 – 50 unique visitors per day.

However, if you are in a micro niche market, you might not have that amount of visitors I am mentioning here. So, in this case you need to buy traffic.

If you are buying traffic, then make sure that you get at least 75-100 visitors a day for at least 7-14 days, and then you can lower the level to something like 35-50 unique visitors per day.

Get Traffic to Your Website

There are many ways how you can get cheap and in the same time very good traffic to almost any website online. In this section I will give you some ideas and strategies, but since this report is about link building, I will not dive too deep in this.

Google Display Network

One of the cheapest and in the same time fastest way to get tons of traffic to your website is with Google Display Network. In order to achieve good traffic with this, there are several steps you need to follow (also, make sure you do not have AdSense on your blog, if you are going to use Google Display Network).

First of all, if you do not have Google AdWords account, you just need to open it. It will take 2 minutes to do so.

Also, in order to save money, you should find AdWords voucher for $100 or even EUR 100. Usually you can get those on e-bay or some hosting companies are giving those as a bonus when you sign up for their hosting services.

Design Banners

The next step is to design banners for your website. Here is the list of the Google approved sizes –

o Full banner – 468 x 60px
o Leaderboard – 728 x 90px
o Large Rectangle – 336 x 280px
o Medium Rectangle – 300 x 250px
o Square Pop-Up – 250 x 250px
o Small Square – 200 x 200px
o Wide Skyscraper – 160 x 600px
o Skyscraper – 120 x 600px

In my experience the best performing banners are 300 x 250px, but you definitely need to create more then one. If you do not know how to do it or you just don’t want to spend money on this, you can watch my GIMP tutorial here. In this free video you will learn how to create Google standard banners in just 10-15 minutes.

Keyword Research

Next step is keyword research in order to get as many traffic as possible for as little as $0.01 - $0.05 per click. So, for $100 you can get from 2000 - 10 000 visitors, which is really impressive.

Keyword research for the type of campaign you are going to construct is very simple and here is the rule – you want to find as many keywords as possible for your campaign.

Unlike for a standard pay per click campaigns, where you need to find laser targeted keywords in order to create good quality campaign, here you want to find as much keywords as possible and test them.

In order to do that, you can use free Google keyword tool and/or Wordze keyword research tool. The task here is as following –

You need to find at least 4000 – 10 000 highest traffic keywords based on the theme of your campaign.

For example, if you are targeting the Internet marketing niche, you can search for terms – Marketing, Business, Online, Affiliate, Internet, Home based, Blogging and many others.

One of the best ways to come up with the keyword ideas is to go to EzineArticles.com and look on categories. Take the category name and put in the Google Keyword Tool. This will give you tons of different keywords.

However, make sure to keep them according to each topic, as it will be easier for you when you will build ad groups in Google AdWords.

Campaign Settings

Once you have keywords + banners ready, you can go to Google Adwords and set up your first campaign. Here are couple important things in terms of settings for this particular type of campaign:

o Select all countries and territories for location,

o Select only English language (if your site is another language, you can select other),

o Under Networks and Devices – select display network and relevant pages across the entire network. For devices – select all available devices.

o Under Bidding and Budget settings – select manual bidding for clicks and for the budget select $25-$35 per day,
o Under Position preference, delivery method – select Accelerated: Show ads as quickly as possible
o Under Advance Settings – select Optimize: Show better performing ads more often.

Now you can click save and continue to the next step.

Ads and Keywords

When you create your first ad, you just need to select image ad. Than the system will ask you for keywords. Here you can copy and paste from your keyword list up to 2000 keywords. Take the keywords related to one topic only and paste them in the box, as this will be your first ad group.

AdWords will analyze whether all the keywords are according to terms and conditions and those which will not, you can replace with others. Then you will need to select the bidding price. Here I suggest you select $0.03 or $0.05 and then later you can change that to $0.01 or $0.02 (it will depend on how much traffic you will get in your particular niche).

In the next step the system will ask you to upload banners. Here you can upload all of your banners and put your website URL.

This is it for your first ad group. Repeat this step for all your keywords – so, if you have 10k keywords, you can create 5 ad groups.

Then allow Google to approve your ads, it can take up to 2-3 days. Once your ads will be approved, you will start to get traffic to your site.

Then you just need to monitor how much visitors you are getting, so that you can adjust the bidding price accordingly to your needs (how many visitors you need per day).

Amazon Mechanical Turk Method

This method is not so powerful for traffic generation as with Google Display Network, but still you can get good results with it.

Mechanical Turk is the platform which gives you access to thousands of workers, who can do different tasks for you. There are many things that you can do with this system and you can find more information on mturk.com.

Here is how you can use it for traffic generation purposes.

There are 3 steps you need to make in order to activate the traffic to your site.

Here is the first step

o Click Design HIT tub in Mechanical Turn dashboard,
o Pick some of the templates or you can just design your own, o First you will need to add some settings for HIT:

o Give a title of your HIT – for example, Content Review on

Website,
o Give description of your HIT – for example, Copy and Paste URL in
browser, check the information on the website,
o Keywords of your HIT – for example, Internet browsing, article
review, blogging, reading, writing
o Next you need to allocate time for each worker – you can give
something like 2-3 minutes and also, you will need to give expiration
time – usually I select 30 days,
o Next step is Worker criteria – HIT approval rate – greater or equal of 95
percent,
o Next step is Payment for workers – here you can select $0.01 or more
per assignment,
o Next step you need to select number of assignments per HIT. This is
where you select how many unique workers you want to visit your site.
You can select between 100 up to 1000. I usually select 100 and then I
monitor how fast it goes,
o Finally, you need to select after how many days or hours you will
approve the results – since you just need that the person visit your
website, you can select 1 – 12 hours. I usually select 12 hours.

Now, you can move to the next step, which is Design the Layout:

o First you need to give a title of your task – for example, Review The Article and Answer 2 Questions,

o Next you need to give instructions step by step –

o 1. Copy and paste URL in your web browser – here you need to

provide URL of some of your link locations – select one of your forum articles that you created in the Strategic Link Building Phase #2,

o 2. Read the article and find link to the website about …. – here you give instructions to go to specific website – your website,
o 3. Read the article on home page on the website,
o 4. Find link to sitemap and visit the sitemap,
o 5. Answer 2 questions:
§ How many sub headlines is on the website home page? § How many pages are published on the website?

Once you set this up, just click preview and finish.

Here is the last step you need to take in order to get traffic to your site – Publish the HIT –

o Find the Publish HIT and review it once again (make sure that the instructions are simple and clear),
o Review the costs and hit the publish button.
Now you just need to monitor progress of your HIT and make adjustments according to it. For example, if you cannot get as many traffic as you need, you might want to increase the price for the worker, so that they are more motivated to do it.

In addition, maybe you need to set up 3 different HITs – each pointing to one of your forums blogs posts that you create in Strategic Link Building Phase #2. This will give you more diversification of your traffic, which Google will appreciate.

Adf.ly Method

The last method that I want to give you in order to build traffic for your site is Adf.ly method. It is very simple and in terms of quality the lowest of all of these three. But, still you can get some movement on your website.

Here are the steps you need to do in order to get traffic with Adf.ly method:

o You create account with adf.ly,
o Once you log in, you just need to click the link – Create Campaign, o Next, you need to select the country of your traffic and select how many

impressions you want. Currently for US traffic 1000 impressions will cost you $6,

o In the next step you select your website details and make the payment. Once your campaign will be approved, you will get traffic very soon.

The problem with this traffic is that you might get around 1000 visitors one day and on the next day will be nothing. This is not a good thing, so you need to combine all traffic sources in order to get the best result.

There are tens of other traffic sources, so you just need to do some more research regarding this.

Preparations for Link Building Phase #3

Now, once you enabled the traffic to your website, you need to do some more work before you get into the Strategic Link Building Phase #3.

Here is what you need to do:
1. Copy and Paste the ping list in your Wordpress dashboard (you will find it along with the Blogging Mechanics Special Report on BloggingMechanics.com),

2. Set up Ping.fm accounts and install the Ping.fm plugin (you can also use WPSyndicator for this, if you have it),
3. Write 2 articles for each category and schedule the publishing once per day. So, if you have 5 categories, you will need to create 10 articles,
4. Prepare 1 unique articles based on how many pages you have on your site, for the Link Building Phase #3. Articles should be based on some of the previously not used secondary keywords and are something that people are truly searching for (make sure to watch free video – How To Know Exactly What Kind Of Information People Are Looking For On Your Blog).

All these steps are critical for high search engine rankings. Google will monitor the process and will see that your website is growing daily - you have steady visitor flow, you have new content every day and pinging services are giving signals for new backlinks.

This is the true evolution of the website, and Google will reward you for that. This is Strategic Link Building System, which will ensure the #1 spot in Google for your targeted keywords.

How To – Phase #3

At this point - the traffic is coming to your website, the backlinks, which you created in first 2 phases, are indexed by Google, your site is growing rapidly and you have a content ready for the Link Building Phase #3.

Step - #1

1. Create 2 Web 2.0 websites for each of your website pages. For example, if you have 10 pages on your blog, you need to create 20 web 2.0 sites. Here is the list of the sites I use at this stage:

o PR-8 http://www.usatoday.com/
o PR-6 http://www.blogtalkradio.com/
o PR-4 http://ww5.yuwie.com/
o PR-6 http://en.netlog.com
o PR-8 http://expressionengine.com/
o PR-7 http://www.openleft.com/
o PR-5 http://www.bakersfieldvoice.com/
o PR-7 http://www.boomantribune/
o PR-5 http://worldvillage.com/
o PR-4 http://www.gather.com/
o PR-4 http://websitejudge.com/home
o PR-6 http://www.enjoyincubus.com/us/home
o PR-6 http://bravejournal.com/
o PR-6 http://blogs.bigadda.com/
o PR-2 http://www.myindospace.com
o PR-5 http://home.onsugar.com/
o PR-3 http://microbloghost.com/
o PR-9 http://wordpress.com/
o PR-6 http://blogs.abcnews.com
o PR-8 http://espn.go.com/
o PR-7 http://bleacherreport.com/
o PR-6 http://chi.mp/

2. Rewrite the articles and create second variation of it. Make sure it is at least 50 percent unique,
3. Publish 1 article on each of the web 2.0 sites,
4. Create 2 backlinks from each of the articles:
o 1 backlink for respective page on your website – primary keyword of that page as the anchor text,
o 1 backlink for the forum blog post, that you created in the Phase #2,
5. Create 5-10 forum profile links back to each of the WEB 2.0 sites that you just created,
6. Collect URL’s and create RSS feed for each of the locations separately. Once again, make sure to use the title and 200 character long description for each RSS feed,
7. Submit RSS feed to RSS directories.

After you will finish all of the steps in Strategic Link Building Phase #3, you will have enormous foundation for your websites that will crash all your competition for high search engine rankings.
