Leviticus Explained is the third book of the Pentateuch scribed by Moses. Continue in a closer walk with God by understanding what God is really saying.

I think according to the Scriptures, the scapegoat was supposed to be released into the wilderness, but from what I've read, it is true that the Jews released it and pushed it off a cliff to make sure it didn't come back.

Angela Petree

Thank you David, I will research that information about the scapegoat... very interesting... I may have an edit for this...

David Freeman

Very good however it would have gained so much more it it explained what the Jews say about it. For instance in Leviticus 16 you leave the impression that the scapegoat was released in to the wildernes to live, when the goat was released from the top of Mount Azazal's cliffs with a push to its death. Talmud Mishnah, Yoma 6:1-8. David R Freeman

Louise New

I don't think the commentary is accurate.
