00001.jpgEmerging from the Internet era, I fully appreciate its importance in our daily lives.

It provides us with an abundance of opportunities which were not attainable 10 or 15 years ago.

So why should you jump on the bandwagon. What are the advantages of creating your own website?

The internet is Open round the clock - all year round

As I am sure you all know by now, the internet never shuts down. Once your website is online it will be available at any time day or night. This implies that your products, services

and contact information will be available to any prospective customers without them needing to directly speak to you. If they have any queries, they will be able to send you an email to which you can reply at a time that suits to you.

The World Wide Web is truly Global

Your website will be accessible by every single nation anywhere on the globe. In a fraction of a second you will be able to communicate with someone on the other side of the planet!

Unlimited information

You are not constrained to a limited number of words and space. Unlike a physical information sheet, the internet gives you virtually endless quantity of online space to showcase your product or services. Your website could be just one single page or 10,000 pages. It's down to you!

Easily update your content

In the old days, once a brochure was printed, any new changes necessitated a brand new one to be created. Nowadays with a few clicks of your mouse, you can change whole sections of your website and update crucial information like email addresses or phone numbers.

A website is easy to create

If you are a newcomer to the Internet, I strongly advise you to create your own website and not hire a professional developer.

Don't worry if you think that you don't have the technical knowledge or sufficient experience. Creating a website is a lot easier than you might think. There are hundred of ebooks and online courses which will teach the basics of website building.

Following in the footsteps of someone who has been there and knows what works and what doesn't is the best way to start.

You must be in control of every single aspect of your website and not leave its destiny in the hands of others. Think about it for a minute. Do you really want to ask for help (and be charged heavily) every time you want to change some text or insert a new picture?

Making your own website isn't as complicated as you might think. It could soon be up and running without forcing you to frantically learn a complicated jargon of computer codes!

There are 2 options . Creating a website can be a very simple task or it can involve mastering and applying difficult computer languages, then writing the raw HTML codes from scratch. I am going to assume that you are choosing the easy option and don't want to spend time learning a long list of complex HTML computer codes.

Essentially there are two things you must have to build a website:

1) Domain Name

A domain name is simply the name you will choose to identify your website. It is also known as a "web address" or "URL". For example It is therefore important when choosing your Domain name that you select a relevant keyword that people will use to search for your site. Ideally your domain should be a reflection of your site, its products or services. For an annual fee paid to a registrar, you get the exclusive right to use your chosen domain name.

2) Web Host

The next step is to get an online presence. This is provided by a web host. It is basically a company that has extremely powerful computers connected permanently to the internet. For a monthly fee, the web host will rent you out a small amount of online server space to host your web site. Once your website is placed on their server, internet users worldwide will be able to access your site.
Web Building Tools

Once you have acquired your domain name and web host, the next step is to design the web site. Although there are many considerations during the process of designing your website, as a beginner, you must concentrate on getting "an online presence". The precise adjustments can come after you've worked out how to get a basic web page onto your website.

The easiest way is to use HTML Editors like Komposer or CoffeeCup. (I personally use these to make my own website). They are free and can be easily downloaded from the internet. Such editors allow you to design your site without having to worry about the technical jargon. They are very easy to use and function like a word processing software.

Cross Browser Testing

Although you might have created an attractive and functional website, you cannot control which internet browsers will be used to view your site. As each browser performs differently it is necessary that you test your website in a multitude of browsers.

Thankfully, in most instances the variation from one browser to another will be negligible, but sometimes a particular browser could prevent visitors from being able to view and properly navigate your site. The only way to make sure that your website can be viewed correctly in different browsers is thorough testing.

Internet Browsers like Explorer, Netscape and Mozilla Firefox can easily be installed on your PC to test your web pages.

Prior to starting the process to create your own website, I am presuming that you currently own a working computer, which is connected to the internet, together with some elementary software programs like Microsoft Office.

One of the main questions raised by many newcomers to the world of Internet Marketing is "how much does it cost to create my own website?"

The greatest thing about the online world is how relatively low cost it is to set up a website, compared to a "brick and mortar" shop.

In essence there are actually 2 main expenditures:

1. Acquisition of a domain name

The initial purchase is the domain name. This will become the actual name of your site. Internet users will need to key it in their web browser to obtain access to your site. It can also be referred to as a "Web address" or "URL". For example, or

You should really buy your own domain rather than using a free web hosting service. Pretty much all free web hosting suppliers won't put a guarantee on a website life expectancy. This means that your website could suddenly be deleted with virtually no notice.

The price of a domain usually starts from $7 per year.

2. Select a Web Hosting account

Internet hosting is the online place that holds your website and connects it to the World Wide Web. You need both a domain name and a hosting account for your website to appear on the Internet.

... A word of warning...

Make sure that you purchase your hosting from a reliable, trustworthy, large firm. You certainly shouldn't buy it from some mysterious, unheard of company simply because of their cheap rates. You might find out that they abruptly close down not long after you've signed up. Unfortunately, when they shut down, your website will shut down with them!

The monthly price of web hosting is typically $10 per domain name.

So altogether, supposing you already possess a computer connected to the internet, the initial cost for putting your website online would be around $17.

00004.jpgMake your own websites wisely - Don't fall in this trap

Many people seeking to make their own websites are money conscious and try to spend as little as possible. Whilst this is understandable, it often ends up being a "false economy", and can actually be quite detrimental to their website.

If you are seriously thinking about making your own website, pay close attention to this advice: DON'T USE FREE HOSTING! Most people do not recognize the huge drawbacks of free websites. I am only talking from my own experience, but hope to help newcomers avoid a lot of wasted efforts and trauma!

Problems associated with using free web hosting

1. Restricted web site space

2. Unable to include interactive functions (discussions boards, video games, chat rooms, etc.)

3. Not search-engine friendly which in turn will limit your traffic

4. Does not look trustworthy: unfortunately if your web address reads as myfreewebsite+free domain name, your site won't look credible to most visitors
5. Might have pop up ads or banners on your pages (sometimes solely concentrated on your home page) - many people find these irritating and this in turn will cause them to quickly exit your site

6. You might be forced to use the host generic templates - your website won't have its own identity and might look unprofessional

7. Long winded URL address - your domain name will be attached to your host web address. This makes it difficult for your visitors to remember your website's name

8. Very poor (or non-existent) technical support

9. Main problem - Your site could be removed unexpectedly without any notice.

Near all free web hosting providers will not guarantee your site longevity. What it means is that your site can be shut down at anytime (most of the time because the web hosting company runs out of money and goes bust!).

When this happens, to add insult to injury you will find that it is extremely difficult to transfer the site to a paid hosting provider.

Why you should own your domain name and pay for web hosting?

• Much shorter url address and easier to remember eg:
• No pop-ups ads or banners
• Search engines friendly
• You can design your website as you wish instead of using the host templates
• No web space restriction
• 24 hour technical support
Peace of mind - You will not be living in fear of your website being suddenly shut down!

Paying for web hosting is quite inexpensive (from $8 per month). Additionally you can buy your own domain name for as little as $5 per annum.

This small investment is well worth your peace of mind.

Making websites is becoming more and more popular. In that section I will try and respond to one of the most commonly asked question by newcomers attempting to build their first website. "What exactly is HTML"?

The dictionary definition of HTML is HyperText Markup Language.

Basically it is a computer language created to enable web sites creation. When transmitted to a web host, a series of computer codes will permit your website to be seen by any internet users. With HTML you can create your own website.

How long will it take to learn?

Basic HTML is relatively easy to learn. You can learn the basic codes within an hour. Once you know the tags you can easily create HTML pages.

The majority of HTML tags incorporate a beginning and an ending tag. For example:.

<b>this text is bold</b> and this text is not

Learning more in-depth HTML will only necessitate a few days of reading and learning advanced codes. A good online guide to assist you is:

Why using an HTML Editor?

Although it is helpful to know some HTML, when building their first website many people do not want to spend time learning even basic computer codes and choose to bypass writing HTML altogether. In order to create a website they use an HTML editor.

The fantastic thing about an HTML editor is that it works exactly like a word processing software. You can simply write text and format it as you type. This type of software is referred to as WYSIWYG ("What You See Is What You Get"). It simply means that What You See on your computer screen during editing will look very similar to the final online web page.

You don't have to worry at all about coding. A piece of software equipment converts whatever you are creating writing into HTML. For novices who are just starting out it is a real godsend as it allows them to get a new web page up quickly!

Which HTML editor should you choose?

There are many systems available. Personally I always tend to go for the "FREE" option.

Free Editors

Below is a list of some FREE WYSISYG editors. I have highlighted the easiest to use and most popular ones.

AceHTML Freeware
Trellian WebPage
Netscape Composer
Web Weaver EZ
Microsoft Visual Web Developer Seamonkey

Of course more experienced users will want to use more sophisticated systems. Their prices vary but they are a lot more difficult to master and are not really suitable for beginners. The most popular ones are Dreamweaver - $400 and Exite Pro - $300.

I made my own website using Kompozer and found it extremely easy to use.

00006.jpgAs soon as you casted your eyes on the words "computer codes" I can imagine your immediate reaction. This is "dull, boring and complicated"!

However, the truth could not be further. Like most things on the web, it might appear overwhelming at first, but once you have been guided through the process step by step and understand it, you will actually enjoy and make the most of it.

So why do you need to insert computer codes?

Placing an item of computer coding inside your web page will enable it to carry out a specific function.

For example, you may want to have a date on your web page that changes every 24 hours, or show an opt-in form to your potential subscribers, you may want to run a video or even track the traffic coming to your site. The list is endless.

Virtually any function that you want your web page to execute or carry out will necessitate a certain amount of computer coding for it to work effectively.

Basically, this will allow your website to "sing and dance" even more resulting in making it more eye-catching.

It is important that you understand how to insert codes into your computer.

Just to clarify one thing... You don't actually need to write the computer coding itself.

As you probably know computer coding is universally known as HTML. Although nowadays you don't really need to learn HTML, it can still benefit you to know the basics.

As in the majority of the cases, you will NOT be writing the codes, you only need to concern yourself with locating, copying and pasting them in your web page.

Where do you find the codes?

Many software applications will have a section called "get HTML code" which can be easily accessed, for example in Google Analytics or many autoresponders' opt-in forms, etc.

Another method is to do a Google search for the code needed.

How do you insert the codes?

Once you have located the HTML coding, you will need to copy and paste it in your webpage.

A trick I use is to insert a row of XXXXs to the exact location where I want the particular function to appear. Then you MUST ALWAYS go to the source of your web page and paste the codes over the row of XXXXs.

Make sure you save your work to implement the changes and hey presto, you now have a fantastic animated web page!

Inserting pictures

During the process of creating your own website, you will want to insert pictures. They brighten up a webpage and are a great way to show others your work. This in turn makes your website more interesting to read.

If you have a picture that you want to use on your site, you first need to save it somewhere on your computer. (Make a folder on your DESKTOP and name it: PICTURES).

Once you know where your image is stored, it is very easy to add an image to your website. The easiest way is simply to click: Insert – Picture. Alternatively depending on the HTML editor you are using, you can simply click on an insert picture icon.

Never Copy and Paste an image always INSERT a picture.
Resizing pictures

In this section I want to address a common mistake that many newcomers make countless times (I use to do it too!). When creating your own website, it is very important that you familiarize yourself with image size as it will save you an awful lot of time and stress in the future.
Fortunately, resizing images for use in websites is not an arduous task nor does it involve complicated, slow to launch software.

1st Step

Many times, you will find that you have an image you want to use, but it's just not the right size for the web page you are designing. There are mainly two reasons you will want to resize your images.

• To make your image larger or smaller
• To decrease the file size of the image (also known as its properties) - so it loads quicker on your webpage

Most people will simply click and drag on the picture until they get to the height and width desired.

However this is a quick fix - and NOT the correct way to resize your images!

Why clicking and dragging images to resize - is WRONG!

• By doing so, quite often the image becomes somewhat distorted.
• Clicking and dragging the picture only reduces the physical dimension but does not affect the file size of the picture.

In order for your website to upload properly it is important that you understand the file size of the image itself. When you insert images in your website, you don’t want your images to be too big. You should keep them as small as possible, but not too small that the quality is affected.

This is how it works. Images are measured in kilobytes.

1 Megabyte = 1024 kilobytes 1 Gigabyte = 1 048 576 kilobytes

Why my images don't show on my Web page?

If there are too many big sized pictures in your website, they simply won’t load and instead of pictures, your web page will be scattered with red X (see picture on the left) or placeholders of some type (which to be honest do make your website look very unprofessional).

Personally, I try to keep all my images under 100 kilobytes.

Always check the file is a sensible size ie 5-100Kb

2nd Step

To resize an image you need to use software. The most popular one is called Infranview. Download it online at

Quick Tutorial

You first need to locate the picture on your computer. To do so, you need to double click the Irfanview icon on your pc’s desktop. Click on File - Open and Look for your Picture (Figure 1)

00009.jpgFigure 1

To identify the actual size of the image, on the menu bar select Image, then Resize/Resample (Figure 2)

00010.jpgFigure 2

In the example below, you can see the following (Figure 3):

Width = 720 pixels Height = 577 pixels DPI = 72
(DPI = Dots per inch)

This picture is HUGE and will take ages to download. Basically this translates as 10x8 inches. Clicking on properties will show you that the file size is 1.1mg. Therefore we need to considerably reduce its size.

00011.jpgFigure 3

Replace the numbers as follows (Figure 4)

Width = 432 pixels
Height = 346 pixels
DPI = 72

The 72 dpi is fine. The PRESERVE ASPECT RATIO box must be checked; otherwise you will end up with a distorted picture.

00012.jpgFigure 4

You MUST now save your resized image (Figure 5). Use the SAVE AS function. If you merely click SAVE, you will loose your original image. A good practice is to ALWAYS keep the original image so that you can use it endless times on different web pages or websites.

00013.jpgFigure 5

You can now save your resized pictures back in your specified folder. Give it a new name and always SAVE it as a JPEG File (Figure 6). That’s it. You can now insert your resized picture in your website and this time it will download quickly.

00014.jpgFigure 6

Let me now show you an example of re-sampling.

If you look at the picture below, the image size is 134kb (this is far too big and would take far too long to download).

Can you see any difference between the before and after picture?

00016.jpgThe correct answer is: There is no difference!

Both images look absolutely identical. The re-sampled (After) image is nearly 5x times smaller than the original and this will result in the web page being able to load much quicker.

00017.jpgSelecting a suitable site name is crucial when trying to make your own websites.

One of the biggest mistake beginners make time after time is choosing the wrong domain name for their website. This ends up costing them time, money and lots of effort in the long run.

In this article I will highlight the key elements for selecting a good name for your website.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is frequently confused with a URL, but there is however a significant distinction. The URL is the full address of your website and it includes the domain name. For example: www. healthycooking. com.

The domain name is the part between "www" and ".com", so in the above example it is healthycooking.

Your domain name is your foundation for whatever you are trying to build, so unless you are a massive enterprise, like Google, Facebook or Twitter, an SEO friendly domain name is a really important asset to have.

An appropriate domain name should reflect what your website is all about. So for example if you are providing gluten free bread, these keywords should be included in your domain name.

The best domains are those that are an exact match to your targeted keywords. For example if you wanted to promote car insurance, the exact match would be: The words are in the right order so it gives it a 100% keyword density.

If you can't find an exact match domain, the next best thing is a phrase match domain. For example: or If you are still struggling, then you can seek a broad match domain:

Why is it important to get it right?

Along with other factors like back links and content, having the keywords or key phrase that you want to target in your domain name is a key element that search engines consider when trying to rank your website.

Once you understand the importance this has on your web marketing campaign you will not only be able to get faster rankings in less time and effort, but it will also save you a lot of money.

Don't fall in this trap!

Lots of people get seduced by the huge successes of Google, Facebook or Twitter which all have wacky and catchy names. They then try to imitate them and work hard at creating a "super cool" name for their websites, without giving any consideration to crucial keywords or key phrases.

The less optimised your domain is for your targeted key phrase the harder it is going to be to get your site ranking. So including the right keywords in your domain name is crucial to the survival of your website.

As previously mentioned, choosing the right domain name is essential for your website. Unfortunately this is often overlooked by newcomers in their rush to build an online presence.

What exactly is a domain name?

A domain name is simply a Website address. It works in the same way as a house's physical address.

The address itself when read by computer systems is in mathematical data format and known as an Internet Protocol (IP).

When accessed by Internet users it appears under the format (for example): or

Why do you need a Domain Name?

It is an extremely efficient and affordable way to get your website in front of millions of viewers! It is your website's identity and by registering it you are not only securing your brand but also guaranteeing your exclusive rights to it.

You can easily purchase it online for $5-$10 per annum at a domain registrar.

It should be descriptive of your web site

The most important attribute of a good name is that it must be a reflection of your website. If your site is about teaching yoga a good name would be Basically just by reading your domain name any internet user should immediately know what to expect upon entering your website. This also helps in bringing natural traffic to your site

Unfortunately many internet marketers "dazzled" by Internet giants like Google or Yahoo choose some "crazy" names which bear absolutely no resemblance to their website! Try not to fall into this trap!

Brief and easy to pronounce

The rule is simple: the shorter the names the better. To increase returned visits, your chosen name should be short and simple and contain few letters arranged in an easy to read way. Avoid using a combination of letters and numbers or hyphen as it makes it difficult to read.

A long, 50 characters, cumbersome domain name will never catch on as most users won't remember it!

Easy to type and spell

Think about the Internet users who will be typing your domain name. Not many people will have the patience to type a lengthy name correctly. A long, complicated and unfamiliar name would not only be confusing but also more prone to typing errors. Remember, all it takes is one typing mistake for internet users to bypass your site.

Your domain name should be easy to remember so that visitors can easily find it when searching online. As mentioned previously a mixture of letters and numbers is difficult to recall for most internet users.

Names or are poor choice which in turn will make poor brand names.

Last tip...

Always try to go as they are the most desirable extensions.

Whilst I hope that you will find these pointers useful, apart from selecting a suitable domain name there are still many other steps to master to set up a successful website.

When trying to create your own website it is important that it should look as professional as possible. If you have already made the effort to purchase a domain name in the first place - it is definitely worthwhile to have an email address linked to it.

Nothing looks as professional as having an email address that is linked to your domain name as it gives it a very polished and professional look.

In this article I will show you how easy it is to add an email address linked to your domain name.

Before I begin however - I want to quickly clarify one thing.

There are 2 kinds of emails. Internet and Domain based.

What's the difference?

1. Web Based Email

This is usually a free service. The most popular ones are Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail.

To read your emails, you will first need to log into your internet account and then check your messages.

Although there is nothing wrong with using these emails, if you are trying to project a more professional image, it is best to create an email address linked to your domain. Additionally, you will find that domain based emails are generally much easier to remember!

2. Domain Based Email

Once you have bought a domain name, you can subsequently attach a relevant email address to it. For example Bob

Setting up a domain based email is easily done via your hosting account. You will also be able to forward all your emails directly to your computer (Nescape, Outlook) and access them directly from there.

This is how to do it!

Understanding the process

You will need to create a new mail box at your hosting account. This new mail box will have exactly the same name as your new email address.

Let's say the domain is, the new email address could be Bob

Step by step guide

Although there is a multitude of hosting providers, the following steps will tend to be generally the same:

- Log into your hosting account (HostGator, Bluehost, Yahoo, etc.)
(Nb: for those using HostGator, the easiest way to log in the control panel is by typing the following: www. nameofyourwebsite/cpanel)
- Click email accounts
- Add a new email account
- Type in password

You can now access your emails via the web, your hosting account. In order to read your emails on your computer (Outlook, Nescape...) you will need to add the new email address to the relevant email program.

00020.jpgIf you are new to the web, you might in the future want to create your own web page. This article will teach you how to fix an easy pc problem.

Each time you download and install new computer software, system or update, you are making modifications to your pc.

Having said that, perhaps you have downloaded things that you now wish you hadn't?

I am fairly certain that most of us have regrettably done this at some time. I definitely have and can guarantee you that there is nothing more annoying!

All of the sudden, something seems not to work properly on your computer. And the worst thing is that you haven't got a clue what to do about it. Consequently you halfheartedly attempt to fix it yourself, knowing full well that by doing so you could damage your computer even further...

Now there is a fantastic tip that I would like to share with you. It is a little-known feature in Windows named System Restore.

When you encounter problems, use this feature to Undo Changes. It acts a bit like the Undo function in Microsoft Office. You can use it to successfully remove all changes that were made since the problematic download.

The best thing is that System Restore will not impinge on your personal data files such as e-mails, browsing history, favorites or Microsoft Office documents, so any changes made to these files won't be lost.

Having said that, it WILL have an impact on any new programs that you have downloaded.

I will now try to make this even clearer....

If you have previously saved documents on your computer, emails, Word documents, etc., these will NOT be affected and will stay as normal after using system restore.

Any computer software or application installed or updated on your selected date WILL be DELETED.

How does System Restore work?

Windows regularly captures a snapshot of your pc. These are known as restore points.

If it turns out that you have downloaded a software program which has destabilized your pc, you can easily pick a restore point to bring it back to its formerly stable state.

I made use of System Restore recently. I was trying out a brand new sound recording software which for some reasons modified many of my settings. I restored my pc to the previous 24 hours, and everything worked OK!

This is how to do it:

1. Click Start
2. All Programs
3. Accessories
4. System Tools
5. System Restore
6. Select Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time

7. Select a restore point - A calendar will display in bold all the dates that have restore points available.

In order to create your own website effectively, you might have to download and install a couple of software. Make use of the System Restore feature whenever your pc start acting "funny" following a download.

"Failing to plan is planning to fail"

If you are a newcomer wanting to create your own web page, it will be beneficial for you to read this article, as it will save you a lot of sweating and struggling. Although this might seem trivial, in the next few paragraphs I will address probably the most frequent mistake I see many “newbies” (and sometimes oldies) make when starting a new website.

I would like to make you aware of something that is only going to take you about 10 minutes to understand....

However once you grasp it, it will save you a great deal of stress and frustration

Question: What is by far the most frequent mistake beginners make when creating their first website?

Answer: NOT SAVING their computer files properly.

As I mentioned previously, I understand that it might seem insignificant to most people, but unless you want to experience hours of stress and frustration, you should start implementing this as soon as you start your website. Believe me when it comes to uploading your site it will matter!

On countless forums I have talked to many people who admitted that they were slowly drowning in a chaotic sea of countless computer files. They were either unable to locate something they had created or were vaguely aware of the whereabouts of a specific item.

You must get into the routine of saving your computer files properly. You need an organized system, just like you would if you were filing paper based documents.

There are 2 significant reasons for this:

Pictures and files that are saved wrongly might not display on your website

Many times I have come across websites where you see a red cross instead of a picture. This makes the site look very unprofessional.

The problem is that incorrectly saved pictures will display whilst you are designing your website, but will not show up on the web!

Properly and effectively saved computer files are super quick to locate

You should be spending your time efficiently by creating content for your site, not wasting it by looking for missing pictures files!

There is really only one rule to be followed: SAVE all the contents of your web page in the SAME location:

You MUST create a New folder on your computer for each and every web site you create. For example if your new website is about gold nuggets, name the folder "Gold nuggets".

SAVE ALL CONTENTS in this folder: - pictures, videos, text, banners, etc....You can also create sub folders in the main folder (eg, images, videos, articles, etc.)

In most applications creating a new folder is done simply by selecting: File - New Folder and naming the folder.

To create your own website effectively, it is essential that you get into the routine of saving all your website content (images, text, etc.) in the same folder.

So you have finally decided to move with the times and enter the big wide word of the internet. It is certainly an exhilarating and somewhat "dazzling" place to be in. Everything moves at an "ultra fast" pace. Absolutely everything and anything that you are seeking or even dreaming of can be found on the internet.

As with all good things whilst there is a host of benefits there is sadly always a downside...

Like burglars breaking into a "brick and mortar" shop, your website could come under attack from people wanting to steal from you.

Computer hacking is the process of changing a computer hardware and software components to undertake (in many cases) criminal activities.

Hackers are working hard to gain access to private information, modify financial data files, destroy security codes to get illegal system entry or carry out many others damaging activities.

When you are browsing an unsafe website on the internet, viruses such Sypware and Adware could be installed on your computer without your knowledge and have damaging repercussions on your PRC.

These are typically known as malware.

Spyware is secretly placed on the user' computer and gather information and data. It picks up various kinds of information, like which websites are frequently visited by the users. It can also hinder the proper use of the PC by automatically re-directing the user to certain unsavory websites, and preventing him from properly installing any additional software system.

Spyware is also capable of altering computer settings, causing sluggish connection speeds, modifying home pages and damaging the overall performance of your computer.

Its existence is concealed from the user, thus making it hard to identify.

Adware works along the same lines. Once maliciously installed on a user PC, it will start altering its settings and harm its functionality in a matter of seconds. You will find that automatic displays (advertisement or others) suddenly pop-up on your computer

Although there is a large variation of this kind of harmful adware and spyware viruses, the most widespread is the Trojan. Once infiltrated on your computer it is exceptionally hard to delete.

Prevention and detection

You must protect your PC by investing in a good antivirus program. The most popular ones are Norton, McAfee VirusSacan and Trend Micro PC-Cillin. If you were to visit an unsafe website, your antivirus will detect and block the infiltration of dangerous adware and spyware programs.

Additionally, you should frequently review your antivirus software and install any relevant updates.

So you have decided to try and give this whole "web thing" a go! You are now asking yourself the question where do I start? "How do I make my own website?" Like many beginners, you have promised yourself to do whatever it takes to get it right.

May be you are just "floundering around" picking-up a little bit of knowledge here and there, but nothing that joined-up-the-dots, and so you cannot make a proper start. Well, if you don't want to find yourself among the thousands, who continually start over and again and then eventually give up it is a must that you start on the right foot.

What you need is to learn how to set-up fundamental building blocks. The best and easier way for you to achieve this, is for someone to actually show you how to do this in a simple, honest and understandable way.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the teaching skills necessary to do this. Some well renowned and so-called "Gurus" who are successful marketers are unfortunately "poor teachers".

The main advantage of having a good website mentor is to teach you how to make your own website the right way first time around. Of course, you could have a go at it yourself and "dive in head first" like many beginners, the problem with this is that you could easily fall victim to information overload and soon find yourself like many newbies "slowly drowning in it".

With so much information coming from all directions and no clear structure after a few months and a few "false starts" you could find yourself right back to square one.

A good mentor will guide through the whole process of setting-up your own website stepby-step, whilst allowing you to move from strength to strength. This step by step approach will make things clearer in your mind.

A good Internet marketing coach will not only teach you all the tools and knowledge necessary to start online but also support and motivate you during your journey.

There are a few criteria you need to keep in mind when selecting an Internet mentor or coach. Look for one that allows you the ability to ask questions. Some of the best mentors give you unlimited access to their expertise and will answer all your questions. This is important if you are just starting out, because you will often need answers on how exactly to do something.

Also look for the support and service provided during the course. Some programs offer 24 hour support and others even have Forums where you will not only get support but exchange ideas with like-minded people.

Online coaching is in great demand theses days. The simplest reason for that is that it really works.

00024.jpgLearning comes first

If you want to run any sort of web based business you will definitely need your own website or web property at some time. Your very first question will then be "how do I make my own website"?

Building a website on your own may seem a difficult task for beginners but if you get the proper guidance you can easily make a good website. You just need to follow a few important steps. The good news is that you only need to master these individual skills once and them you can just re-apply them onto new projects.

I will now let you in a secret which is an absolute must for all beginners. Let's be honest here, you are not trying to re-invent the wheel, but are only trying to make creating your own website as easily and plain-sailing as possible. So what is the solution to this dilemma?

The answer is to follow a tried-and-tested method. You need to follow in the footsteps of a successful teacher or mentor who has a proven track record. Following a working established model instead of battling on your own will save you months of sweating and struggling.

The main advantage of having a good website mentor is to teach you how to make your own website the right way first time around. Of course, you could have a go at it yourself and "dive in head first" like many beginners, the problem with this is that you can then easily fall victim to information overload. Too much information is coming from every direction. Too many people are telling you to do this and that with no clear structure and after a few months and a few "false starts" you could find yourself right back to square one.

To make your own website, there is an easy step-by-step process to follow. The support and your coaching insights through the whole process of getting your site set-up will not only be interesting but also vastly enjoyable and great fun. Instead of struggling on your own, you will find yourself receiving and sharing invaluable suggestions and feedback to keep you on track.

Whilst reading, watching and listening to your teacher you will found yourself saying things out loud like, "to make my own website that way makes so much more sense".

There is no doubt about the fantastic sense of achievement felt when you have finally built that first website, believe me it is a really good feeling.

00025.jpgMany people attempting to create their own websites make the mistake of not seeking help when they most need it.

Because they somehow believe that they are the very first person to encounter a specific problem or even that their problem is "so small" that they should be able to work it out themselves.

This is totally wrong. Almost everything has already been "tried and tested" on the internet.

There are loads of people who have come across very much the same problems as you.

A large number of them have already raised and circulated their queries many times across the internet.

Save yourself some valuable time

Why would you want to spend hours if not weeks sweating and struggling over a problem, when the answer is quietly "sitting" on the Internet? You should not waste your time and energy trying to figure out a problem, when other people have already done the hard work for you.

How to find the answers to your queries

Search engine search

Type your query directly in Google and go through the results. If the results are too broad and you are seeking more specific answers, key in your query between quotes. For example "how to speed up computer"
Yahoo! Answers

This is the biggest knowledge-sharing online community. In essence it is a question-andanswer service. It is a fantastic place where people can ask and reply to questions on any subject. In order to get access to this site you will need to open a Free Yahoo account and supply an email address.

Discussions boards/forums

Another smart thing to do is to reach out to people who are in a similar position as you.

By becoming a member of a forum you will not only find answers to your questions, but you will also discover new tools and techniques and receive plenty of good advice from like-minded people. Make sure you find the right forums. To be effective they should be closely related to your area of interest.

Personally I love forums and use them on a daily basis to get new ideas and read people's opinion on specific products.

In the Internet Marketing field my favorite forums are as follows:

• Warrior forum . (This is by far the biggest and most popular forum in that market.

It is an absolute gold mine!)
