Book Description HTML

Most of Curwood's stories were adventure tales set in the Canadian North, where the author spent much of his time. During the 1920s his books were among the most popular in North America, and many were made into movies. The River's End was the first book to sell more than 100,000 copies in its first edition.

It started off promising for me; Canadian, adventure, mystery, love and of days gone by. The second story similar to the first with name and scenario changes. Third? Forth? Then I quit reading it... I saw a pattern which I now refer as Northern Canadian harlequin romance novel. Not a fan of Harlequin Romances. Gave the book a 3 since it mentioned my hometown.

stirringly told, haunting at times, with always that glimmer of belief in life. Delightful.
