Book Description HTML

Contaminated groundwater is hazardous to the health of individuals and the environment at large. It is therefore essential to assess every water before it is deemed fit for human and wildlife consumption. One major threat to the quality of groundwater is open dumpsite. During decomposition of organic and inorganic waste, some toxic chemicals are being released into the environment. These toxic substances might either percolate through the soil profile to the aquifers and groundwater sources or they might be transported through erosion (runoff) to a surface water or emitted into the atmosphere during incineration and evaporation, thereby contaminating these useful components of life.
