“A Place for Winners” evolved from blog posts via Sweepstakes13.com. Our initial intent was to create good quality content for our directory.  At the same time we wanted to share and present the different aspects that surround the Sweepstakes and Contest world.  Sweepstakes and Contests are extremely broad as they can involve anything and everything.  They also branch off into closely other related area's like Giveaways, Drawings, Competitions, Free Stuff, Freebies, Freebie Jeebies and so on.

This book is an informational education tool to help you become a better “Sweeper” and to increase your chances of winning more Cash and Prizes. Some of this book is repetitive but for a purpose.  The goal was to combine and make a collage of our blog posts to drive certain points home.  By the end of this book you should have a good understanding of the Sweepstakes and Contests World.  Along with a few important tips you can keep in your back pocket for the future.

Top Tips for Sweepstakes and Contests

Okay, so you want to start entering Sweepstakes. Your excited and dream about all the cash and prizes you can win. You spend the next 4 weeks entering everyday and nothing happens? Do not give up though. Many people do give up and that is where you hear "Nobody wins, they are not for real" and so on. To win and win often you need to be patient. Again, we can not stress that enough. Winning your first prize could take months. The only way around that is to keep entering until you win. All those entries will eventually start to pay off sooner or later. Are you guaranteed to eventually win a new house or car if you keep entering Sweepstakes? No, of course not. The excitement and rush you do get from winning even a smaller prize is amazing. If you get bit by the "Sweeps Bug" after your first win, then your hooked for life!

A good foundation always makes a much better outcome. Being organized when it comes to entering Sweepstakes is a MUST.

We suggest putting together a spread sheet. Keep track of all your Sweepstakes you have entered and continue to enter. Using the spreadsheet along with setting up a Sweepstakes 13 Free Membership will make things much easier for you. Having the spreadsheet will serve many purposes like knowing what you have won in the past, tax reasons, are you winning more one-time entries verses daily, and so on. You will want the name of the Sweeps, sponsor, contact information, entry page, frequency you can enter, start and end date and dates, plus the dates you have entered already. It is up to you as to the information you want to track but keeping some type of tracking system will help you out in the long run.

Keep the solicitations in check - It is much advised to set up an email to use just for sweepstakes entries. That way you are not plugging up your personal email if that address ends up getting spammed. You know to look to that address only for winning notifications as well. There are a ton of opportunities to get a free email address and we go into that further down in this article.

RoboForm is a MUST for Sweepers. But also for entering any forms. RoboForm saves your entry information so you do not have to keep typing it over and over. If you enter Sweepstakes and Contests everyday RoboForm will be a much welcomed blessing. You can try RoboForm for Free.

Layout a schedule for entering Sweepstakes, Contests, Giveaways etc. and stick to it.

Entering consistently means more entries - More entries increases your odds for winning. Set a goal or a minimum amount to enter each day. If you are busy like most of us are, then be selective and only enter the ones you really want to win. A day with only a couple of Sweepstakes entries is a day with no entries. Just make sure you set aside time everyday to make entries. If you happen to miss a day or a couple of days do not sweat it. Just jump back into it as soon as you can and keep plugging away.

Speed and Rhythm - The less time you waste with entering forms, the better. That is one big reason why using RoboForm is so crucial. Like the saying "Time is Money". The more Sweepstakes you can enter in the time you have blocked off for yourself, the more you could win. You want to hurry but do not go to fast. Remember, you should read through the rules, especially if you are just starting out. After you have done it for a while you will be able to fly through the rules and know exactly what to look for.

What type of entry Sweepstakes are the best odds for entering? - Daily, Weekly, Monthly? If your schedule does not allow you to enter frequently then enter Sweepstakes that only allow one entry per person would be your best bet. If you can actually enter Sweepstakes daily that allow it, you are better off then most people. Most people do not enter Sweepstakes on a daily basis that allow it.

A sweepstakes strategy helps you cut down on wasted time, while avoiding duplicate entries. Here are some tips on setting up a strategy that works for you:

Before you enter a sweepstakes for the first time, be sure to read through the rules first. There is nothing worse than wasting time entering a sweepstake that you can't win because you're not eligible. It would not be a nice feeling knowing that you have been selected as the winner but can not collect the prize because you did not read the rules correctly. Read the rules always, especially if you are new or if it is a Sweepstake you are not familiar with.

Several Sweepstakes will give you the option of receiving more entries if you refer the Sweepstakes to your friends, family, and social media. Using referrals is a great way to increase your odds of winning.

There are always more sweepstakes to enter then there is time to enter all of them. That's why it's a good idea to narrow them down and focus only on the main Sweepstakes you want to enter. When you select a Sweepstakes to enter, you will always look at the prize first. Then take a step back and think, "Do I really want to win it?" Next, you will want to take a look at the odds of winning. Look to see if there is something about the Sweepstake that gives you an advantage. The sweepstakes with the prizes you want to win the most and the ones where the best odds of winning are what you will want to enter first.

Try and not to get hung up on certain Sweepstakes you want to win. Some people get their hearts set on winning one particular Sweepstake. When that does not happen, you feel disappointed and discouraged. Keep in mind there are always plenty of Sweepstakes to enter.

Simply, fill out the entry form and send them in. Forget about what you just entered and then move on to the next one. If you win, you'll be pleasantly surprised and if you don't, you won't feel badly about your entry. Always be looking ahead when you enter sweepstakes. Looking back too much is wasted time. Use that time to move forward.

The key to moving forward is moving forward with a positive attitude. You need to keep entering even though you know the odds are stacked against you. Holding on to an optimistic outlook will keep you going through the ups and downs. Every Sweeper no matter how experienced they are goes through that.

When it comes to luck you will hear many theories like "You were born with it" or "There is no such thing, it is all by chance". Does it seem like some people are luckier than others, yes it does. However, to change your luck or fate as it may be there are some things you can do to alter the outcome.

A common mistake for sweepers is not providing accurate contact information. If the sponsors can't get in touch with you to tell you about your win, what is the point of entering to begin with? Email: Get an email address just for entering Sweepstakes. Gmail and Yahoo offer them for free as most of us know already. That way, if you move you can always keep it. There is nothing worse than using a an email to enter Sweepstakes then having to change it after entering several Sweepstakes. Then you win, but you can not be contacted.

The same goes for a phone number. You can get Google Voice for FREE. You really only need a phone number for inbound calls and for voice mail messages. Messages telling you that you have won of course! Google Voice has other features but focusing on the inbound, you can take calls with your own personal Free number that you have selected along with setting up voice mail to collect messages. The great thing about it is the messages can be emailed to you so you do not have to keep checking the actual voice mail. So your Sweepstakes email and phone all are connected into one. However, you can still have it forwarded to ring into your cell or home phone if you want. It is inbound, so they will never know those numbers it is being forward too. Finally, NEVER EVER use your personal email or cell/home phone numbers when filling out forms. Most of them will say in the rules they will never sell or give your information to a third-party. Unfortunately, that is not always true.

The key is to check your email, phone and snail-mail daily. Really check through because with snail-mail or even email, some winning notifications can look like junk-mail and it is not.  Educate yourself and be a smart Sweeper. There are many scams out there that feed off of people like you everyday who have a big thirst for winning. Often scams have some factors in common that will help you distinguish them from real wins.

Here are some things to look for:

Sweepstakes Scams Require You Pay to Receive the Prize - Legitimate Sweepstakes are always free. Period

Sweepstakes Scams Use Free E-mail Accounts - Some smaller Sweepstakes might use free email accounts.  However, when you receive a win notice from a larger Sweepstakes like HGTV and they are using a free email address. It is not legit. Delete it.

Sweepstakes Scams Tell You You've Won - But You Don't Recognize the Contest?- This is where keeping a good tracking system comes in. A quick glance at your spread sheet will tell if you have entered that Sweepstakes. If you have not entered it before then you know it is another scam.

Sweepstakes Scams Send You a Large Check with your Notification - If you have won a cash sweepstakes all legitimate sweepstakes require signed and many times notarized affidavits before sending out any prize valued of $600 or more. The affidavit is to confirm that the information you submitted on your entry form is correct. The sponsors may also ask and have you confirm that they can publish your name as the sweepstakes winner for publicity purposes.

Sweepstakes Scams Instruct You to Wire Money - Again, with a legit Sweepstakes you will never have to pay to enter or accept a win.

Sweepstakes Scams Pressure You to Act in a Hurry - Chances are if they want you to act in a hurry is because they want money. Occasionally they might have a question and that is fine to answer. Questions are not fine if they are asking for your bank account number.

Sweepstakes Scams Require Bank or Credit Card Information to Receive Your Prize - Legitimate Sweepstakes will never send money through direct deposit or will need to withdraw money from your account. The only other personal information they should ever need is your Social Security number.

The "Win" is From a Lottery - To win the lottery you need to buy a ticket. Any lottery will never contact you if you have a winning ticket. You need to contact them with the winning ticket.

Sweepstakes Scams Often Don't Use Your Name - If you receive a notice by email or snail-mail that you have won and it is not addressed using your name it is a for sure scam. Scams like that send them out by the thousands. Often from purchased email lists without names.

Sweepstakes Scams Can Pose As Government Organizations - Government organizations will not be involved in awarding sweepstakes prizes.

Sweepstakes Scam Notifications Are Usually Sent Via Bulk Mail - A legit win notification will often be sent by first class postage or services such as FedEx or UPS. They want to make sure it arrives on your door-step in a reasonable amount of time. Bulk email is always sent the cheapest way possible. The scammers want to send as many out as they can for the least amount of money.

Sweepstakes Scams Contain Many Typos - This is a very common red flag. Many Sweepstakes scams originate outside of the US. Typos can happen from time to time. However, most of the time the errors you will see when it comes to a scam are so blatantly obvious. Usually it is not just one but many.

Network with other Sweepers - A great way to get to know other Sweepers is visiting a Forum or Chat Room. You can always learn something new and the in's and out's of Sweeping from a different point of view.

Sweeping can be a very fun hobby - Have fun playing the games, learning about new products and getting to know other Sweepers like yourself.

If you have not done so already, make sure you sign up and get your Sweepstakes 13 Free Membership. You will have access to hundreds of the Latest Sweepstakes and Contests, updated daily 24/7. Sweepstakes & Speed = WINNING!

The faster you can enter Sweepstakes the better are your chances of winning. Yes, it is true. Faster sweepstakes entry is crucial if you want to up your chances of winning.

Just to clarify when we say "faster" we do not mean being the very first person to enter a specific Sweepstake. When are referring to "faster" we are referring to the amount entered. The more sweepstakes you enter the better your chances are to win.  It's that simple. With speed, when you enter a large number of sweepstakes on a daily basis, your odds of winning rise tremendously.  Time is really the key but no one has an unlimited amount of time to spend entering sweepstakes and contests. It only makes sense to optimize your time so that you can get the most entries possible in the time you have available.

Here are some tips that will help you enter sweepstakes faster so that you can increase your chances of winning.

Roboform is the tool that you must have.  It will help you enter sweepstakes much faster. RoboForm stores and saves your entry information so that you can fill out the majority of all entry forms with one click.  It saves you from doing a ton of typing and the risks of making a typo that could prevent you from receiving win notifications.  Wouldn't that be a bummer knowing you missed out on that $5000 a week for life when your name is selected for the PCH Sweepstakes.  You can even download Roboform and try it for free.  However, the upgraded version is totally worth the $29.95 it costs to use it for a lifetime.  They also have downloads for both PC and Mac for your convenience.

Most computers now days are easy to multitask with.  Having several screens open on your task-bar at one time is common for most people.  Keep in mind that keeping those screens open can and will slow your computer down.  That will vary depending on your RAM, Bus Speed and Hard Drive etc. Sweepstakes will load faster if your computer is not slowed down by other programs. Close any unnecessary windows on your computer and task-bar, leaving only the browsers open for entering your selected Sweepstakes.  By doing that, your pages will load faster, increasing your speed for entering sweepstakes.  If you find yourself dealing with a dragging computer when you have several windows open you might seriously want to think about beefing up your computer.  The easiest way is adding more RAM.

Be prepared and have a list ready of Sweepstakes to enter.  That way when you are ready to start entering them, you can enter much faster.

We usually open about 6 to 8 Sweepstakes pages at once so that they can start loading.  Then it is best to start with the ones that load the fastest, filling out and submitting their entry forms.  By the time you get through a couple Sweepstakes entries the other pages will have finished loading.  This will shorten on the waiting time, allowing you to have as little downtime as possible during your entry time.

Many Sweepstakes, especially instant wins, will let you play a game to find out if you're the winner.  Games can include running a race, spinning a wheel, sinking baskets, or gathering icons for prizes.  How well you do has nothing to do with your odds of winning or not.  Not to worry, many of them will not force you to participate.  You can enter these type Sweepstakes much faster if you look for a link that is something like "Can't see the game?"  Clicking that will tell you right away whether you have won or not.  In turn, speeding up the entry process.

There are those Sweepstakes that will slow you down every time you try to enter them.  It could be page load time or the length of the entry page.  You might want to consider removing these Sweepstakes from your daily Sweepstakes list.  If the prizes are really good then it might be worth the effort to enter.  If not, replace them with Sweepstakes or Contests that have faster entries. It really boils down to what works for you and what's more important to you.

There are many pet lovers out there.  All you have to do is get your contest up and going.

Shoot to Win – Video Contests

One of the biggest reasons Video Contests have become so huge is because of the cost of camera's.

Plus, the size of the camera's makes is easy to always have one close by. Video Contests are a great way to compete for great prizes and cash. Video Contests get everyone involved through laughter and tears with an emotional connection. Then those viewers tell their friends about it, and they tell their other friends. The trickle down effect. That is the best form of advertising for companies and Video Contests.

Video Contests have some of the greatest odds if you are going to enter a Contest.

Here are some helpful tips for entering Video Contests. The more knowledge you have going into it the more you will increase your odds.  Read the rules very carefully before you do anything. That is a must when you start planning on entering Video Contests.

Find out the time frame: How long you have to create and submit your video?

Length of Video: If and what is the minimum and maximum length it has to be?

Submission: Do you have to submit a tape or does it have to be in hi-definition.

Other Considerations: Do you have to add music? Is there a certain genre it has to be in?

Video Contests rules and requirements could be varied in many different ways.

The Judging for Video Contests: The next important thing to know is how the Video Contest will be judged. Video Contests like all others will have specific guidelines to go by. The Video Contest rules and judging requirements along what they are looking for will sometimes blend in together.

You have read the rules and know how you will be judged. You have all the requirements and know what the sponsor is looking for and have an idea how the winner will be selected.

You might want to do a little research. Who are the people doing the actual judging? Will it be a panel of judges hired by the sponsor and what is their background? Will the Video Contest winners be determined by voting that's open to the general public? Knowing this ahead of time can sometimes give you that little extra edge.

Once you found out all the details its time to plug in all that information and come up with an idea? Now there are many suggestions we could throw out there for you to build on but we feel it's better for you to gather the information you have collected so far and build from what comes to mind.

A few basic vague tips we will tell you is you need to get your audience's attention right away. You need to reel them in and keep them there until you decide to let them go. What you really want to strive for is to have them wanting to keep holding on and wishing your piece would not end.

Since this is a Video Contest and there is always at least one sponsor. You will want to impress them especially. Many times some of the judges will include a representative from the sponsoring group or company. If it's appropriate, you might want to mention the Video Contests sponsor(s) in your piece of work. Another option would be to use one of their products as a prop, or even just have it in the background. Example: you have a has seen where a couple is sitting at the kitchen le inside a house drinking some soda. The sponsor happens to be Coke. You might want them drinking a Coke product. Whatever you do, make sure it is not Pepsi.

You have written, shot and edited your video. The final product is in hand but you double-check to make sure that you've followed all of the Video Contest guidelines. Very important. It is very common now a days for Video Contests to have you upload your work. That is the case for this particular one, so you upload your video.

To enter Video Contests you no longer need a super expensive video camera. Technology has changed so much along with the high-end quality of electronics. Now everyone can produce professional looking Video's at an affordable price. Some entries that have won in past have even been made from cell phones.

Win a New Ride With a Car Sweepstakes

You have just won a Car Sweepstakes, it seems to good to be true. You have been entering several Car Sweepstakes and finally you hit. Now what? “Time to pay some Taxes”

A Car from a Car Sweepstakes is among the most popular Sweepstakes to win. What person would not love to win?

Keep in mind when you enter Car Sweepstakes is the taxes. Winnings from a Car Sweepstakes or other Sweepstakes can be considered a source of income. That is the law for US residents. For other countries different rules may apply.

You are the lucky winner of Car Sweepstakes amongst hundreds if not thousands of entries. You have a new car and your life could not be going any better. However, a new car can be a real pain if the winners don't prepare themselves for the taxes. The amount you will owe depends on your circumstances, but you can estimate taxes around 1/3 of prize value and that is for any Car Sweepstakes. A $40,000 car for $12,000 is a great deal, but you still have to come up with the money to pay the taxes.

Once you have confirmed the win and you get the Car, you need to find a good accountant. Anytime you get a large win like a Car or cash amount you should always consult with a tax professional. A CPA or accountant can give you advice that is tailored to your specific situation, which is vital to ensuring that you are properly prepared. Do not hesitate or procrastinate, make sure you get an accountant right away.

Winning a Car Sweepstakes is not like winning a gift certificate.

Remember that your Car Sweepstakes win counts from the day you receive it, not from the date of your win notification. Especially in the case of large wins like a Car Sweepstakes or truck, it can take quite some time for your win to be verified and your prize to be delivered.

Here are your options: You can walk away from the car and wash your hands of it? Are you kidding me! Everyone is saying, "how could you walk away from it?" Again, remember you have to pay those taxes on it. So, unless you have the money for the taxes, that is an option as crazy as it may sound to some people. We know it does not seem right that when you win you have to share it, but you do unfortunately.

Find out the Fair Market Value (FMV) of any Car Sweepstakes and any sweepstakes prize. The FMV could be far lower than the Approximate Retail Value (ARV) listed by the sponsor - especially if it takes a while for you to take possession of the vehicle. Car values drop after the new car models come out each year, so that 2013 model you won might be less expensive when you take possession in 2014. The minute a car is taken off the lot the value drops immediately. Make sure that your taxes are fair and accurate by finding the lowest possible FMV.

So now you know the market value, what its worth and the taxes. You still need to come up with a good chunk of money but do not want to touch your nest egg that you have been working on for years. Again, winning a Car Sweepstakes sounds great but you have to be realistic. It is so easy to get caught up in the moment.

The other option would be to is to sell the car. Look at it this way, no matter what you can get for it, it is all free money. You will still end up with several thousand dollars. Another option is to try to get the car dealer you're getting the car from to buy it back from you. There is a good chance you will get the best rate. Always make sure you get the market value, despite what any car salesman might try to say to you. Just be ready for it because some salesman will do whatever they can to get that extra buck. This way you end up with money in your pocket and the taxes are paid. Some word of advice would be to get the money, and send it out for the taxes before you have time to think about it. There are other possible options like getting a loan for the taxes. Do you really like the car or would you like the cash? As you can see there is a lot to take into consideration when entering a Car Sweepstakes . Winning a Car Sweepstakes can be a blessing but it can also be some what of a curse.

Instant Win Contests are for Those Who Lack Patience

Instant Win Contests - Do you lack patience? Then Instant Win Contests are for you. If you are new to the Sweeping scene they are actually called Instant Win Sweepstakes. However, many people refer to them as Instant Win Contests as well. Either way, they are free, fun and give you immediate gratification. It is kind of like scratching of that ticket. When you win, even just a few dollars, you want to keep on going. With single or daily entry Contests though your going through the same motions, it does not have the same appeal as Instant Win Contests. They will always have a ton of prizes that makes you want to enter more and more - even after you have won.

Pursing Online Competitions

Entering Online Competitions and winning is always a fun, and exciting experience. Now with online competitions becoming so popular, and a wide variety of Competitions to enter, your chance of winning a prize has never been better.

It can be a little intimidating at first, as you may feel as if you have no way to verify the authenticity of the Online Competitions you enter.

This is an unnecessary concern, as most Online Competitions only ask for a name and email address. If you do not win, all you may be stuck with is junk mail for entering a Competition. Here are some tips that will boost your chances of winning Online Competitions, as well as, help give you confidence to enter.

Set up a separate email address, just for this purpose of entering Online Competitions.

This will give you a little bit of extra privacy, and you can keep track of what is happening with Online Competitions and not have to see all the promotional stuff. Make sure you read all the fine print concerning any rules, regulations and eligibility when entering Online Competitions.

You do not want to have any hidden surprises after you win that could take away that prize from you. Often times it is something minor such as location, age group or a specific time frame, of which you were not aware. Carefully reading the Online Competition rules will prevent any unwanted surprises. To maximize your chances of winning Online Competitions, enter as many as you can, and enter Competitions that will give more than one prize. Not all will do that but look for them. If you know what Online Competitions might be good, make sure you let others know by sharing your experience. In turn, it will urge them to do the same. Keep track of all the Online Competitions you have entered. The last thing you don't want to do is disqualify yourself by entering a competition that only allows one chance.

Make sure your competing stays fun. If it starts to make you irritated and upset all the time and takes too much time, take a break and stop entering competitions for a while. Remember, if you are not having fun it is not worth it. It is very possible to walk away with some great gadgets, fantastic holidays and put thousands of dollars in your pocket without spending a dime. The reason's for a Competition is simple. It is a cheap chance for companies to promote their products. Giving away products or services is much cheaper than buying a big newspaper ad. In addition, it gives you a chance to collect valuable information from potential customers. It is easy to see why these Online Competitions can be found everywhere.

What is Comping? It is about hours and hours of work entering hundreds of free competitions as opposed to doing the odd contest. When you look at the odds, statistically you are more likely to win and win big Comping. Not to be confused with Piano Comping let alone Piano Comping Techniques. That is something totally different. It all depends on your work ethic and some luck when it comes to Comping.

The Competition could furnish your house, have you traveling the world and crank up your bank balance all just from Comping. The Competition entry involves filling in an online form or sending a postcard. It can also involve answering a question or tie-breaker. When you enter an Online Competition or several of them, you need to realize that you won't immediately be bombarded with prizes from Comping. It is best to look at Comping as a rewarding hobby and not some part-time job. Hours Comping can be long with poor payouts and your butt might get a little sore from sitting at your computer all day.

Considering all that, it is definitely worth it when you look at all the prizes you can win. Comping is not a sure-fire way to make cash but the more you enter the chances are in your favor to win. Here are rules to go by when Comping:. You need to be selective when Comping online - There are some you will come across that will tell you to enter everything. That is not suggested. Enter to win prizes you want to win. Do not enter just to "win". You can be selective because there are a ton to choose from to enter online and offline. Do not let the size of the prize determine your entry-- Thousands and thousands of people enter competitions, but don't let that turn you away. As a rule of thumb the bigger the prize that will often mean, more entries. Competitions for smaller prizes like CD’s and DVDs attract low entry levels, so your chances of winning can be very high.

Don't get disqualified by making silly mistakes - The first hurdles in Comping to get over are reading the rules or getting questions wrong. Make sure you don't get disqualified by these simple tasks. Make sure you read the competition information, check your answers, complete your details and last but not least, make sure you've read the rules. I know it sounds pretty simple but many seem to miss this.  Make a Positive out of a Negative - The average of the number of entrants for most Competitions is often between 500 to 5000. The chances of winning a prize are still quite good. The harder a competition is to enter the less amount of entries. When Comping try to avoid the attitude of not entering because you think you can never win. Don't worry about the "What if?" - If you don't enter competitions, you will not win. It's that simple. If you do, then you have a chance of winning. Keep in mind the next time you think you will not win. The fact is, many people do win, so keep that in mind. Do not kill yourself and try to enter every Competition.

With the arrival of all the Social Media comping has spread and changed dramatically. If you can not find the time to do everything then don't worry about it. You can only do what you can. Comping is not a race to see who can enter as many competitions as possible. If you are racing then you will only be competing with yourself. Enjoy, sit back and relax - Again, and we can not say this enough, Comping is all about having fun. It's a great hobby with the added bonus of the chance of winning some great prizes such as cash and travel.

Enter a Sweep and Enjoy the Fun

Sweepstakes are often referred to as a "Sweep" or “Sweeps” amongst “Sweepers”. That is a person who enters Sweepstakes a lot. First you need to find a Sweep to enter. Finding a Sweep to enter is actually very easy. You can enter them online, at stores, your bank, fundraisers, at the mall, and just about anywhere. You might even get invitations to enter a Sweep by snail-mail. Entering most of them that you come across. However, if you're really serious about winning, you need to be aggressive and actively seek them out.

Read through your newspaper carefully regardless if you still read the old hand-held or online. Be thorough when you go through your snail-mail a Sweep can sometimes look like junk mail. Keep notes and carry a notepad and pen with you. Write down the details of any Sweep you might see on TV or hear on the radio.

Last but not least search online. There are some large directories online, some are free and some by subscription only. They will give you a good idea of the hundreds rather thousands of Sweeps out there. Sweepstakes 13 is a great place to start where you can set up an account for free! You will have access to the latest Sweepstakes and Contests 24 hours day. Choose which Sweep you want to enter. Not every Sweep is the same.

If you have to buy something to enter and have a chance to win, stay away from it. Any legit Sweep is Free. The purpose of these opportunities are about gathering personal information to approach you with advertising at sometime down the road. There are many chances to win without having to climb over mountains, wasting your time. What Sweep you decide to enter should be based on your own preferences not what anyone else tells you.

The answer is anything and everything. A Sweep with a smaller prize can be great because you generally have a better chance of winning. On the other hand, don't waste your time entering a Sweep for a prize you don't want or could not easily turn around and sell it on Ebay as an example.

Will your private information be protected when entering a Sweep?

The answer is "no". Even though that may state it in their privacy policy. Is a ton of junk mail, spam, or even sales calls worth the small chance of winning the prize? Yes, of course. Just get an alternate email address and phone number. We cover that and much more in our "Sweepstakes Tips for Winners” featured on our cover page. The fact is all Sweeps are just a way of collecting your information. Regardless what the fine print says in their rules or privacy policy, there is no guarantee's what will happen to your information you give out. Do not just blame a Sweep for collecting and selling your information to third parties. Every-time you fill out a form it could be sold or given away. Think of that Credit Card application, the form at the doctor's office or when you got that oil change. You can't really expect something for nothing, and sometimes you may decide that giving away some information is worth the chance of winning the prize like a new car, house or $10,000.

The odds of winning a Sweep will depend on the number of entries.

That you will never know but depending on the size and value of the prize can give you an idea. The frequency of entries accepted, like daily or weekly can make a big difference. A local Sweep will tend to have much better odds. Especially if it is a Mom and Pop restaurant giving out a free dinner. You'll also want to consider how many prizes will be given away. If you have a Sweep that receives twenty thousand entries on average but is giving away hundred prizes, verses a Sweep giving away one prize with twenty thousand entries. You can see which has the better odds.

Read the rules carefully and follow every detail. The saying is true "You can't expect to win if you don't play by the rules." Some are very straight forward and simple, but others are not. It sure would be a shame to win that vacation to Hawaii you have always wanted, but you get disqualified on a small technicality because you did not follow the rules. Shockingly, the good news is that many people don't follow the rules or even read them for that matter. That right there increases your chances of winning. One basic rule most Sweeps have is an entry deadline. You would be amazed at how many people miss the deadline. Another instance that will increase your odds is entry frequency. For instance a Sweep that lets you enter daily. Most people will not enter daily. There you can increase your odds tremendously.

If you are filling out a Sweeps form by hand, make sure that other people can read everything you write down. If you have terrible handwriting, type it if you can or have someone fill it out for you. That's if they have good handwriting of course.

Some Sweeps but more so Contests will require that you answer a question correctly. If you do not know the correct answer it is useless to enter.

Getting back to entry frequency, enter as many times as possible. Common sense, the more times you enter, the better your odds. Before you send in a zillion entries, make sure you know how many entries the rules allow you. If you send in too many, you could be disqualified. The rules should stipulate how many entries allowed during a certain time period. In the old days the only way to enter a Sweep was either in person or by snail-mail. Entering by snail-mail can be pretty costly. Now a days, most, if not all Sweeps can be entered online. If they only accept entries by snail-mail consider what the prize is and if it is really worth spending the money on postage to enter?

There isn't much you can do to distinguish or make your entry stand out if you enter online. If you still like entering Sweeps that accept snail-mail entries, make yours stand out and be creative. Unless the rules specify anything in particular the sky is the limit.

Guess what? You have WON! Once you've won you still have to make sure you get your prize. The next step will most likely have you filling out some affidavits, possibly notarized, or completing some kind of paperwork in a timely fashion. Make sure you follow through on claiming your prize, and make sure you meet any deadlines. Always keep your eye's pealed for scams. To found out more on what to look for on Scams, check out our article "Sweepstakes Scams are everywhere.” How to watch your back and be safe."

Some of the Best Online Sweepstakes are Cash Sweepstakes. With cash you can always buy what you want.

Need a Scrapbook Idea for a Contest?

Scrapbook Idea - If you are going to enter any Scrapbook Contests you might want to read through some of our tips on Scrapbooking.  Scrapbooking Contests are great because you can win supplies to cash and have fun at the same time doing something you love to do. All of that just from a Scrapbook Idea.

Scrapbook Idea #1 Make sure you set one of your photo's as the main focus.  Its kind of like the “Shinning Star” at the top of a Christmas Tree. Your other photos act as the "lights and garland" that support your story you are telling. As we commonly read from left to right, the top-left hand corner is an good place for your main photo. When you have several photos you want to have with your collage, finding that special area for your main photo is key. Unless of course you do not want to have one photo as your main focal point rather the entire collage itself is.

Scrapbook Idea #2 If you happen to run out of adhesive dots to hold down your ribbon to the page, you can tack down the ribbons using brads at each end.

Scrapbook Idea #3 How to spread liquid adhesive quickly over a large surface area? Instead of dumping those phony plastic credit cards you received in mail, save them. Save your used phone cards too. Then you can simply use these wasted plastic cards as glue-spreaders! Use the plastic card to swipe and spread the liquid glue into a thin, even layer of glue over a big surface area. What's more? You can just wipe the card clean and reuse them again and again.

Scrapbook Idea #4 If you want an eye-catching background, try cutting a piece of patterned paper into a large curved shape and then attach it to your card-stock. It will immediately give attention to your background. Drawing the curved shape can be done by free hand or a bowel works well.

Scrapbook Idea #5 Punches also make for great visuals and presentation. Punch out using card-stocks and add those accents to your pages to help you create an interesting background design.

Scrapbook Idea #6 Everyone seems to think you have to mat all your photo's on your scrapbook layout design unless you want it to stand out from the background. It's a good idea to mat your photo though. Enlarging its size for emphasis works too.

Scrapbook Idea #7 If you are someone who loves the stitched-look but can't sew and looking for an easy way out? Try using rub-on stitches they work great. You can also use a fine-tip pen and draw the dashes to resemble the stitched-look without using needle and thread. It might not be perfect but it will save you a lot of time.

Scrapbook Idea #8 Try adding on an already made envelope to your layout to store in the extra writings. Make sure you give the envelope a unique look by customizing it to your own design. You can also use a library pocket to tuck in your extra writings too.

Scrapbook Idea #9 For quick page accents cut out designs from patterned papers. Just apply the cut accents to your page and you're done. It will also save you money as well.

Scrapbook Idea #10 The days of throwing away your soda s are now done. Save them and use them as "buckles" on your ribbons.  You can even sand the rough edge down a bit and paint on them to match the color of your ribbon.

Scrapbook Idea #11 Besides using brads, you can add a button to the center of a flower. If you're using buttons you can also tie a knot with embroidery floss. Then add an adhesive dot to the back of the button to apply it to your layout.

Scrapbook Idea #12 For another background idea try cutting out tall triangles from some patterned paper. Add ink to the edges of the cut triangles to add emphasis. Then apply these triangles to your card-stock and you got an edgy-looking background.

Scrapbook Idea #13 Do you want to create a unique handwritten title? Hand-write and make sure you put a wide enough space between each letter. Cut out each handwritten letter and mat it on a card-stock. You will be amazed by how your handwritten title will look like a unique font you just created.

A Singing Contest - The Do's and Dont's

Preparing for an online Singing Contest? Need some tips? Here are some beneficial tips to ensure you show off your abilities in Singing Contest. Before you begin preparing for your Singing Contest you need to know the rules and regulations of the contest so you can understand what they are looking for. Is this Singing Contest looking for the next Big Singing Star? What is the genre? What age are they look for? There are many tips you can follow to prepare for a Singing Contest. There is even free online singing lessons.

The first thing you want to do at a Singing Contest is introduce yourself and your song also known and “Slating for the camera”.

Many times, contestants just come up to the stage and wait for the band/music to start without any acknowledging the judges at all. But you also do not want to ramble on either. There is no need to tell your lives story of how this song has so much meaning in your life and so on. Your there at Singing Contest for a one reason and that is to sing.

You will want to make sure your music charts for the Singing Contest are accurate and helpful. Some people will spend time on trying to explain to the band how their particular song goes. Your chart should do this. Make sure it has a time signature and an approximate tempo, with all the important stops and so on. It has to be written neatly enough for someone else to understand. If you can name the rhythm that will help the band target exactly what you want.

Pick a song that fits your voice for the Singing Contest.

Many contestants who enter a Singing Contest tend to pick songs they like but the song does not fit their voice. Pick a song that the band, judges and most everyone will know. The band will do a better job of a song that they know or have heard before. If the band plays well for your performance you will always most likely sound better too. If you give them something they will have a hard time with it will hurt you out of the gate. That is before you start singing.

For the same reason don’t pick an obscure version of a popular song. That is a big Singing Contest no no. If a song has more than one version, do the version the band will know. If you and the band are not in sync then it won’t matter how well you sing the song.

Make sure your guitar or any other instrument you might be playing is in tune. Don’t just tune it before you leave home for the Singing Contest and hope for the best. Temperature can alter your tuning a lot so make sure you tune it just before the Singing Contest begins and as close as you can to the stage. Never do it on the stage in front of the audience. If you have to for some odd reason then do it.

Always thank the band and the judges. That is just good manners and can go a long way. Keep it short and always keep it real.

You want to wear something nice to the Singing Contest but don’t think you have to dress to impress. If you are auditioning in more than one section, it is still better to pick one outfit and stick with it. Multiply clothing changes are a waste of time. It will help the judges and the audience remember you. It can also lead to unnecessary delays with people who are competing in the same sections. Others will make that mistake by doing a change of clothes and make-up.

Make sure you clean off your instrument before you step out into the spotlight. Yes, it is a Singing Contest by its all in the package.

If you happen to be an accompanist for someone, look the part and don’t assume the judges do not see you. Even though you are not competing in the Singing Contest you can possible effect the outcome. Like the contestant you are helping out, you can be seen by judges and audience as well.

While there are no written rules or a format to go by to ensure you will win the Singing Contest, there are many things you can do to put the odds in your favor. You need to do everything possible to take the nerves and stress out of your performance so you can do and be at your best.

If you are new to singing contests we suggest starting with Local Singing Competitions to get your feet wet. You can easily find online singing contests as well, such as a YouTube Singing Contest. Those tend to be the most popular online. With the big popularity in country you can easily find a Nashville Singing Contest. There are several online just take a look.

Even if you can pull of an act and it turns out great without any rehearsals, it would still be 100 times better if you had practiced before the Talent Show.

Rehearse as often as possible continuously for the Talent Show.

When you think you have practiced enough, rehearse some more. It is a good idea to have a friend videotape some of your rehearsals. Then you can sit back and give yourself and honest review to see what is working and what’s not. Based on the videos you can always improve your act a great deal. After you have made the adjustments, record and watch it again to make sure the changes have really made a difference. If possible try to practice on the actual Talent Show stage. Wear your costume sometimes to get use to it as well. This will let you know in advance if the stage is too small or your costume needs some adjustments, rather than having to make last-minute changes. Even if it is not possible to practice in your costume or on the actual Talent Show stage every time, practice at home or wherever you can as often as possible. It will make all the difference.

Costumes do not need to be the latest, most expensive and fancy to be effective for any Talent Show. If your act does not call for something big and flashy, you still want to be creative and figure out something. Something is better than nothing. Try shopping at discount stores and thrift stores for the best bargains. Sometimes digging down into your closet and using old clothes that you never wear anymore might work. Use whatever you can think of to give yourself the look your act needs. Remember, they do not have to look perfect up close. The audience will most likely be a ways away so concentrate on creating some effects with your costumes rather than worrying about complete accuracy in every detail. However, this is only if your act qualifies for that type of costume. If your act does not require a costume, wear something nice. "Nice" to some could be a dress or a suit. If you feel that be would appropriate then that is what you should wear. Simply, dress the part, depending on your act for the Talent Show.

"The Performance"

Don't drag your act out past the required or recommended time for the Talent Show. The best of the best performances can become boring if the act runs on to long. If the song you are performing as an example is too long, cut it down shorter. Choose your favorite verses and drop the rest. Two to three minutes is a good amount of time for a song or a skit, but is only a guideline. They should have the limits and minimums in the Talent Show rules. There are terrific acts that are shorter and terrific acts that are longer. Again, get out that video camera and tape your act prior to the actual Talent Show. Review it with friends and family and make use of constructive criticism.

Here are some tips to help your Talent Show performance look and sound as professional as possible. Don’t wait until the night of the Talent Show to start following them. You need to start now, while you’re practicing. By the time the show comes around, it will be second nature and you won’t have to think about it.

Make sure you speak up (Not yell) and slow way down. When people are up on stage during a Talent Show, they are often overcome by nerves and speak their lines either to quietly or yell them out. Often times they will fly right through them making it impossible for the audience to understand and follow what they are saying. If you have a microphone available make sure you use it. If that is the case, speak plainly and slowly as possible. Project when you need to without yelling. It will make all the difference for your Talent Show performance.

Put on that "Happy Face" and smile for the Talent Show. No matter what, even if you have stage fright or embarrassed because you just made a mistake, smile and it will appear as though you are having fun like nothing ever happened. The judges want to see you enjoy yourself having fun. Even if you are not having fun, let the judges think you are. If your act does not really call for a smiling happy face you need to show some type of emotion. Happy or sad.

Posture makes a big difference. Yes, remember when your Mother use to tell you to always sit up straight? Well, it was for many good reasons. Stand or sit up straight, whether you’re singing, dancing or acting. Good posture also represents confidence. Confidence will help win the Talent Show.

Keep your eyes focused straight ahead at the audience but be real about it. If you happen to be very nervous and don’t want to make eye contact with anyone, look just above everyone's heads during your Talent Show performance. Chances are you will not be able to see them anyway because of the lighting. When we say "real" do not look straight ahead at the audience like a mannequin. Keep your body open and never turn your back.

An option and comfort piece for some is sitting. Consider sitting on a stool. If you’re singing a sad, slow song, or something gentle and you’re not comfortable moving around on stage, consider sitting on a stool rather than just standing there. It will look more natural and relaxed.

Always Keep moving forward during the Talent Show. If you forget your lines or lyrics, drop the ball (literally) or fall off of your stool, just keep going like nothing happened. The best thing to do is make light of your mistake and smile. Everyone will understand. Know one expects perfection. In fact, sometimes a funny reaction to a mistake makes the act more entertaining and realistic.

End the Talent Show strong and professionally. When your act is finished you want to smile and wave to the audience. If they clap which we hope they will, take a short bow and walk off the stage with your head held high. You did your best and it's off to the next Talent Show.

Last but not least, be prepared for the unexpected.  Make up a "Performance Emergency Kit" for the Talent Show. You might want to have some safety pins, needle and thread, extra copies of your music and lyrics, a spare set of guitar strings or drums sticks, hairbrush, Advil or whatever you can think of that you might need in case of emergency for the Talent Show. Even if you end up not needing them, your supplies might come in handy for some other performer who finds himself or herself in a bind. Plus, it will help putting you at ease knowing you are prepared for the "What if?"

If you are new to the Talent Show scene try doing a search for "YouTube Talent Show". You will be able to see several examples. We hope this Talent Show Information helps you out the next time you enter a Talent Show.

NOTE: The best example right now is "America's Got Talent – AGT". Some people like to refer to it as America Has Talent (Same thing) It is a must see.

Dance Competition - The Beginning

Dance Competition - The first time you compete in a Dance Competition you will most likely be nervous and that's normal. Even though you love to dance the case of nerves will get you many times but you can use that to your benefit when competing in a Dance Competition. Regardless if you are a pro dancer or not everyone is effected by nerves. The difference is you learn to handle the nerves better. That is just part of competitive dancing.

The fact that you have decided to compete in a Dance Competition, and following through with it no matter the outcome, is a big accomplishment.

You are doing something that most people only dream of doing. You have walked through the door and you made it to the Dance Competition. You're surrounded by dancers dressed in their best outfits their professional coaches are giving them last-minute tips and advice. Your head feels like it is going to explode. You need to relax. Easier said then done right? Try meditating and do whatever it is that causes you to relax. Everyone has their own routine when it comes to relaxing and killing time. From deep breathing to stretching, do what works the best for you.

No matter what skills or technique you use remember that you're doing this because you love to dance. If you didn't love to dance then you wouldn't have put in all that practice time and spent all that money on lessons and costumes. You're there for a reason so enjoy it.

Just remember one thing. Regardless of how experienced your competition is, they are all freaking out inside just like you are. Try and look at it this way: If you're new, then you're probably in one of the beginner or starter divisions. That means that for all the dancers at that Dance Competition, it is probably their first time too. At the very least, they haven't been doing it for long and are still pretty green behind the ears.

The best thing that you can do that will help you relax before the Dance Competition is PRACTICE!

The more you practice before the Dance Competition, the better you'll feel.  A special note: You want to give the leader a break and try hard to not to add to the leader's stress level during the Dance Competition. Remember, the leader has got twice as much going on inside the head because the leader not only is responsible for moving their own body, the leader is responsible for floor craft, the choreography and watching out for the follow. It is in your own best interest to have your leader as relaxed and confident as possible. Relax, have fun and breathe.

Do not wait until the last-minute to work on your costume for the Dance Competition.

Since this is your first Dance Competition, which probably means that you'll be in one of the starter or beginner divisions. So you don't have to go onto the floor dressed to the nines, looking like someone who has been dancing for years.

What dances are you doing and what style? Is it Jazz or Ballroom? Maybe Hip-Hop? Each one can have different looks. Talk to your coach/instructor, do a search online for videos and photos to get ideas. Keep it simple though. The most important thing is to wear something comfortable and is easy to move around in during the Dance Competition. Especially, just starting out, if you can use something you already have that would be the best thing to do. Pick something you feel you look good in. Doing that will create a positive reaction. If you feel like you look good, that positive energy can be channeled into your dance. Whatever you decide to wear, make sure you have it and it is set a couple of days before the Dance Competition. Put it this way. As soon as you decide to compete in a Dance Competition and know what your routine and theme is. Start thinking about your costume right away.

It is a very good idea to do a dress rehearsal before any Dance Competition. This is your chance to put it all together and have a practice run at it like I live performance. This is a good time to ask your friends to come to the studio who might not be able to come to the actual Dance Competition. They get to see you dance and you get a chance to have a dress rehearsal with a real live audience. Plus, get some last-minute critics that are always helpful. Dress rehearsals are important because that is when you find out what works and what does not work. For example: this is where you find out that outfit you thought looked great turns out to not be so great.

Dress rehearsals are also important because they allow you to get rid of some of the nerves before the actual Dance Competition. You're dancing for friends or the other dancers in the studio who have seen you practicing. They as well are working and getting ready for the Dance Competition. There is a comfortable feeling in the air. Unlike the day of the Dance Competition filled with nerves of the unknown.

A dress rehearsal is also a good chance to see if there are any mechanical issues in the dance itself that have to be tweaked before the Dance Competition. When you start dancing in front of an audience your brain becomes mush. With experience you will be able to think in the moment and relax once you get into your routine. Until then, your mind will be mush and that is where all that practice comes in and everything should be second nature. If there is something like styling that does not feel right, do not worry about it and move on. You will get it. But if is something that might put either you or your partner in danger of injury, that needs to be fixed. The dress rehearsal is where those types of things will show up. That is a good thing because it is still before the Dance Competition and you have time. Just do not schedule your dress rehearsal the day before the Dance Competition.

For all you "Newbies", the "Dance Bag" is a bag where you'll throw in all that stuff that you take to a Dance Competition to get you through. From your cell to food, anything you can think of that you might need for the Dance Competition. You can use just about any bag or backpack, but you will need one. Just make a list and then throw them in. The list will grow for sure after you do a few Dance Competitions. Just remember, you have to carry it.

For every Dance Competition make a list at least a few days before it. So if you need something you are not scrambling at the last-minute.

Double check the competition schedules and times the night before, the morning of, and when you get to the event. Always try to have a backup plan in case something does go wrong and something eventually will, even if it is minor. It's practice, practice, practice and, preparation, preparation, preparation.

Some of the more popular Dance Competitions are "So you think you can Dance?", "Fire and Ice Dance Competition", "Encore Dance Competition" "Showstoppers Dance Competition" and "Rising Star Dance Competition".

You Could Be the Next Contest Winner

Contest Winner - It is amazing how some people seem to bring home tons of Sweepstakes and Contest prizes, while others do not seem to win a thing. Most people tend to refer to it as plan old luck. However, the frequent winners use smart tactics to improve their odds of being the Contest Winner. They create a plan to enter sweepstakes and Contests intelligently. By doing so you can dramatically increase your chances of being a Contest Winner. Here are some tips to improve your chances of being a Contest Winner.

Contest Winner Chances

If you look at any Sweepstakes and Contests you will see more running than you could possibly enter to win. You are better off focusing your efforts on prizes that you really want to win. For instance, if you know you won't be able to attend something to possible be that Contest Winner or you have no use for a certain product, don't waste your time entering. Instead, focus on the Sweepstakes and Contests with prizes you really want to win.

Do not just enter one giveaway. You will have to have a lot of luck to get picked as the Contest Winner. Enter as many as you can.  Try and enter hundreds of different Sweepstakes and Contests on a weekly basis. The more you enter, the better your chances are to be a Contest Winner over and over.

The frequency you can enter Sweepstakes and Contests are sometimes daily, weekly, or monthly. Definitely enter as much as it is allowed. Most people will enter only once or twice, so the chances of your name being drawn as the Contest Winner if you enter regularly will be much higher.

The more Sweepstakes and Contests offers you enter, the better your chances are to be a Contest Winner many times over. A giveaway that is awarding 200 prizes is going to be two hundred times easier to win than a giveaway that has a single prize. Even when some of the prizes are of smaller value, it will give you a big boost when you receive the notification that you are the Contest Winner.

Restrictions limiting your chances of being a Contest Winner

States have their own rules governing Sweepstakes and Contests. As a result of that, some sponsors will prohibit entry from residents of certain states. Florida, New York, and Rhode Island tend to be excluded from large sweepstakes. California and Utah are rarely included in Sweepstakes and Contests sponsored by wine or beer companies. As for Hawaii and Alaska they are often left out because of the shipping to those states is the most expensive. Entering Sweepstakes and Contests where certain states are excluded means that the number of people who can enter will be much lower. If there is less competition, that means your chances are higher to be the Contest Winner. Be on the look out for those. Again, these restrictions can be a good and bad thing, increasing or decreasing your chances of being a Contest Winner.

There are some sponsors who will restrict entry by specific age ranges or genders. As an example, most Sweepstakes and Contests allow entry by people over 18 years of age. Some will restrict entry to 21+ or even 25+. If you are over 25 years of age those restrictions will cut down your competition and increase your odds of winning. Similarly, if only men are allowed to enter a certain contest, you'll only have to worry about competition from about half of the population. Increasing your odds again of being a Contest Winner if you are male or vise versa.

Some Sweepstakes and Contests are only open to a restricted area. Such as a single state or even a specific store location. Local Sweepstakes and Contests are a plethora for contest hunters, since the number of entries is usually lower as compared to the entries received by national sweeps. Enter as many local Sweepstakes and Contests as you can. Make sure you adhere to the rules as it would not be pleasant to find out you are the Contest Winner and then have it taken away from you on account of a technicality.

If you see Sweepstakes that are broadcast-ed in newspapers, on television and on the radio, you can assume that the number of entries is going to be through the roof and your chances of winning will be very low. Try not to Focus a lot on Sweepstakes and Contests that advertise all over the place. Some Sweepstakes have short entry periods of only a week or two, while others can last a year or more. The longer the entry period is, the more people will find it and enter and your chances of being a Contest Winner are much less. Commonly, many people tend to overlook sweepstakes that are only available for a limited time. With those your chances to win will grow.

There are times that sweepstakes will require you to do things like by providing UPC codes, answering trivia questions (Common with Contests) or require you to fill out some sort of survey. This can slow down your entry time and that can be to your advantage. Many other entrants will get frustrated and give up. That will open the door, making your chances of winning much higher. Contests require skill, such as submitting a piece of poetry, a favorite recipe. Contests tend to have fewer entrants because of the time evolved when entering.

Some Advice

Try and not obsess about what you're trying to win and being the Contest Winner. We know it is hard not to keep your eye on the prize. Figure out plan, and simply enter the ones you want to. When you are done, move on to the next one. Some of the fun of winning is winning a sweepstakes you completely forgot that you entered. The odds will always be against you to be a Contest Winner. Once your plan is in place, the odds will eventually fall to be in your favor and it will be your turn to be a Contest Winner.

Many fortune 500 companies have contests you can enter.

National Geographic Photo Contest

The best camera to have is the one that’s with you all the time. The iPhone is a device that serves multiple purposes. It is always there with you to capture a photo of all the moments in your life. Especially spontaneous unexpected ones. Every time you leave home it is easy to remember your phone. It's routine like getting dressed in the morning. That isn’t always true with a regular camera. Even though the quality of the lens on camera phones is limited, having a camera with you at all times enables you to take and then share your photos on social media sites and with friends and family.  Not to mention getting that special shot that could be entered as the winner for a National Geographic Photo Contest.

National Geographic Photo Contest is a wonderful way to improve your photography skills.

The National Geographic Photo Contest simply for the sake of the National Geographic Photo Contest is a bunch of fun and the competition could help you raise the bar as a professional photographer as you understand your picture will be seen by a discriminating group of professionals and perhaps even shown together with various other champions.

Know and follow the National Geographic Photo Contest Policies. While they may be a little boring to go through the terms and conditions to enter the National Geographic Photo Contest must be read. Reading through them and understanding them will save you a lot of heartache at the end. A couple major factors are: Exactly how will the images be made use of by the National Geographic Photo Contest. Each competitor will have the images submitted differently and it is worth considering the ramifications of this. Competitors that enter their photo's need to know what will happen to their work after the National Geographic Photo Contest. This could leave a lot of photographers upset if they find their pictures starting to show up all over the place. Make sure you know the National Geographic Photo Contest intentions and what will happen to your work after you enter it.  Again, read the rules of the National Geographic Photo Contest to see how many shots you can send, when they need to be in, exactly what format they ought to be in and so on. Stay with these standards or you might well be wasting your time.

Adhere to the Theme of the National Geographic Photo Contest.

You would be amazed at how many judges will say that the amount of photo's entered do not stick with in the theme. The Competitors sometimes get so hung up on their work and how great it looks they forget to stay with the theme. While its always possible to find an image in your archive of photo's that will fit the motif of the National Geographic Photo Contest you might have more luck when shooting something brand-new. You might not only get better results but either way you will be adding to your library. It is endless to what you could do to improve your chances of winning a National Geographic Photo Contest if you simply do a little abstract thought and research prior to you starting to shoot. If the National Geographic Photo Contest is yearly, consider the winners from last year while you don't want to duplicate them, they can offer you some pointers as to the kind of pictures that do well. If the competition is operated by a company or has a major sponsor this could also be worth remembering as it could possibly tell you regarding the kind of picture they are looking for. Finally, if the judges names are published take a little time to acquaint yourself with their work. Exactly what design of work do they do, what kind of image might they cherish?

Avoid the same old things. Remember that the judges will potentially be viewing hundreds if not thousands of pictures in their pursuit of finding a winner.  So, if your picture is much like every other photo, is it more likely to fall below their radar. If an image does not feel right or not up to what you think it should be then take another and more if you need too. Don't go for average outcomes because the judges will not. One of the huge mistakes that judges have mentioned when evaluating a National Geographic Photo Contest is the images where the professional photographer just has not paid attention to every component of the structure. Distracting aspects turn up in backgrounds, foregrounds, color etc. and that could mean the difference between an excellent shot or a great one. Again, carefully reading the National Geographic Photo Contest rules as they could you from making mistakes.

Remember you are telling a story, hitting people with emotion, you want to make a connection and evoke some kind of a reaction with those looking at the picture. Technically fantastic shots without a soul will certainly leave judges desiring something more. A couple other popular Photo Contests like the National Geographic Photo Contest you might consider entering are the Nikon Photo Contest and Smithsonian Photo Contest.

Then you have contests where your Newborn Baby Photos are judged based on the skill of the people who took those specific Newborn Baby Photos. When you are looking for contests to enter your Newborn Baby Photos, it's helpful to first spend some time thinking about what you want to achieve. Do you want your baby to participate in modeling shoots? Some contests for Newborn Baby Photos will give you the chance to meet with a talent scout as one of the prizes. If you are strictly looking for feedback on your photography skills make sure you look into who will be the judges. Look at their background as to experience in photography. You want a professional of course but who is to say what makes you a professional? Okay, technically if you make money for your work that makes you a professional. However, to put it mildly that is very subjective. Look to see if their background covers more than just shooting Newborn Baby Photos.

Since you're entering contests for babies Photos you would expect they have experience in that area but what else do they bring to the table.

Focusing on entering contests that are solely about Newborn Baby Photos you must first read the judging rules carefully. This can not be said enough. Many photographers have entered some great work only to be disqualified because they did not follow the rules correctly. If you do not understand something do not assume always ask questions prior to entering. Contests just for Newborn Baby Photos will be looking for a specific type of photo. There may be rules such as, the age of the baby, a boy or girl or either. Are you allowed to use certain types of software to edit your work. Some of the best tips for taking Newborn Baby Photos is as follows:

The Competition of Comping

Now with online competitions becoming so popular, and a wide variety of Competitions to enter, your chance of winning a prize has never been better. For the sake of this article we are going to call the promotion you decide to enter as “The Competition.”

It can be a little intimidating at first, as you may feel as if you have no way to verify the authenticity of The Competition you are entering. This is an unnecessary concern, as most online competitions only ask for a name and email address. If you do not win, all you may be stuck with is junk mail for entering The Competition. Here are some tips that will boost your chances of winning The Competition, as well as, help give you confidence to enter.

Set up a separate email address, just for this purpose of entering The Competition. This will give you a little bit of extra privacy, and you can keep track of what is happening with The Competition and not have to see all the promotional stuff.

Make sure you read all the fine print concerning any rules, regulations and eligibility to enter The Competition.

You do not want to have any hidden surprises after you win that could take away that prize from you. Often times it is something minor such as location, age group or a specific time frame, of which you were not aware. Carefully reading The Competition rules will prevent any unwanted surprises.

To maximize your chances of winning The Competition, enter as many Competitions as you can, and enter Competitions that will give more than one prize. Not all will do that but look for them. If you know The Competition might be a good one make sure you let others know by sharing your experience. In turn, it will urge them to do the same.

Keep track of The Competitions you have entered. The last thing you don’t want to do is disqualify yourself by entering a competition that only allows one chance. Make sure your competing stays fun. If it starts to make you irritated and upset all the time and takes too much time, take a break and stop entering competitions for a while. Remember, if you are not having fun it is not worth it.

Keep in mind that it is very possible to walk away with some great gadgets, fantastic holidays and put thousands of dollars in your pocket without spending a dime.

The reason’s for The Competition is simple. It is a cheap chance for companies to promote their products. Giving away products or services is much cheaper than buying a big newspaper ad. In addition, it gives you a chance to collect valuable information from potential customers. It is easy to see why these Competitions can be found everywhere.

When you enter The Competition or several of them, you need to realize that you won’t immediately be bombarded with prizes from Comping.

Here are rules to go by when Comping:

You need to be selective when Comping online - There are some you will come across that will tell you to enter everything. That is not suggested. Enter to win prizes you want to win. Do not enter just to “win”. You can be selective because there are a ton to choose from to enter online and offline.

Do not let the size of the prize determine your entry – Thousands and thousands of people enter competitions, but don't let that turn you away.

Don't worry about the “What if?” - If you don't enter competitions, you will not win. It's that simple. If you do, then you have a chance of winning. Keep in mind the next time you think you will not win. The fact is, many people do win, so keep that in mind.

Do not kill yourself and try and enter every Competition - With the arrival of all the Social Media comping has spread and changed dramatically.

It's “Sweeps” in the Sweepstakes World

Sweepstakes - Often referred to as “Sweeps” in the Sweepstakes world. First you need to find a Sweepstakes to enter. Finding a Sweeps to enter is actually very easy. You can enter them online, in grocery stores, at a bank, fundraisers, at the mall and just about anywhere. You might even get invitations to enter a Sweeps by snail-mail. Enter most of them that you come across if you can. However, if you're really serious about winning, you need to be aggressive and actively seek them out.

Read through your newspaper carefully regardless if you still read the old hand held or online. Be thorough when you go through your snail-mail as Sweeps sometimes can look like junk mail.

Keep notes and carry a notepad and pen with you. Write down the details of any Sweepstakes you might see on TV or hear on the radio.

Last but not least search online. There are some large directories online, some are free and some by subscription only. They will give you a good idea of the hundreds rather thousands of Sweeps out there.  Right here at Sweepstakes 13 is a great place to start where you can set up an account for free! You will have access to the latest Sweepstakes and Contests 24 hours day.

Choose which Sweepstakes you want to enter. Not all Sweeps are the same.

If you have to buy something to enter and have a chance to win, stay away from it. Any legit Sweeps is Free. The purpose of these opportunities are about gathering personal information to approach you with advertising at sometime down the road. There are many chances to win without having climb over mountains, wasting your time. What Sweeps you decide to enter should be based on your own preferences not what anyone else tells you.

What can you win by entering a Sweeps?

The answer is anything and everything. Sweepstakes with smaller prizes can be great because you generally have a better chance of winning. On the other hand, don't waste your time entering a Sweeps for a prize you don't want or could not easily turn around and sell it on Ebay as an example.

Will your private information be protected? Unfortunately, the answer is "no". Even though that may state it in their privacy policy. Is a ton of junk mail, spam, or even sales calls worth the small chance of winning the prize? Yes, of course. Just get an alternate email address and phone number. We cover that and much more in our "Sweepstakes Tips for Winners!? featured on our cover page. The fact is all Sweeps are just a way of collecting your information. Regardless what the fine print says in their rules or privacy policy, there is no guarantee's what will happen to your information you give out. The thing is do not just blame Sweeps for collecting and selling your information to third parties. Every-time you fill out a form it could be sold or given away. Think of that Credit Card application, the form at the doctors office or when you got that oil change. Keep in mind that you can't really expect something for nothing, and sometimes you may decide that giving away some information is worth the chance of winning the prize like a new car, house or $10,000.

The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries. That you will never know but depending on the size and value of the prize can give you an idea. The frequency of entries accepted, like daily or weekly can make a big difference. Local Sweeps tend to have much better odds. Especially if it is a Mom and Pop restaurant giving out a free dinner. You'll also want to consider how many prizes will be given away. If you have a Sweeps that receives twenty thousand entries on average but is giving away hundred prizes, verses a Sweeps giving away one prize with twenty thousand entries. You can see which has the better odds.

Read the rules carefully and follow every detail. The saying is true “You can't expect to win if you don't play by the rules.” Some are very straight forward and simple, but others are not. For instance a Sweeps that lets you enter daily. Most people will not enter daily. Right there you can increase your odds tremendously.

In the old days the only way to enter a Sweeps was either in person or by snail-mail.

8 Ball Tips for Competition

8 Ball - To compete in 8 Ball Competition the 1# tip anyone can give you is practice and then practice some more and more. Here are some 8 Ball tips that can help execute your game. Here is 8-ball strategy that is essential if you expect to be successful.  To start, the first thing you need is a good and strong power break in 8-Ball Pool. The main goal of the break in 8 Ball is to scatter the balls. You want to pocket at least one or more balls, and move the cue ball toward the center. Winning does not solely rely on doing the three above mentioned things. However, you will usually have an easier time running the table if you meet one or more of them. You want to develop a strong power break. Experiment and try different ways to position your grip and vary your grip pressure. Also, make sure that when you strike the cue ball, you are hitting it as close to center as possible. For beginners this tends to get over looked.

Stripes or solids? What will you choose and what will give you potentially the best results. To do this, you must very carefully scan the layout of the table after the break. Select the balls that have clear paths to the pockets. Keep in mind when choosing on an open table, you may have to hit a stripe to make a solid or vice versa. Always keep an open mind as you will have to be creative.

You need to visualize a map when it comes to 8 Ball and keep in mind of how you want to run the table.

Create a strategy that maps out exactly how you want to run all of your object balls and the 8 Ball. Never attempt to take your first shot until you have the entire rack run successfully in your mind. Not having a game plan in 8 Ball and literally shooting in the dark is like a suicide mission.

You will need to minimize cue-ball movement as much as possible with 8 Ball.

The less you have to move the cue ball the better off you are and the fewer chances there are to lose control of it. If you can stop the cue ball, it will always allow you to know exactly where you will be next. Find patterns that will allow you to stop the cue ball as much as possible. Developing your technique and honing your skills with 8 Ball will give you the control needed for ball control.

Say you have the stripes, view how they are positioned. Can you run all six of them and the 8 Ball using only stop shots? Yes you can and the route will go like this as an example: 8, 5, 1, 3, 7, 4,2 . Envision it, see it and then follow through.

Keep all of your shots as simple as possible when it comes to 8 Ball. Be realistic by choosing a route that will give you the high percentage shots that fit your playing ability. Try to not to get to fancy with banks, kick shots, combinations as an example. If you can, try to avoid those type of shots. This is referring to someone who is a novice. Those types of shots you will incorporate in time with experience. Make sure you get the basics down first with 8 Ball Pool.

A common mistake is guessing where the cue ball will end up after a shot. You want to be as precise as you can when picking a point for position for each shot. You want to choose shots which minimize cue-ball movement. If possible, try to not let the cue ball run into other balls. Contact with other balls can create unwanted movements and situations. That will cause problems for you when you try to follow the original strategy you created.

If you come across the situation in 8 Ball where you have to break up a cluster, always make sure you have a good key ball for your next shot. The key ball is a way of taking out some insurance on the shot where you break up a cluster. It is a ball that will allow you a another shot regardless of how the balls scatter out from the cluster. This key ball is your guarantee you will be able to keep shooting. More times than not, your key ball will be one of your object balls close a to a pocket if not hanging in a pocket. This key ball is often referred to the “safety valve.”

There are a few other tips with 8 Ball that can help you achieve success. Before every shot in 8 Ball, inspect the spot where the cue ball will end up and make sure you are satisfied with what the next shot looks like. If you make a mistake during your run, be prepared to stop, take a step back and re-examine the remaining layout. Then choose another route for the remaining balls. Keep an open mind and always look at all of your options on every shot. Last but not least when it comes to 8 Ball. Practice, Practice, Practice!

Christmas Contest for Your Business

Christmas Contest - Christmas is a great time to run a Contest for your Business. A Christmas Contest can be a great attention getter. Here are some tips we have for planning a Christmas Contest on Twitter.

To start, you need to find what interests your audience when you start to plan a Christmas Contest.

Like most social media campaigns, the most effective themes and rewards are typically associated with similar interests or experiences. Those favorites could be music, books, movies, travel, fashion etc. You want to build a Christmas Contest that taps into the passion of your audience, and “goes with the flow” so your followers will want to be a part and share their own stories.

Do you want to have a Christmas Contest or Sweepstakes?

A contest is generally judged on merit where with a Sweepstakes you are awarded a prize or prizes based on random draw. Users will follow and tweet/retweet to get an entry to your Christmas Contest. Or you can use a plain old giveaway where you award a prize to the 97th person to tweet a correct answer to a contest question. Another variation is the have say the first 50, where the first 50 followers to tweet will qualify to win a prize such as a gift certificate or a free hotel voucher.

You could run a Christmas Contest that promotes a special occasion or a new product.

To build up a good rapport you could have a Christmas Contest that runs several times throughout the Holidays. For instance do a riddle. From Monday to Friday give a clue each day. You only get one guess and it must be submitted by midnight on Friday. To really mix up your Christmas Contest have all winners who guessed what the riddle was, give them another one, and those finalists only have a day to come up with an answer. You can do variations of this depending on how many prizes you are going to giveaway. That Christmas Contest example is a great way to keep people coming back to you on twitter and interacting with you and your product on a frequent basis.

Your Christmas Contest is a way to spread the word by keeping your current circles intrigued and the same time picking up new followers. You will want to have people include a descriptive hashtag like #Riddle-X-Mas in their tweets. This will make it easier for others to click and learn more about your Christmas Contest along with seeing all related tweets. When you tweet updates about your contest, remember to include the hashtag yourself. These hashtags will let people identify with you and your company.

Try to partner with others to expand your circle. Look for opportunities to run contests/sweepstakes with partners to add their circles to your audience. The partner could be a prize sponsor or service provider. When following is required to enter (we strongly suggest), users will follow your company and your partners. It is a win, win situation.

Beyond creating a great concept and approach for your Christmas Contest there are some additional ways that you can draw people in to participate. In turn have them spread the word and catapult your contest performance. Gift Certificates always seem to go over well for a Christmas Contest. With gift certificates the winner can use it for anything in that store or restaurant etc. Top items like iPads and iPods also go over very well. Keep it simple with a “Follow and Tweet to enter” works for the majority of people.

Always use your email lists, displays if you have a store front and all social media even if it is a “Twitter Contest”. For your first contest we would suggest having it run at least a week to get people entering. Make sure when it is done to immediately let everyone know when your next one is going to happen. Even a rough estimate. You got their attention so keep it. Make sure you give updates frequently.

Make your rules VERY transparent. Have your rules or links to your rules very visible. Make sure you have all the who, what, when, where and why's. Most of all, what you are giving away.

try to make your Christmas Contest as fun and interesting as possible. An average boring Christmas Contest could get looked over as there are others out there as well to enter. Try using a Christmas Sweepstakes or a Christmas Giveaway too.

Music Competition is All About Preparation

Music Competition - For many students, a Music Competition is a regular part of life if they plan to go to music school and seek a career in music. Music Competitions can range from playing an instrument to singing or writing. Any performance whether it be a lesson, for friends and family or a Music Competition, is just a “sneak peak” of their talent and skills. Prepare like it is the last time you will ever perform and do your best. Always be proud what you did no matter the outcome. Remember, the judges of a Music Competition love music. They are evaluating the power of your performance. Never take it personally. It's the performance that is being judged not you.

Most people tend to strive for perfection while competing in a Music Competition but most judges want to be emotionally moved by the your music.  Even with a few mistakes, music can somehow connect people with your work that transcends language.

A Music Competition does not have easy scoring.

Unlike a hockey game, where you simply count the number of goals made music ratings are somewhat subjective. One set of judges one day might come up with a winner on one day. Then another set of judges might have opposite results. Judges do their best to take into account many things: overall musicality, stylistic elements, adherence to the score, the entire program you prepared, the individual pieces, musical intuition. This all is very subject of course.

The benefits of being in Music Competition are several. A Music Competition gives you the chance to overcome challenges such as technical, musical, and mental. This should be one of the most important goals of entering any Music Competition. You hope to overcome a challenge during practice but overcoming a challenge in a performance is a much bigger victory. Getting exposure to several people who appreciate and support music is a big plus. Having teachers and potential employers along with fans who may eventually become financial supporters is an achievement in itself regardless if you win the Music Competition or not. As a student you can make important connections at a Music Competition that eventually could led to scholarships or participation in other programs. Getting constructive feedback from those people, especially the judges, can help you identify your strengths and other areas that you might need improvement. Again, the feedback is not about you personally, it is solely about your music.

A Music Competition is an opportunity for your “fans” to witness and acknowledge talents and hard work. Anyone watching your performance can provide important feedback. This is anyone from family and friends to total strangers. You want a wide variety of people seeing your work.

A chance to observe your peers or better yet the competition. Competing in a Music Competition can give you the chance to gauge your own strengths and weaknesses against others in the competition. That exposure can be very inspiring and can help you with your future performances.

If you happen to place or even win a Music Competition it gives you one more accomplishment to add to your resume. They all add up quickly. When you start out looking for a Music Competition to compete in look for an appropriate level for your development. This will ensure that you are more likely to have a positive experience. Remember, preparation is essential. Always push yourself to be the best you can be. No matter the outcome always be proud of your performance. Last but not least, what did you learn?

Many people believe that it is very difficult to win in a Music Competition, the problem has always been ignorance. It is quite easy for you to succeed if have good information, or useful tips which you can make productive use of. So before you go on performing in the Music Competition it will be very useful if you make use of some of these tips to help increase your chances of winning.

Overall, the biggest Music Competition on the planet is American Idol. American Idol is an American reality singing competition program created by Simon Fuller and produced by 19 Entertainment. Caption Contests evolved do to the increase of popularity of cartoons and comics along with the use of illustrations and the surge of photojournalism in printed media at the end of 19th century. It is said that the first Caption Contest was printed in the U.S. press in the late 19th century. At that time these contests were called “picture title” or “picture headline contests”. However, the concept was the same as current caption contests. In the beginning of 20th century, in the U.S. Press, a Caption Contest was very common to see. Currently with the Internet in full force it has pushed the Caption Contest to new levels all across the globe. Although most caption contests are now on Internet, caption contests in printed media still exist and are quite popular. Along the lines of traditional caption contests there have been different forms emerging such as anti-caption contests for worst submitted caption and reverse caption contests where the most suile picture must be submitted for a given caption. There are also caption contests for a particular theme. In recent years the website caption me was founded. They feature amusing photos that are loaded automatically from photo-sharing sites. Visitors to the site can submit their captions and vote for others.

Here are a few tips you want might use the next time you enter a Caption Contest. Make sure always use proper English. Do not use online chat speak or twitter speak etc. Think of something unique and offbeat. Try and think of something that not everyone would think of when they look at the caption picture. Send in multiple captions to increase your odds. Your are giving the judges a variety of options to choose from. Look at the captions that have won in the past. Literally pick them a part and see how they put together their idea. Do not copy it but try to learn from them. If you find the entry humorous, go with it. It is always good to go with your gut. Do not get discouraged if you do not get in the first time. Keep trying. Ask a close friends to give you honest opinion of your work. Look at their immediate reactions. Ask another friend and then another. If they all have the same reaction, chances are, so will the judges. Always have fun with it.

Enter a Pumpkin Carving Contest

Pumpkin Carving Contest - It's a great way to win money or prizes every fall. If you'd like to test your pumpkin carving skills entering a Pumpkin Craving Contest is the way to go.

When you enter a Pumpkin Carving Contest make sure you read the rules. Reading the rules is a must.

Why? Because they are one of the most important parts of a contest. If you do not follow the rules to a tee you will most likely get disqualified. All that hard work will be for nothing. If you are going to win a Pumpkin Carving Contest you need to make sure you know what the judges are looking for. Before you start carving make sure that the Pumpkin Carving Contest rules don't specify the size of pumpkin, ask you to stick to a certain theme or have any other restrictions you need to follow. Okay, so you find out those details, now its on to the next step.

Without question, the main trick to winning a Pumpkin Carving Contest is coming up with a creative idea and being able to execute it.

You really want your pumpkin to stand out, so try to think beyond the usual concepts. To get some ideas do a search online for Pumpkin Craving Contest winners. Take a look at their work and maybe that can inspire you to get some idea's for your entry in a Pumpkin Carving Contest.

Start by coming up with a pattern for your pumpkin. That way, you can pick out the right pumpkin for your design. Depending on your design the size and dimensions will dictate how tall or wide you want your pumpkin. Do you want it perfectly round or maybe flat on one side? It's all about finding that “Right” pumpkin. Entering a Pumpkin Craving Contest is about having fun but let's be honest, we all want to win and the bragging rights as the Pumpkin Carving Contest winner! You should also look for a pumpkin that does not have any soft spots or cuts. Pull on the stem to make sure it's not loose. The pumpkin could be rotten.

Now that you have your pumpkin, it's time to start carving. Clean off your pumpkin from any dirt or debris. Look for the side of the pumpkin you want to start with. Trace your pattern onto the pumpkin with marker, that works the best.

Special tools are not needed for your pumpkin carving but there are professional pumpkin craving kits you can buy for under $20 to use for a Pumpkin Carving Contest. Just make sure you have some good tools to make the task go much easier. If you are going to use items that you already have we suggest using the following: Ice cream scoop, a medium to large sharp knife. Smaller, sharp knives for detail carving. A boning and paring knife. Some use a keyhole saw as well.

Traditionally, when you start carving your pumpkin a large hole is cut around the stem on top. But it is all on preference and what you are doing with your design. When you make your hole on top make sure to cut the pumpkin at an angle so that it won't fall through the pumpkin when you replace it. When the top is cut out you will want to scoop out the pulp and seeds.

Once your pumpkin has been cleaned it is time to start carving. You will want to cut on the outside of your lines and be very careful with small pieces. Take your time as going to fast can cause unwanted mistakes. Once that happens there is no turning back unless you can get really creative and go in another direction with your vision. When you're done, rub cooking oil on all exposed edges to prevent browning. For some the best part besides winning the Pumpkin Carving Contest is the seeds.

If you are entering your pumpkin online to a Pumpkin Carving Contest you will want to take a great picture of it. Use lighting to your benefit and make it sharp and crisp looking. Make sure all the details you want are highlighted. Since a Pumpkin Carving Contest is nothing new you will want to really push the boundaries and be very unique.

What is Freebie Jeebies?

Freebie Jeebies is a website that allows you to get items for free. A good portion of them are the latest gadgets such as Apple Products. They work on the rewarding system where old customers join in with new customers and the old ones are rewarded with gifts. The Freebie Jeebies site was started in 2007 in the UK. Now years later it has grown across the globe to nine other sites worldwide.

Freebie Jeebies has many unique features that makes them stand apart from the others.

Very similar to “roll over minutes” with cell phones, they were the first website in the UK to allow users to roll over their referrals. Any unused referrals can be carried forward while purchasing a gift. They also have no time frame and the gifts could be availed at any point of time. Freebie Jeebies is a unique site that allows you to choose from a huge variety of items. Freebie Jeebies also has a tracking system on the customer’s referrals that gives an entire detailed description of the views made by the referrers.

Ever since Freebie Jeebies launched in 2007 thousands of free items have been sent across the globe.

You name it, they have it. Just go to Freebie Jeebies and there you get anything you want. Around 2 million worth of gifts have been made available that range from blenders to iPads.

With the increase in demand for the products in Apple, especially the latest iPhones and other Apple products, Freebie Jeebies is the best site that could be recommended to anyone. Freebie Jeebies could help you get those products even if you don’t have the means for it. Freebie Jeebies gives you the access to them free and it is legit. Freebie Jeebies is a website that provides almost all the products of Apple exclusively.

On the Freebie Jeebie website you get products like the Apple iPhones, Apple TV, iPads, iPods and many more.  The greatest attraction is that all these expensive items could be delivered at your doorstep without any shipping charges. Again, it is all for FREE.

There is not to many other websites that are as beneficial as the Freebie Jeebies. You need to join them to get a clear understanding on how they work and what benefits you would obtain by joining them. We signed up for Freebie Jeebies to test it out and here is what we came up with: After taking the time and some research Freebie Jeebies is a legit from our experience.  How Freebie Jeebies works is you register on their site and sign up for one of the affiliate offers. Then you need to persuade some friends to sign up and do the same. We suggest sending an email to all your Facebook and Twitter friends. There will always be a few who will try it out. The name “Freebie Jeebies” alone is enough to catch anyone's attention. The bigger the free gift you want to get the more people you will need to persuade to sign up and register with an affiliate. In turn, those people would need to get a number or their friends to sign up before they get their free gift and so on. You might have noticed that this is starting to look like a pyramid scheme/MLM marketing. We all know those things are a nightmare. In fact, the financial pyramid schemes are illegal.

Freebie Jeebies is different from a MLM because there's no money involved just your time. There are many affiliates you can sign up with that will cost you no money. So it's an investment of time instead of money. When money in involved that is when it becomes illegal. With the Freebie Jeebies process you're hoping that enough people will invest their time so you can get a return on your investment knowing that eventually somewhere down the line people will not be seeing a return.

A common factor of MLM schemes and Freebie Jeebies is that you are cashing in on goodwill and social leverage that you've built up with your friends and acquaintances when you persuade them to join for your own selfish benefit.  Who does not want to help out a friend right?  The fact is people are always trying to gain something and why not have some fun with it at the same time. We suggest trying out Freebie Jeebies. The only thing that anyone will lose out on is “Time”.

It is distinct from loss leader marketing and free sample marketing, which do not depend on complementarity of products or services. Though the concept and its proverbial example "Give 'em the razor; sell 'em the blades" are widely credited to King Camp Gillette, the inventor of the disposable safety razor and founder of Gillette Safety Razor Company, in fact Gillette did not originate this model."

HGTV Home Giveaway and the Facts

HGTV Home Giveaway - There are several assumptions circling the HGTV Home Giveaway. The HGTV Home Giveaway facts. You can find some of the biggest Sweepstakes from “The Scripps Network”. Most people have never heard of them but you have most likely heard of their shows they produce. They include the Fine Living Network, HGTV, The DIY Network and The Food Network and others. With all good things unfortunately there are times that bad things sometimes follow.

However, whether you are entering a well-known Sweepstakes like the HGTV Home Giveaway or not, make sure you get your facts straight.

Here is a comment from a lady in South Carolina and her latest dealings with a HGTV Home Giveaway. She had entered several Sweepstakes along with a HGTV Home Giveaway. She was lead to believe her information had been sold from the HGTV Home Giveaway. After entering she started to receive several phone calls through out the day from various vendors. She also stated that she had been a target of two scams as well. The first, she received a call telling her that the government wanted to give her tax-free 10,000 dollars and they needed her credit card or checking account number to receive the money and second: She had received a check for "Secret Shopper " for $1278.48. Her assignment was to deposit this check into her checking account and proceed to Western Union and send the money to varies destinations.

Her complaint was, it is a shame for the HGTV Home Giveaway to lend they're name or to be associated with these kinds of practices in any way.

It is a negative mark! We are not the "know all" when it comes to Sweepstakes but from experience we can tell you this. First of all, the lady said she entered other Sweepstakes. How does she know it was the HGTV Home Giveaway who sold or gave away her information? She obviously enters several Sweepstakes and Contests. She assumed that since the calls started coming in on the day she had entered the HGTV Home Giveaway that “They” were the ones who gave or sold her information to a third-party. That is ridiculous when you think about it.

Here is another comment from someone who has watched HGTV for a long time and had entered the HGTV Home Giveaway. They now believe they are fixed after reading the rules and came up with this: The Dream Home Giveaway states not only can you enter online, but you can enter by sending physical mail (Snail Mail) There is no way that someone is going to enter all those paper entries into a computer system somewhere, they say. They are only giving away one home. So do they pick someone randomly online, or do they go to their pile of mail and draw someone from there! The participant also believes the whole idea of making someone think they have a chance to win is ridiculous. They only want your email address so that they can send you a bunch of advertisements. There should be regulations to stop these type of contests or they should have to show that they are legit and not fixed.

Everyone needs to know that with Sweepstakes, Contests and even with many Giveaways that these prizes are not given away just to be kind. The comments mentioned above are right about one thing, it is about advertising. The HGTV Home Giveaway or any others is not just about giving away something. The HGTV Home Giveaway is about name branding as in getting their name out so everyone will watch their network. At the same time they can build up a mailing list with your information to keep you informed on whats happening with their network. The HGTV Home Giveaway is a way to entice you to keep watching and keep coming back. Even though their shows do well you can never have to much of your brand name out there.

The HGTV Home Giveaway like any other legitimate Sweepstakes will state in their rules regarding the handling of your information they get from you. In regards to the mail-in comment above can you say “Intern” Yes it is possible that every entry could be entered into a computer. We will also bet that if they read the rules again they would see how the winner is picked. If the HGTV Home Giveaway only wants to get email addresses out of giving away a new house then that's their business.

A little FYI on Mail-In entries. The HGTV Home Giveaway supposedly picks the finalist from a Mail-In Entry and a Internet Entry to make it fair. Mail-In at least few of your HGTV Home Giveaway entry forms. Do not hold back and make your HGTV Sweepstakes Mail-In entry stand out. Others who enter the HGTV Home Giveaway like yourself might think it is not worth it but it's possible. From colorful sequins to stripes let your envelope scream "PICK ME!" When you enter a Sweepstakes like the HGTV Home Giveaway or any others just know you are one of many others who are sharing their information in exchange for a chance to win a prize.

Like life, there are NO GAURANTEE'S. Will your information be given away or sold? It could be? That is why you never give out your personal email address. Get a Gmail or Yahoo one just for entering Sweepstakes or Contests like the HGTV Home Giveaway. They are free. You DO want to give a legitimate phone number but never your home phone number. On the other hand, do you want your cell phone to be bombarded by telemarketers in case they sell or give your number away? Having at least some sort of voice mail set up is a good idea. That way they can contact you when you win by either email or phone. For only $2 a month you can get your own number and voice mail box. We have used Kall8 in the past and they are great to work with. Protect yourself and take heed to our suggestions. Is giving away some of your personal information that most people get anyway worth a new house or car?

Radio Contest - Listen to WIN!

Radio Contest is great to try to win because the number of entries is much lower than most sweepstakes. A Radio Contest is always narrowed down to the people in that specific listening area who are listening at the right time will be able to enter. The size of a Radio Contest all depends on the market. The bigger the market the more people who will call in for a Radio Contest. However, statistically when it comes to a Radio Contest on average the entries tend to be less than other contests and sweepstakes. This means that your chances of winning are very high. You can win Pizza's to Trips and Cash to Cars. Maybe lunch with a local celebrity from your favorite sports team.

Here are some Tips on entering a Radio Contest.

Be a Dial Flipper. Listen to different radio stations whenever you have the time. Flip the dial around so to speak. When a song is on flip around to find a commercial break or “talking” even if you hear music in the back ground. The DJ could be doing what is known in the industry a “tease” about an upcoming Radio Contest such as “When you hear a cow MOO be the first caller and win a year supply of Milk from Hood. Okay, that is not norm but you get the idea. Get to know the stations format/clock. They will generally run breaks every hour about the same time. However, that may differ sometimes especially when you are listening during a morning say from 6am to 10am. Most stations will always be running Radio Contests of some sort.

Keep Track of every Radio Contest you enter.

Start a spread sheet of every Radio Contest and take notes. If you can I would suggest recording when you can. Keep track and write down all the information that is given. Depending on the Radio Contest, some you will need to listen to more closely than others. The example above would be pretty easy to remember and would not be hard to forget. The whole point is to get you listening to their station. In turn, sell advertising.

Add Radio Station Phone Numbers to Speed and Auto Dial. Once you get a list of stations to listen to for a Radio Contest set them up on your speed dial. Adding these numbers to the speed dial of your land line or cell phone will make it much easier when you make your call.

Keep dialing, do not give up. Once the Radio Contest goes live, you should call over and over again as quickly as possible.

Don't give up even if it seems like you will never get through. Sometimes stations wait a while before they start picking winners. Never give up until the winner is announced on the air.

Use Flash and Redial. You want to make sure you get in as many calls in to the Radio Contest as quickly as possible. If your phone has flash and redial buttons, this will speed up your call time a lot. Flash will hang up your phone more quickly, and redial will save you the time of entering the number by hand or scrolling to your saved speed dial every time. It's good to hurry but make sure you do not go to fast and accidentally hang up when you do get through. It does happen sometimes.

Use several phones if you can. If you have two telephones such as a house phone and a cell phone, dial with both at the same time. This will double your chances of getting through. Get a few friends in on it. If you win it might be worth it to share it with them. Use your home/land line phone. Cell phones usually take a little bit longer to dial and you are more likely to drop a call than regular phones.

Here is a Radio Contest in the past that has drawn a lot of attention:

In 1998 a San Diego radio station Star 100.7 held a Radio Contest in which contestants competed to see who could ride a rickety local roller coaster the longest at a local park. The prize was a brand new car . The Radio Contest went on for the entire summer. The contestants rode the coaster all day long and sleeping in the cars at night. A few years after the winner was announced, the contestants filed a lawsuit against the radio station for irreparable damages to their bodies. So much for a fun marathon roller coaster ride.
