My outdoor view was of the third stories of other old, flat-topped apartment buildings and the naked tops of the tallest trees. Out of the corner of my pillow scrunched, right eye I glimpsed something illusory, opaque and pensive. Its partial reflection scared me. Its lack of definition opened the horror of the worst I had could ever try not to imagine. A bomb planted right in my apartment! For now, I just wish I could get away from this ticking clock.

“Teddy! Dammit. Bite the clock instead.”

The compelling, unavoidable demands have been, more or less, measured in decibels. Yet, I know that the drear is not anything more than the beginning of a long redundant story; to date an invariable tragedy; so easily avoided, but, work is work is .............. I can’t fully wake up. Maybe there exists a particular sort of non-prescriptive mercy. The call of the wild, million-to-one-shot hope resides in my heart. However, the reality of the rationally discernable indisputable landlord and my month old bank job took control.

The luxury of reflection has once again passed, and it is time to face the world again. It seemed like the removal of the blankets drops the temperature forty degrees. I shiver next to my crazy black kitten. He seems to like me, yet bites whenever
