Once upon a time, three little kittens; fluffy, curious, and full of mischief, set out to play in the great outdoors. They were dressed in cozy mittens, lovingly knitted by their mother. But as they frolicked and tumbled through the garden, they suddenly realized that they had lost their mittens!
Distraught, the kittens cried out; "Oh Mother dear, we sadly fear our mittens we have lost."
Their mother, stern but fair, declared that without their mittens, they could not have any pie. The kittens, determined to make things right, searched high and low until; hurrah! they found their mittens.
Joyfully, they sang; "Oh Mother dear, see here, see here, our mittens we have found."
Their mother praised them and rewarded their effort with a delicious treat; fresh baked pie. But their joy was short lived. In their excitement, the kittens soiled their mittens with pie crumbs and sticky filling.
Once again, they lamented; "Oh Mother dear, we sadly fear our mittens we have soiled."
