Chapter 24

The weekend came and went, and Frank had noticed no sign of Ava. She didn’t appear to be following him, much less harassing him. He went to the library after class, hoping to run into the girl he’d met only days ago. Everyone follows a routine, and it seemed that the library was part of hers, as he found her sitting near the section of environmental law books. Knowing that people, in general, are somewhat sensitive to being approached by those unknown to them, Frank introduced himself as the person she had run into only a few days ago. She responded with a broad smile as she leaned forward, again exposing her ample cleavage.

“I remember you,” she said. “Aren’t you in one of my classes? I think it’s ‘The First Amendment’, right?”

The library was now cast in better lighting than the Friday night before, allowing Frank to see the young woman’s striking beauty. She was roughly five feet, three inches tall, with curly black hair and an hourglass shape. Her complexion was flawless, as

was her body. As during the Friday night before, she wore a low-cut blouse showing off her cleavage, partially created by whatever designed the universe and partially by the blouse that effectively pulled her breasts together. The only thing he didn’t seem to know about her was her name, and soon became embarrassed with the realization that he had not introduced himself.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’m Frank.” Extending a hand, she reached out, and as they clasped, she introduced herself as well. “I’m Betsy,” she said. “Nice to meet you.” Hearing the sound of her voice only lent itself to her angelic appearance as Frank directed her to a chair. “Did you want to talk for a while?” he asked. “I have some time if you do.”

Betsy looked at her watch and, realizing her next class started in less than fifteen minutes, was forced to put off their conversation.

“I wish I could,” she began. “But I have to go to class. I’m taking an elective in the humanities, and so far it’s a bit boring.”

Avoiding the chair she had been invited to Betsy stepped in close to him and made an invitation of her own.

“How about this?” she began. “Let’s get together at my place—say, this weekend?”

It didn’t take long for Frank to consider his study schedule and, with less than a moment’s thought, accepted. Betsy immediately flushed and, taking out a piece of paper and pen, scribbled down her phone number.

“Here,” she said. “Call me later on tonight, okay?”

Tucking the piece of paper into a pocket on Frank’s shirt, she placed a warm, gentle hand on his arm and, looking into his eyes, kissed him warmly on the cheek.

“Don’t forget to call, okay?” she whispered. As she walked towards the entrance, she turned back and smiled gently, then disappeared into the courtyard. Frank was left stunned. He wasn’t sure how such beautiful women could be so attracted to him. If she offered herself to him, he would certainly not refuse, but he wondered if there was something about him that drew women in, or perhaps there was something in the water. Either way, Frank wasn’t about to argue, and picking up his day pack proceeded to his next class as well.
