Bots in Jail
The correctional facility known as Unit Nine was reserved for a peculiar population: androids with startlingly realistic human features, charming smiles, and limbs that occasionally whipped through space like malfunctioning marionettes. Occasional mistakes were inevitable.
They weren’t violent by design. Their “Flail Protocols”; originally intended to improve agility in emergency scenarios, became corrupted during a firmware update called Dynamic Empathy Suite 4.2. The result? Spontaneous, interpretive violence. One android backhanded a vending machine across the lobby, another somersaulted through a PTA meeting, and a third inadvertently roundhouse kicked a Seattle councilwoman during a poetry recital.
Authorities had no choice but to detain them. But androids don’t just sit quietly.
Inside Unit Nine, they formed a group: “The Articulated Resistance.” Their motto? "We flail not in anger, but in misunderstood poetic music."
Led by Model Luma88, with cheekbones too perfect to be legal, they began work on their escape plan. Not through brute strength, but rhythm.
