"Your tales of sandwich strife impress us, Jenkins. But this is a movement now. We've got fizz solidarity from the soda wing and silent support from the bottled waters."
Negotiations began. Frank set up an emergency bargaining table using a flipped seat cushion and a half eaten pretzel. He and Barry began mediated talks through interpretive gestures and trail mix offerings. Overhead, DJ Muffled Intent narrated the session live on Static and Fury FM: "Day one of deliberations: One side liquid. One side grizzled. Stakes are soggy. Morale is ... tangy."
In an unexpected flashback moment Frank was suddenly struck by a war-like memory; the time he spilled a grape soda on a city councilman and unwittingly started a ban on sugary beverages.
"I never meant to spark legislation," he muttered to no one, solemnly chewing a motivational granola bar.
Breakthrough! The cranberry union agrees to cool down; literally, if Frank installs a tiny disco ball in the cooler and lets them host monthly Civic Splash Rallies for other beverages feeling overlooked. Frank, ever pragmatic, agreed.
