“Well it doesn't seem like I should modify my behavior for people who will hate me regardless, but what do you suggest I do instead?”
“Get really excited to vote every two years, elect people who don't care about you, and then get really disappointed when they prove that they don't care about you. Repeat this cycle until you die.”
“That sounds masochistic and insane. How does this help me stop the people who want to punish me because I'm a straight White male?
“Oh don't worry, we'll beat them!”
“How?”
“The people that we elect stab us in the back and facilitate the passing of laws legalizing all the terrible stuff our enemies want to do.”
“How is that beating them?”
“Because we make them do it LEGALLY!”
“Wow. Is there a name for this self-extinctive approach to politics?”
“The Republican Party.”
