CHAPTER FIFTEEN
DR. MARTIN CHARLES
MID OCTOBER 2016
“Well whatever you did last night must have gone down well” Michael said to Jane when she arrived at work.
“Whatever are you talking about Michael?”
“Look and see.”
Jane walked in to her office and saw an enormous bouquet of flowers that obviously Michael had placed in pride of place on the middle of her desk.
“Open the card Jane, I am dying to know who your admirer is” squealed Michael.
Jane read out the card.
“Last night I appeared to have managed to upset your equilibrium for which I apologise. I hope you will agree to have dinner with me again so I can make amends, please call me , Martin.”
“Soooooooooooo who is Martin?” asked Michael.
“Dr. Martin Charles” replied Jane.
Michael fell a sinking feeling in his stomach. For goodness sake it was her Plastic Surgeon, a man that had played on her face to make her look younger. The worst part was that a sense of dejavu was also to be considered. The man was a Doctor, married with a family and hadn't Jane already gone down that toilet years ago. She had found out in a horrific manner, when her Father had passed away, that he had a second family which included a half brother.
“Well the flowers are exceptional but your taste in men might be a little lacking” said Michael in all honesty.
Jane didn't bite back just asking Michael to leave her alone for a while so she could gather her thoughts.
Michael left her office more than a little concerned.
