Unbeknown to Jane Caroline had taken upon herself to find out more about the Dawson's.
Amongst other things she managed to find out that Jane's Brother's name was Zac and he was six years younger than her. His Mother still lived in the same house that had been bequeathed to her by Grayson. It was information Caroline had kept to herself waiting for the right opportunity to divulge it to Jane but she ran out of time, instead leaving a folder with the details inside and a short note.
“Dear Jane,
I have enclosed some information you might find useful.
The reason I did this is that we are very alike. We like facts, figures, no hidden entities that will come back to bite us and I just felt it would be handy information for you to have should you choose to use it.
Warmest regards Caroline.”
“Thank you Caroline” thought Jane “thank you so much.” Jane was made Editor-in-Chief.
The first thing she did as such was fire her Personal Assistant, the girl being more interested in watching her nails grow. But a replacement was needed fast, like pronto. Jane took it upon herself to do the interviews sidelining the first and second interviews so that the people she was interviewing reached her face to face. Jane believed she would know the appropriate fit when she came across the right person.
She saw a handful of applicants and was almost about to call it a day when Michael walked in. “mmmmmmmmmm well definitely flamboyant” Jane thought and motioned for him to sit down.
“Well Michael I can see that you are currently employed at a rival magazine as Personal Assistant why do you want to make the change?”
“Because they are a bunch of dickheads” Michael answered candidly.
“Not a particularly fond term of talking about your employer” said Jane a little curtly.
“Sorry Ms Collins I call a spade a spade and I want to answer any questions you have for me honestly. It's just that the magazine I work for needs a complete overhaul. It's like they are living in the dark ages and won't budge moving forward into the future.”
They talked a for a good further twenty minutes and Jane realised she had made her decision. She stood up extending her hand and said “Welcome to 'EVERY WOMAN'.”
Michael fitted in like a shoe and a well shod one at that. He took no prisoners but managed at the same time to endear himself to the rest of the staff. To such an extent they loved to share gossip with him which Michael happily shared with Jane and which was very useful to know.
Time passed and Jane coming across the manilla folder Caroline had left her and made a decision, recognising it had been a long time coming.
IT WAS TIME TO FIND HER BROTHER
