Back at the Office Caroline got straight to the point.
“You didn't attend your Father's funeral though apparently half of Sydney did. Reporters rang and asked me if I knew why you had not attended. I point blankly told them to fuck off.”
“I am sorry to have placed you in that position Caroline but I had my reasons” said Jane.
“And I am sure they were sound ones. I may be old but I am no fool and neither are you, I trust your judgement.”
Jane sighed and said “I have to apologise again. I am required to attend the reading of my Father's will in several days time.”
“Don't apologise” said Caroline “perhaps that will give you some closure.”
