CHAPTER FOUR

High school was finished and a car was sent to bring Jane home. To her surprise her Father actually came out to greet her on her arrival pronouncing there was something he wanted to give her.

They walked up to the four vehicle garage and he opened the last which displayed a brand new car. “This is your car Jane for working so hard. I am sure that it will come in handy while you are on campus.”

Jane was nonplussed. “Thank you Father it is more than kind.”

“Lets go inside then” her Father said “I have arranged for Cook to make a special dinner.”

Jane followed him thinking “Where has my Father gone and what have you done with him? No don't bring him back this person will do just fine.”

COLLEGE

Jane lived off campus in a small but functional living area that covered all her needs. There were duplicate buildings around her that housed boys and girls.

Quite unlike her Jane started to forge some friendships, enjoying the camaraderie of people her own age.

She would often go to the Pub on a Friday night with a couple of the girls and that's where she met David.

David was tall and lanky with hair that no matter how many times he tried to comb back with his hands would fall back on to his face. He was in his first year of Law and a man on a mission, wanting to work for the common good and help the under dog. Though Jane did not have all the fine attributes that David had she understood his ambition and in that they forged a bond.

David lived in a bedsit which was covered in papers and last nights take out, Jane loved it.

Jane suggested they go to the beach one weekend and picked David up from his place. “Whoa nice wheels” he said.

“Gets me from A to B” said Jane.

Their relationship progressed from friendship to a lot more.

College would soon be ending and though Jane's relationship with David was very important to her she never left sight of the prize, she wanted to work at one magazine and one magazine only 'EVERY WOMAN.'

She had worked too hard and too long to let it slip through her fingers.
