Mr. Nortreus Viewed the Sky
Through His Telescope
Later that night, the rain ceased, and Mr. Nortreus paused his storytelling to gaze at the Sky and Celestial Bodies through his telescope.
“Has the rain stopped?”
“Yes, it has,” he replied.
“Should I look at the Sky now?”
“For research?”
“Certainly!” came the response.
“You know what, I think I will look at the Sky now,” he added.
Without delay, he rose from his chair he was sitting on and moved towards the telescope positioned by the window.
“What's new in the Sky?”
“There is nothing new under the Sky, but let me take a look,” he said as he peered through the telescope.
“Wow! That's stunning!” He exclaimed.
“Thankful that God created all these magnificent Celestial Objects for us,” he remarked while observing the Sky, the Moon, and the Stars.
“What would we do without you, God?”
“We also honor your boundaries,” he continued.
“I can't wait to meet you up there in Heaven,” he said with a laugh.
“Oh, did I just say that?”
“Be careful what you wish for!” He added.
“At least, I’ll be in Heaven!” He spoke. Mr. Nortreus Revised Tales After Viewing the Sky
A few minutes later, after Mr. Nortreus finished his observation of the Sky and Celestial Objects, he sat down to review some texts he had previously written before using the telescope.
However, something was about to occur next time.
What was that something?
Well, a page from his story, featuring his name and portrait, would be swept by the breeze that flowed into the room through the window.
“What revision am I working on?”
“I don't believe I've made any errors thus far,” he replied while sitting in the same chair, reviewing the texts he had composed.
“What time is it?” He asked, glancing at the clock in the room.
“Oh, it's getting late.”
“Time to go to bed.”
“I have to work in the morning, which will be Thursday,” he reiterated.
He then rose from the chair, placed his notebook on the desk in his room, to prepare for sleep.
However, he forgot to close the notebook and left it open on the desk.
Sheet of Paper Reached Black
Girl's Window
Oh, my goodness!
Did a powerful gust of wind sweep into the room and snatch a sheet of paper from the notebook?
Yes, it certainly did.
While Mr. Nortreus was asleep, shortly after he had completed his review of the texts for his tales, a strong wind from outside blew through the open window, entered the room, and whisked away a sheet of paper from the notebook, carrying it outside.
Yes!
Indeed!
This sheet of paper was then transported by the wind and landed, getting stuck in the window of an apartment not far from his home.
The Girl Heard a Noise and
Checked the Source
The paper fell and lodged itself in the window of a young black girl's bedroom, who woke up immediately upon hearing the noise at the window.
“What is that sound?”
“Mom! Dad! Is that one of you?” The girl exclaimed as she jumped out of bed.
“No, it’s not them,” she said in response.
“If it’s not them, then where did the sound come from?” She wondered aloud, puzzled by the source of the noise.
The girl then got out of bed and walked over to the window to investigate the sound while the strong wind continued to blow outside.
Peering out the window, she noticed a sheet of paper stuck there.
“Oh, what is that?”
“A sheet of paper?” She remarked.
Although she was unsure of its origin, she opened the window and took it.
“Where did you come from?”
“Did someone toss you into the window, or did the wind bring you here?” She pondered.
The Girl Saw Texts and a
Man’s Portrait
As the girl flipped the paper over, something caught her attention; she saw a name and a portrait of an old black man on it.
“Mr. Nortreus, who are you?”
“Why does your portrait look so amusing?” She said, chuckling.
After examining the paper, she closed the window and returned to bed, holding the paper in her hand.
“Goodnight!”
“See you in the morning!” She said before she fell asleep again.
