Volunteer work makes it possible to learn more about Australians and their culture, but also to approach professions that are completely different from what you are used to. There are many organizations and associations in Australia to find this type of job. They may be about animal protection, the protection of the environment, help to the poor, etc. To find out more, you can contact them. Here are some websites:

Voluntary work can help you get a Second Year Visa if you’re on a Working holiday visa, depending on the state where you are and on your field of work. To extend your visa to a second year, you’ll need to find what is called “specified work”.

You’ll need to complete three months (or 88 days) worth of specified work in a regional area of Australia. The easiest work to find will be fruit picking, farm work or horticultural work.

GOOD LUCK !
