It should therefore be stored in a locked cabinet. The personnel file should contain all information relevant to the staff member. It is important that it is kept up-todate and it is the responsibility of the Human Resources Department or line manager to ensure that it is maintained in accordance with local law.
Each personnel file should hold some or all of the following items for each staff member. The amount of information held will depend upon the person’s role.
