Preface

When I published AI Tsunami, I was convinced I had captured the great technological shock of our time—the wave that would reshape economies, governments, cultures, and even our sense of identity. A serious book. A committed book. Almost prophetic.

Then I looked at what was actually happening in the real world.

While I was analyzing how AI might influence geopolitics, millions of people were using the same technology to. . .

have it write their homework without reading a single line, generate six-armed cat memes,

ask an AI how to “breathe better,”

and—above all—scroll seven-second videos until they lost track of time, space, and occasionally their dignity.

That’s when I realized the world needed a different kind of book.

If AI Tsunami was about the force of the wave, this book is about the people getting knocked over while filming a reel. If the first explored epoch-shaping transformations, this one explores transformations that are. . . epically stupid. If the first examined the future of humanity, this one examines the future of humanity when it decides to stop using its brain.

Welcome to AIdiot Generation: a journey through digital absurdities, cognitive shortcuts, mental laziness, and the intellectual acrobatics of those who treat AI like a universal remote control for life.

This is not a book against technology. It’s a book against the dumb use of technology. Against total delegation, superficial thinking, copy-paste culture, and the kind of notification addiction that vibrates more than our ability to think.

Within these pages you’ll find the other side of innovation—the part that never appears in big-tech reports but thrives in the comment sections of viral videos. The part that doesn’t change the world, but definitely changes—mostly for the worse—the way we inhabit it.

If AI Tsunami was a manual for surviving the wave, AIdiot Generation is a manual for surviving. . . ourselves.

Because the real risk isn’t AI becoming too smart. The real risk is us giving up on the effort to be.

Author’s Note

This book didn’t come from a sudden revelation or from some particularly sophisticated academic analysis. It came from something much simpler: reality.

The reality of students pasting entire AI-generated chapters into their assignments without even deleting the line “as a language model, I cannot. . . ”. The reality of professionals outsourcing everything—ideas, writing, decisions, even apologies—to an algorithm that doesn’t understand responsibility in any sense of the word.

And above all, the reality of a world moving so fast it doesn’t notice it’s tripping.

I wrote AIdiot Generation for one very simple reason: I couldn’t stand watching artificial intelligence being used as a shortcut to avoid using human intelligence.

Don’t get me wrong: I love technology. I study it, build it, use it, and work with it every day. But precisely because of that, it makes me smile—and sometimes despair—to see one of the most powerful inventions in human history reduced to a toy for producing useless content, automatic answers, and digital identities that all look the same.

This note isn’t meant to be a sermon. I’m not here to tell anyone what we should do, but to describe what we’re actually doing. And to do it with a bit of irony, because many of the behaviors I explore in this book are so absurd they’re almost funny. . . if they weren’t also deeply revealing.

Writing this book felt like watching a live social experiment: a humanity holding incredibly powerful tools and using them to ask,

“make a joke about my cousin.”

And maybe that’s the point. We haven’t become more stupid.

We’ve just become faster at showing our stupidity.

AIdiot Generation is my attempt to bring some order to this chaos, to describe it with clarity and sarcasm, and to remind my-self—and anyone reading—that AI can do many things, but it cannot replace what makes us truly human: the ability to think, to choose, to fail, and to learn.

If you laugh, great. If you recognize yourself in a chapter, even better. If you close this book with a bit more awareness. . . then I’ve done my job.
