The Tarot espouses a positive and life affirming spiritual philosophy, but it did not come with an instruction manual. There is no written statement from the hand of its creators. It cannot even be determined with certainty exactly who its creators were, exactly when and where it was created or what its creator’s precise intentions were in bequeathing their gift to mankind. A vast wealth of commentary and interpretation has sprung up around the Tarot since its “discovery” and entrance into the modern world as one of the spiritual currents of western civilization. This work has drawn upon this wealth and adds to it the metric of practical experience in an attempt to synthesize its spiritual philosophy and join it to a practical system of providing advice and insight to those who may need it.
Following upon this afterword is an appendix of expanded card associations that will allow a broader insight into the overall meaning of each card. The associations have been drawn from tradition, contemporary understanding and personal experience and serve to empower the intuitive link between the question asked and the card received thus nourishing the revelation of truth in your readings. They can also serve as a solid foundation for those who choose to pursue a further study of the Tarot and learn more advanced reading techniques, one of which id detailed following the expanded associations.
Whatever relationship you may choose to form with the Tarot, your study and use of its remarkable images will be of great benefit to you as you walk on whatever path the Spirit reveals to you as the path of your true destiny.
