EMBERLY’S GONE
It is the time of a sad poem
The lamp has gone dark
And its oil run dry.
Such a brief warmth,
Such a brief light,
So brief!
In you I thought I might find a friend
But the stark hopelessness of truth
Swept you away and left
Only this empty end.
You are gone.
