And from all I am reading, it seems that finally there is some real competition between these two. Not until now have I been willing to concede that the Nook and the Kindle were able to compete against one another &#8211; but with their respective forays into the tablet arena, that just might change.<\/p>\n<h2>The Kindle Fire<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ebookenvy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/iu_Xpl5DLCOM.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-820 alignright\" title=\"The Kindle Fire\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ebookenvy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/iu_Xpl5DLCOM-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The reviews I have been seeing for the Kindle Fire have been mostly disparaging &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/marcwebertobias\/2011\/11\/18\/got-my-kindle-fire-its-got-a-glitch-but-i-like-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/erikkain\/2011\/11\/18\/kindle-fire-not-an-ipad-killer-after-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twice<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/larry-magid\/kindle-fire-review_b_1101900.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Huffingtonpost<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2011\/11\/17\/kindle-fire-having-wifi-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TechCrunch<\/a> &#8211; to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>And not a few of them have been flogging that dead horse of a topic &#8211; that the Kindle Fire is an alternative to the other all-purpose tablets on the market. I have been ill myself, so not as prolific as I&#8217;d like to have been, but it hasn&#8217;t stopped me from being incensed at how widely misunderstood the Kindle Fire is.<\/p>\n<p>I neither own one, nor do I intend to own one (I am an e-Ink kind of girl) &#8211; but from the day of the announcement it was clear to me that the focus of the Kindle Fire was never &#8220;all-purpose&#8221;. It&#8217;s about delivering Amazon.com content nothing more, nothing less. And I don&#8217;t think I can say it any more without sounding like a stuck record. So that it&#8217;s now known as the Nook Tablet is no huge leap. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2011\/11\/18\/kindle-fire-vs-nook-tablet-fight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Endgadget<\/a> has a fairly comprehensive comparison article on both of these tablets.
