It all began with a dream. The dream that according to USA Today over 82% of Americans have and a small group took action and is now taking shape for a local writers group.
They took the quote from Virgina Woolf “A Room of One’s Own” and made it real. They purchased a house that will serve as office space for the largest non-profit writers’ organizations in their region. Their dream was to provide a place for writers to gather, share ideas, critique work, and let their passion come to life. The living room of the house will serve as the meeting place for Authors and the six bedrooms have been converted to writing rooms that are rented for $10 for 24 hours.
This non-profit has taken an idea and brought it into a very real presence it their community. Given that one of the writers of this group is a screenwriter the community is certain to benefit in many ways in the future. How can you service your community with your dreams?

In my local community we have a non-profit that serves adults with disabilities. Funding is always hard to come by. In June we held our first annual 5K run, Walk-A-Thon and online silent auction. We raised over $21,000 which will help keep the program alive. It took a lot of folks to make this happen but we feel it was a success, especially for our first event.
