Eleanor Louise Byers (1922-2007) used a lot of names throughout her career. She was born in Missouri, leaving for New Jersey where she performed at The Rivera as Eleanor Davis. It was there that she met comedian Lenny Kent. They were married in 1950 and she became Ellie Kent or Eleanor Kent onscreen. After divorcing him, she married producer Jonie Taps. She had a respectable acting career. Although her roles were typically uncredited, she was given dialogue in The Garment Jungle (1957) and Pal Joey (1957). She yearned for a simpler life in her hometown. This coupled with the fact that she wasn't getting good roles prompted her to return home.
