Mary Ellen Batten (1923-2015) was born in Canada. After graduating from the Toronto Conservatory of Music and being crowned Miss Canada of 1941, she and her mother Alice left for New York City and eventually Hollywood. After failed attempts at being a star, she joined the Screen Extras Guild and became a bit player. She often claimed to be roughly a decade younger than she was. She died in Sunland, California after a brief illness.
She never married, nor did she have children.
