In the World Series Wagner’s Pirates eked out a 4-3 win over Cobb’s Tigers. The Flying Dutchman - .333, 6 RBI’s, and 4 Runs, outplayed the Triple Crown winning Georgia Peach, .231, 5 RBI’s, and 3 Runs; and something legendary and possibly true happened. The first time Cobb got on first base he yelled out to Wagner; “I’m coming down on the next pitch, Krauthead.” In the tag out, Wagner slapped his ball containing glove in Cobb’s face, drawing blood. It was the only time the two met on the field.
