Brown made occasional appearances in exhibition and old timer’s games into the forties, keeping his hand in baseball without it being a full time job. Throughout his later years Mordecai led a quiet life centered on his marriage to Sarah Burgham whom he had wed in 1903. He operated the station through the thirties and into the forties until he had a stroke in 1947.
