So, there you have it. Based on irrefutable numbers the Chicago team and their biggest star, Mordecai Brown, were the first great franchise in “modern” baseball history, no matter how forgotten; that forgetfulness perhaps conveniently attributed to the league’s business, which is benefitted by issuing propaganda stating that what is there now is the best there has ever been.
