Francis Augustus Cox (1783–1853) was preaching in his teens before training as a Baptist Minister. He was a minister for over forty two years in Hackney. He was an active supporter of the formation of the University of London. He published numerous articles including a book of biographies and a history of the Baptist Missionary Society.
