Modelling Batch Systems Using Population Balances
One-dimensional population balances are used as a modelling tool for a variety of chemical processes. In particle technology population balances are typically used for modelling agglomeration processes – e.g. in fluid bed granulation processes. In this text the population balances are introduced and fully derived with focus on each of the terms in the balance. The text is an excellent starting point for beginners and thus you will be familiar with the basic principles and theory within this relevant chemical engineering field on a bachelor or master-of-science level.

Matrix Methods and Differential Equations
By: Wynand S. Verwoerd
This book is aimed at students who encounter mathematical models in other disciplines. It assumes some knowledge of calculus, and explains the tools and concepts for analysing models involving sets of either algebraic or 1st order differential equations. The text emphasises commonalities between these modelling approaches. The approach is practical, aiming at insight to understand the mathemati...
Intermediate Maths for Chemists
By: J. E. Parker
Chemistry Maths 2 teaches Maths from a “chemical” perspective and is the second of a three part series of texts taken during a first-year university course. It is the Maths required by a Chemist, or Chemical Engineer, Chemical Physicist, Molecular Biologist, Biochemist or Biologist. Tutorial questions with fully worked solutions structured on a weekly basis to help the students to self-pace ...
