Volume 3 of The Second Expedition trilogy After reaching the city of Zhlindu, Alan thinks he is in the '...and they lived happily ever after' part of his adventure. Then a detective informs Desa that strange beings are hunting them in the depths of the city and an old friend of Alan's shows up, claiming he can lead them to safety. The expedition's Systems Administrator spends years trying to hack into the native data system until the main expedition returns and she must battle her clone sister to the death.
