The Nova Scotia artist illustrates the English genocidal expulsion of the
Acadians from Nova Scotia in 1755. Surette, Canada’s historian-in-art,
created a lasting monument to the historical events surrounding this atrocity
in a series of six paintings.
Burn and Lay Waste is in the Clare Municipal Building in Nova Scotia.
