Based on actual events and characters, The Shades of Paradise is the story, of a woman who relocates to Costa Rica to give her failed life a second chance. Home becomes the white-sand beach and emerald water that Beth had dreamed it should be. But, even Eden has its dark side. Central American drug trafficking had its roots right there where she was expecting a bright new future to blossom in her life. Instead, her tropical paradise, like the enticing petals of a Venus fly trap, began slowly to enclose her in its deadly trap.

it takes someone to have a great determination to live in order to see and taste perhaps just a shade of paradise! a very nice read...
