The Leaching of Ian Burns (Abridged)

Follow cantankerous old Ian as he adjusts rather humorously to an afterlife filled with unconventional concepts. This lighthearted, somewhat sacrilegious version of heaven blends liberal doses of philosophy, psychology, theology and the paranormal with the magical qualities of physics into a world of possibilities.

This books starts off well, with a very interesting main character and a great premise about what heaven might be like. The conflict also starts well, but about half-way through it all gets bogged down in far too many characters with names like Larry and Barry and Leo, and too many plot streams. As a result, when the conflict should be increasing near the end, it fritters away in too much description and too many words.
A serious edit to take 20% of the superfluity off, and this could be a great book
